Considering I was neither ranting nor bitching, feel free to follow your own advice. I brought up something that seemed inconsistent and able to be improved. There was no negative intent. If you or anyone else see it that way, the fault is between your ears.
Again, since some of you idiots can't seem to read or see beyond your own bias and 'must destroy those who disagree' mentality, I've said it's good that people are enjoying this. I also believe those who aren't have as much right to speak as you do. When players attack other players when they weren't even mentioned in the posting, then you show what kind of person you are, and go into the 'ignore this moron' category.
You’ve called people idiots, morons, demeaned intelligence, and overall been a negative in this thread.
Dont want people responding to your whining? Don’t whine. Weird concept, I know, but there you have it.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
Once again...... I brought up something to discuss that I thought could be improved and made more fitting to the current time of the game. Some were able to see it as intended and brought up points of their own.
The attacks began from someone who wasn't involved in any way and offered nothing to the conversation that was intended. Apparently they only wish to attack those who disagree. I reserve the right to respond accordingly to those who wish to attack me, when I've not attacked them.
Hey, so, those games coming up, looks really interesting.
New thing added to the games, related to Balan'Ukia. Sojourn means a 'temporary stay', so maybe we're visiting the Underrealm proper?
And I like how they're tying things more to in-game stuff rather than just "the gods are throwing a competition" thing - the 'teth have a good reason for doing this, and a means by which to get everyone to cooperate - the staff.
So really, that's it? A two month long event, with a couple weeks with of days, where nothing happens? Just to get a new format of giving out the staff? I'm officially disappointed in this event.
Please someone let me know if I'm missing something.
did every cyrenian go to whine college or somethin? lots of people had fun with the event, we don't even know if this is the actual end of it (do you really think tsol'teth will hold staff games with literally no further plot or character progression?), half of cyrene got rewritten on extremely short notice, and there were like 3 climaxes at once at one point.

This was sarcastic, right? There's no indication that this storyline is anywhere near finished running its course, and one of the lead producers had to take a break very recently due to illness; all of this was posted. Frankly, with so much happening on every front of this event in a dynamic/reactive way, I'm surprised it's moved along as quickly as it has. The quality and depth of interaction has all been very satisfying.

You're probably missing something. I doubt that was the entire reason behind the event - Tesha giving up the staff was kind of a spur of the moment thing they weren't expecting. There might be more coming from the event over time - we'll see.
And I wouldn't say nothing happened. A city was occupied and reclaimed at great cost. Strange alliances were formed and broken. Hashan and Targossas took stances against the rest of the cities. A lot has actually happened, and most of it's been related to how the players are reacting, rather than mechanical changes or additions. Certain people who shall remain nameless notwithstanding, tons of people have had a lot of fun over the past two months.
Even if this was just to get a new format for the games, it was a great way to do it.
More than most events (barring like bal'met), this has been an event that's forced players and characters to reconsider how they view the world around them, how they define their own morality, and how they'll move on from now. The event was largely defined by reactions to the Tsol'teth, rather than what the Tsol'teth did themselves, and that's something that's both more interesting than the average story event in achaea or most games, and something that'll depend on you actually making an effort to grasp.
If you were just expecting an npc to dump exposition on you then tell you what to do, then yeah maybe you'll be unsatisfied. But at some point people have to play actual characters rather than vessels waiting to get DM'd.
Dont get me wrong, I've enjoyed everything up to this point, and yes I'd rather he be ok and healthy then this event take a speedier course. I hope the story is far from over, but if ask we get is the new tournament format then yes I'll be disappointed.
@Lenn yeah sure Cyrene got a makeover and I like some of it, but that's just superficial. We are already planning to fix all that, and more that most likely it will go back to the way it was. So nothing preeminent there, unless we can't rebuild.
@Kaedan I hope your right. That would be pretty neat and would remove some of the disappointment.
But if that is all that becomes of this in the grand scheme of things, for me at least, it will have been a huge build up to a lackluster ending.
Also with this being the first event I've actually been around for, or participated in I could be very easily missing the point of what big events like this are used for.
'Getting' anything isn't the point. The point is that there was a disruption in the world and it has led to a lot of alliances and perspectives being shaken up, and characters being given an amazing chance to develop from it. You're only going to get out of this event what you put into it, just like almost anything in the game. For those who have been putting in the effort to involve themselves, the vast majority have walked away so far with a lot to take away.
if you couldnt do anything to get cyrene back how come skye was working on getting cyrene back and helped you get cyrene back
That's a question that I'd like to legitimately know the answer to, because I'd really like to know how to engage more with events in that manner. Everything I tried either hit brick walls or the trail ran out.

As Kaedan and Issam said, the event is nowhere near done. There's still the chance for more Tsol'teth trickery and unknown unknowns popping up. The games were just something that happened to fall in the middle of this, and I think the Tsol'teth being involved is going to make things interesting and dicey.
There will probably be a final word after the games, but it does sound like it's a wrap. I think this is a great development. I wanted the Tsol'teth to get rekt but it seems like that's definitely not gonna happen. But it also seems like the 'teth are being developed beyond 2D Bad Guy (what Targossas has been saying for a while, credit where credit is due) so it will be interesting to see how the two tarins interact over time!
More importantly, I can finally go to the Underrealm probably! Ahhhh! 😁
On the surface it's just a tournament, but now we get the chance to investigate, gather information, explore... and hopefully kill a lot of people throughout whatever is unfolding.
I'm excited.
"Alas. Alas for Hamlin. The Mayor sent east, west, north, and south. To offer the Piper by word of mouth. Wherever it was men's lot to find him, silver and gold to his heart's content. If only he'd return the way he went."
Your 2,037 page document entitled "Cyrenean Reparation Demands Against the Tsol'Teth" is ready for download. Would you like your document in PDF or EPUB format?
Reparations? Hm. Well, it would be nice if we could pluck part of the nameless population in Hashan and Targossas, and shackle them into a towering prison spire, where their frostbitten shells rot to the point that even a leper would cringe at the sight.
Then we could place their carcasses throughout the continent with clay bowls and signs asking for donations to help repair the city.
Though if it were up to me personally they would be lobotomized in the lab, and sent across the streets carrying the same signs and bowls. Drooling smiles along their charitable tasks.
But that's me. I prefer the humane route.
It would never happen of course, but it would be lovely.

Good strategy, 10/10 planning, definitely no admin post in the near future telling you all to shut the hell up.

Cyrene got a makeover, which is probably the most blatant thing.
Hashan got shaken up by their alliance as well.

Cyrene should demand reparations.

To Sapience, this war was a brutal fight for hard-won survival rife with betrayal, death, and complex politics.
To the tsol'teth, this was just a research project to give the weapons something to do for a while.
