plane broke down in China yeserday and I am now about 30 hours overdue from going home after my japan trip. immigration refused to let us into china but our pilot managed to convince them to let us in to go to a hotel with an escort. in the morning they told me i could either wait until Monday for another flight that goes to copenhagen then home or take planes to Germany and make my own way from there. terrified of being in China for more than I needed to be on a dodgy permit I decided to try my luck in Germany.
booking my ticket they told me they had lost my luggage and couldn't track it (bye bye souvenirs from japan and most of my clothes)
10 hours of flight later, landed here, explained everything to the service desk and now have tickets to norway so I can finally go home. Hope my luggage turns up somewhere but I have given up on that now. travel insurance will hopefully come through with something at least.
relief is maximum.

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important

Yeah, that's what I thought. Looked familiar. I live very, very, very close to there. You were probably within a baseball throw of me at some point, depending on how you got there.

I stayed at the NYLO hotel as it was 30 second walk from the office (Might indicate who I work for now) and we got the hotel shuttle to the mall, did some shopping and walked through Dillard's across the parking lot into Perry's. Shame I didn't know before hand otherwise I'd have very happily bought you beer or two.
Rave: Spent the weekend in Rome with the wife, baby, and a friend. Had an amazing time. Small rant: missed everything that happened the past 3 days, and apparently the turn of the month was awesome IG. Damn.

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
I'm in Austin on Oct 13th, but should be back in Plano in Jan / Feb next year if any of you local to the area are around would be good to grab a beer.
