Building a pc for the first time in years. Core i7-6700k skylake, h170 mobo, corsair liquid cooling, gtx 960 4gb oc edition (next to upgrade), 16gb ddr4, 500gb ssd, 1tb hdd.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
When I had to move out into my own place I found a unit with an open staircase. I half-joked that I was going to build a fort under the staircase and live in it since I didn't know what to do with such a big area. But, for a while it was filled with packing boxes etc as I tried to find places for things.
However, the time has come. Fort Phase 1 complete. Lighting installed.
Do you have pets? That seems like it would be a great area for a dog or cat or multiples of those things, or even a terrarium. I'm only saying that though because I very much doubt I would fit in there to begin with.
Or throw a futon mattress in there, and put a shelf up for books and a reading nook.
No pets allowed unfortunately but I do have a pet orchid I half killed. It's only about 140cm in height so once my couch arrives I'll through the beanbag I've been using in there, make a couple of giant pillows, put down a rug and it'll be the reading nook and chill corner.
Maybe if Bama qb wouldn't have thrown more balls into the sidelines then the field it'd had been different, I'm a pretty hardcore Alabama fan but that just made me wanna slam my head through a wall. All the same good game Clemson, we'll see ya next year same game
So I moved out of Florida just a week before Christmas, to go back home temporarily.
It's been a bit of a rough transition. Having not had consistent (physical) contact with the main branch of my family in eight years, while some family members I connect with again as easily as riding a bike, others I'm still re-learning how to stand with. But all in all, positive first steps have been made, and more-over everyone is supportive, if perhaps in an awkward manner at times.
In the few weeks I've been here, I enjoyed the holidays with the family, applied for a few government services to help get me going, applied to a local community college, intensely researched financial aid, applied for such, done a huge amount of apartment shopping (and have narrowed down to some candidates to look at next week), and did a bunch of other phone calls and research into personal nonsense to assist me moving forward.
It has been absolutely exhausting, and has kept me away from Achaea for the most part. But I'm starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel, and I expect within the next few weeks, I'll be in my own place again and hopefully prepping for the upcoming summer semester. Still quite a few steps to go, though, before we get there.
But I'm excited to begin the sluggish trod through the mud to what I hope will be a big life turn-around.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
It's my turn to win! @Elipise sent me a batch of cookies and christmas presents, one of them being a book with Call of Cthulu and other stories. Thank you so much Eli! (Also the death stars were incredibly good)
Which kills me because that means I have to root for the Pack, lesser of two evils. Can't have the Dark Side of the Force filthy stinking Patriots winning the whole thing, ugh.
RIP Cowboys though, that final field goal ho-lee fuckarolee, won by inches
As a football fan, Packers vs Cowboys was amazing. As a Packers fan... That game was fucking awful. So incredibly stressful watching that lead get eaten away, and my hands hurt from crossing my fingers so damn hard on all four of those field goals at the end.

I hate you

Not exactly what I was hoping for, and certainly not what I was expecting, but surprisingly satisfying. Now to just wait another two years
