Awww he's not evil! He's so sweet. Would cautiously pet.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
My uncle had a big, red parrot that they named Ruby. Except, when him and my aunt would get into an argument, that's when it learned some of it's most colourful vocabulary, and would hound my uncle. I think these days he argues more with the parrot now.
I used to live pretty close to Hillcrest. Some of the best years of my life while living in SD. We used to go to Ocean Beach a lot. Hang out around the tide pools and watch the little critters. Hang out with the locals and do the fire pits. Eat some ginormous burgers at Hodads. Street fairs every weekend on my block. Man. You guys are making me really nostalgic.
It's a great city. Many nice places. Weather's fantastic. Cost of living can be a bit high, but that's California.
I am just here for a conference. I have throughly enjoyed walking back and forth to the convention center everyday. You are so right about the weather!! I definitely could not afford to live here that's for sure.
It's been a few years since I lived there, but I'd definitely suggest heading over to Balboa Park if you can manage the time. If I remember correctly, they used to open certain museums in the park for free on each Tuesday of the month. Even if you can't get into a museum for free, it's so beautiful to just walk around in. They have lots of free areas to explore, including a rose garden.
So I've had a fairly crappy time at work the last couple weeks. Just been getting did respected and there is no discipline from the sales peoples and. they complained abut me for being mean (lol)
I get to work and one of the vps is there to get me when I walk in at my regulatory 90minutes late lol. last time she was here I got in trouble for singing in the office so I instantly think oh gawd what'd I do now.
I show her some office space that is being converted from a storage area to a office for a marketing director and we gameplan about how to do that... then headupstairs to the sales floor.
I walk into our office and my whole staff is there to wish me happy birthday. my bday is on Friday and I'll be off of work until Sunday. totally caught off guard and don't now how to react. the feeling that MY staff appreciates me was pretty overwhelming, considering. i definately she'd some tears and it totally made my day/week/month and I can't really think of a better gift.
So, I got treated to a really random surprise movie-date night by the spouse. Went into the movies never have read/seen anything relating to Dr. Strange before in my life. Movie blew my mind. I'm so hyped over this movie that I just keep watching clips and reading quotes of the favorite parts that I saw. I can't remember the last time I left the movies 100% certain that I'm going to buy the movie on digital or DVD. Ffffffffff.
Some spoiler stuffs:
Some of you may not like the fact that it didn't follow the comics to the T. I've read that people are not happy with the fact that The Ancient One was acted out by a woman, but to be honest, she was my favorite character. She nailed it.
This? Man. Brb going Monk-Mage-Alchemist-Shaman super being.
TLDR: Dr. Strange the movie was so fucking cool that I'm a fan for life in one night.
I loved the fact that Dr. Strange didn't feel like another Marvel superhero movie. It didn't feel like it was just backstory for the character for future films, it didn't feel like the love interest was shoehorned in after meeting him only a week before. There was real character growth, comic breaks in the middle of the fight scenes ( cloak ). The few flaws I saw in it weren't anything major and overall I'd have to agree with @sobriquet: Best Marvel so Far.
Now it's time to wait for Dr. Strange 2
You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.
The way he uses his skills/magic reminds me a lot of the methods used in The Magicians. I started the movie last night, just got to the part where he's been accepted in Nepal.
I got laid off from work on Thursday. Finally get to leave this smelly corn and soybean harvested state of Iowa tomorrow and go home. Woot woot for me!
ps- @Hyperlith is going to be doomed soon as I get GTA V downloaded on my PS 4. No one tell him.

Yea, that one!
Got a new washer delivered and installed today; pouring rain outside, college football on, many loads of clothes churning away.
