Such a lazy jerb I'm doing. Getting paid to do MSHA safety... at home! The horror!

  • Currently in Amsterdam for work, right next to the airport, and have a free night tonight. Any recommendations on where to head out? Walking distance ideally..

If you take a 30 minute train ride from Schiphol, you can go to centraal station you can walk all over town.  Rijks or Van Gogh museums or Dam Square, which just a few blocks down straight out of the station. For a good beer and food you can go tighten over to Dwaze Zaken from the station! It's just across the water right out of the doors. Also you can just rent a bike for like five bucks and ride all over town and it's amazing! That's a great place to have a day to spend!

I got invited to go and watch a secret screening of some unreleased movie. It was surprisingly good.

Also I sheared all my lovely locks off, but no pics because I got a megazit. After the megazit maybe >_>

Honestly I wasn't all that impressed with it cause most of the way through I thought it was just gonna be the typical b-movie formula from beginning to end but I'm totally satisfied by that ending. I know there are people who really dislike that sentiment, but I didn't really think it was anything special. The decision for what happened at the end impressed me, though. Serious rave for pun vader tho.
    Huh. Neat.
  • I have to agree. It exceeded expectations for me, but only because I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised, but I don't think it was special. I imagine a lot of the praise comes from the nostalgia for specific characters.
  • I saw it last night. No expectations, it was entertaining, but if it had come down to paying for a ticket to see it, or seeing it when it came out on digital, I would have waited. Only reason I did see it in theaters was because I got a free ticket. K-2 was probably the best character, IMO.
    meh

Mrs Klendathu persuaded me to pay for satellite TV, so now have Sky Boxsets. Sky Atlantic is currently showing Game of Thrones from season 1, so am finally getting to see it. No spoilers please, although I do know pretty much every episode has a main character being killed and lots of lady lumps :)

Tharos, the Announcer of Delos shouts, "It's near the end of the egghunt and I still haven't figured out how to pronounce Clean-dat-hoo."

@Anedhel teh red part or teh green part?
    Huh. Neat.
  • Went out and had a tremendous amount of fun. I really need to do this more often. Acquired a friend date for my birthday (dinner at this amazing diner nearby + going to see 'Hidden Figures' on opening night) and a pile of movies for Christmas since my sister isn't coming. Going to grocery shop tomorrow and play around in the kitchen since I'm off.
  • Civ 6 had another patch! Alert's back (yay!) and new civ is pretty excellent. Viking scenario's pretty great, too :D

Gonn' be hard to have time for anything else the next couple days :(

I miss all my MKO horses. Some were given me by MKO's Shod, and so I'd given them all names with 'Shod' in, such as Slipshod, Roughshod, Shodrunk...

  • Everyone has been hyping up Rousey since she lost last time, like it was a fluke... she got what she had coming. I pray to everything good and holy that we won't see anymore of her Expendables style commercials anymore.

No spoilers, but I will say it is a roller coaster of a show. If you don't already have a drinking problem, you probably will by the time you make it to Season 5.

  • I expected the rollercoaster of GoT because I'd read the books, but Battlestar Galactica gave me a drinking problem (back when I drank). I hope you enjoy GoT, Klendathu!
  • @Ellodin introduced me to Japanese MMA and my life is a little more complete now.

  • Got a PS4 for xmas and discovered Warframe. It's eating into all my free time, and I'm okay with that.
