Freaking Dreamforce is this week, which has me feeling super awesome. Incoming request to knock one or two back OOC. Somewhat sad that I'm going to be missing a good chunk of the event for it, but I'll take drinking from a firehose of knowledge and fun for a week.
So if anyone is wondering why I ever picked this nickname... Listen to Opeth -Bleak. I hardly spoke English back then. Just liked the sound of the word. Had no idea what it meant. Blame the best metal band ever+puberty.
Yeah I understand its hard to appreciate. But you gotta trust me when I say this song is worth spending 10 minutes on. The entire middle bit is without the noisy stuff. And I feel its almost like a mini opera.

My man. I'll headbang extra hard for you. Opeth has been a favorite for a long time. My only annoyance is that the show is in a seated theater with no standing room. How can you listen to Deliverance standing still?
Re: Opeth Their newest album dropped a few days ago and it's pretty great(Strange Brew is the first song I've really gotten hooked on so far). I actually listed to Bleak the other day and the thought occurred to me that you could have gotten your name from it . There seem to be a lot of Swedish metal listeners in IRE muds. Several of them in Imperian for sure. On a similar topic, Meshuggah is putting out their first album since 2012 on Friday, and I'm going to be breaking my damn neck seeing them play it live the day before my birthday in November. Good stuff!
I like Sorceress a bit. It felt like a more thought out Heritage. Transitioning from Watershed to Heritage was tough, but I've really grown to like their new sound.
Ghost Reveries and Watershed got me into Opeth - partially because a housemate at the time threw her headphones on me to check out The Grand Conjuration, and then I just really liked the album art for Watershed >.>
I'm still on the fence with Sorceress...maybe I'll give it another shot now that I'm reminded
Ghost of Perdition has been on their last couple of set lists... all the fucking headbanging
I first heard Ghost of Perdition on some compilation thing that RoadRunnder did, it was like a sampler for a bunch of different artists. That version was only like 3-4 mins long. I found the actual full 10 minute thing like a week later and was SO PLEASED
That show was incredible. I've never heard Hex Omega live before... god damn. Their guitarist started playing The Drapery Falls at the wrong time while their singer was tuning his guitar. Cue 5 minutes of ball busting before playing In My Time of Need. Great music, great humor from Akerfeldt (sp).
I just moved to Dallas recently if anyone wants to chill here. I work in Garland and can hop the train up to Plano pretty easily (I don't drive).
Rave: So, my life sort of revolves around work right now but at least work is fairly awesome. It drives me crazy some days but it might be my most favorite job I've had so far. My coworkers give me massive amounts of gray hair by not reading their emails, but actually give a crap about me and are super sweet and have appointed themselves my adopted family. And when there's a lull I've actually been making progress on Achaea designs and such. I love Dallas. First time living in a big city. I could see myself staying here. Also, rave for Arabic and coding classes that are pretty fabulous, though rant for fighting the procrastination demon.

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
