Let's stay on task, please, folks. I love reaction GIFs of Tina Fey as much as the next hapless moderator/insane deity, but they should stay out of on-topic discussions.
Probably being a little biased here but the Templars were a pretty functional house (except for the lack of visible and active patron) with a full roster, active officers, a clear and defined RP. It needed some improvements in some areas but it had a pretty defined role for Good. Moving forward its unclear to me if I can just submit another house charter similar, especially when the directions we've received so far seem like what the Templars were already doing.
Can we have a city already I swear to god if I miss something to the shallam clan one more time because rp clans do not exist im going to break something.
Yeah...no. I'm actually glad we don't have that shiny new city just yet.
Also, SETALIAS CT CLAN REFUGEES TELL works wonders.

I'd rather take my time ensuring that the foundations for the new city's RP are solid before I place my foot on a single stone of the city itself.
Being ignored means the other person doesn't want anything further to do with
you, and you're better off just letting it drop at that. Be judicious in using
the few communication channels still open to you. If you know someone is
ignoring you, and you go ahead and try to find ways to make them pay attention
to you, you may be entering the harassment arena, which may or may not result
in the Administration's involvement.
@achilles I mean we saved enough of it... Templar Historians FTW. I mean I think Templars were probably the most functional house in shallam. Our numbers were consistent, we always managed to move people through the path, and there were checks in place to ensure quality as opposed to some houses where it's just hand you whatever. Knighthood you have always had to work for.
(Blades of Valour): He just has that Synbios Swagger enough said. (Blades of Valour): Draekar says: "Synbios if sunbeams sparkle off that I'll kill you where you stand."
(Party) Halos says, "Disbar?" (Party) Draekar says, "You know here we have disbar." (Party) Draekar says, "And over there we have datbar."
That sounds like a generally boring concept though..im not even sure how it could be played out. "Sir i've made a discovery that molasses is hated by dervish!" "Excellent!"
It could be basically the counter of the Occultists. Do similar research/experiments/etc. but for the other side.
That being said, I'm personally absolutely fine with just burning heretics, alternatively! I just don't want another "Let's gather knowledge for the sake of knowledge and not actually do anything!" House - particularly since I'd probably have to join it eventually (since I'm magi).
Relaxing the class restrictions for Houses would be nice. Though, I'd hate to see it done in a way that results in people ignoring class RP even more. I think there's a good way to do it and a bad way to do it, and it'd have to be done carefully.
I liked what happened when we added classes slowly like blademaster (Sentaari and Templars were allowed to be them) and we experimented. It's happened a few times across the board the trick is to do it slowly instead of all at once. Anything we do with houses is going to be a process. There are just entirely too many things to plan from novice paths all the way through whatever kind of full membership there is it takes time. Some of it can be done on the fly but any combination of classes is going to get complicated fast.

I should rephrase what I ment Rp clans do not exist in my clan setup. seting an alias for ct won't help me when I Accidently type clt5 instead of clt6 I use all my clans so moving it doesn't help me a bit
The longer the limbo goes on, the fewer unworthy people will be there for the final, glorious product. Keep dragging it out, by all means. The Revs wandered for a pretty damn long time.

To be fair, I don't think the Revs wandering around for a long time resulted in only the worthy remaining. The clan basically died out entirely by the time Babel returned. It was just rebuilt afterwards and only the worthy were inducted!
Fair enough. I wasn't saying it was a perfect analogy, rather was just attempting to illustrate the point "good things come to those who wait." The logic I explained in my first sentence in the above post still applies to ex-Shallam, I think.
This is why I wish they'd left it a little longer to introduce Deucalion. Not enough time for uncertainty and falling away, imo.
Imo, the admin should have left Shallam completely abandoned and without a safe room and had someone announce that they were all open pk. Trial by fire!
As for House concepts around role to be played, I really do hope that you get to create things that are role-based rather than class-role-forced. I was always amazed at how the Merchants differed from other Houses because, while still teaching class skills, their whole role was something that transcended mechanically how your character killed denizens and adventurers. I hope the Shallam playerbase gets to enjoy something like that as well. It was absolutely amazing while it lasted for the Merchants.
It was attempted somewhat and then restrictions were put in place to remove the OMG any classness but unfortunately that concept escapes a lot of people. It's hard when you grow up in guild mindset to change. But it does make things unique.

I made aliases to have ct ht hw and cw work for the right clans. Haven't mischanned since. And you can move your clans to a line up almost similar to your previous line up before the clean slate happened. Problem solved.
Thought I'd just add in my thoughts on this matter. <I am a pretty inactive Shallamese player, only have one character, no artefacts, very low ranked in my past house, and pretty bad at fighting.>
After returning, I thought it was an extremely cool event. <I did miss it however> But the mere fact that something so important happening actually made me happy. Yes, I understand that it was MY city that I've come to love be destroyed, but I'm willing to take the repercussions for such an epic event. As to all of the work each member of Shallam has put into the city, I do feel bad about that however, but I think that its good that such a major icon of Achaea was destroyed.
It shows that Sapience is not safe, anything could happen. It means that the players won't waddle on in safety within their city, doing the same things each day.
I would have loved to be in Shallam when it happened, for the roleplaying, as I don't really get to do anything too interesting roleplay wise anymore with my character. All I've ever done is pretty much my house advancements.
But, as someone who doesn't really have a significant input into ANYTHING, I can't really say whether it was fair or not. I can't compete when it comes to fights, and my roleplaying is lacking somewhat. So I'm not really in the position to say "I couldn't stop it from happening, its not fair etc etc". I'm just one of those bystanders, a normal citizen of Shallam, and from my relatively powerless position: I think its damn cool.
