Chaoscalm does approximately fuck all these days, except against doppleganger being used at range. If you want to kill entities you'll need to use your bashing attack, though running is generally the better option (especially if you have Piety up to prevent them immediately following).
Two free slashes on a limb when they summon, and I get a chance to clear my diagnose. Besides, I can pretty much re-kill it before they get equilibrium back from summoning.
That's a race I can't lose. God forbid I want to perma stick monkshood/kalmia and curare. Knight vs Occultist is adorable. Then again, I was a surgeon with those venoms.
Curare + gecko/monkshood bypasses parry AND shuts down offense? No other class has to worry about something so stupid. Luckily, most knights don't know how to venom.
It is a common courtesy not to just intakill ents vs Occultists, because it is such a stupid mechanic. Like before current Golgotha, Paladins/Priests wouldn't just kill minion and Banishment, because why fight.
Is there a way to use your scabbard as something like a shield? or do BM really don't have anything to shield them with from incoming damage?
Like Daeir said, Mir is a flat damage reduction against (nearly) every damage type in the game. It's a great asset to have, especially unartied where things are hurting pretty bad.
Also getting Toughness in Shindo will help with cutting damage.
Outside of that, consistently hunting with Runes from Runewardens can help you a lot too. I know Ashtan usually has people willing to give them for free to our young players.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
Impaleslashes are a pretty good indication of what's coming. Beyond that, forcing them to evade past a wall etc on a double leg break might give you enough time to stand and run away before you get brokenstar'd.
As a side note, some people tend to underestimate the simplicity and speed of airfist and blademaster prepping in general - it's straightforward and fast. If you see airfist, your parry is getting bypassed via rng.
If you can hinder, treat them like monks by messing up their limb count by intentionally hitting rebounding/use clumsiness etc.

Does Chaoscalm work around this or do I just have to flee the room?

Lagua has a secondary description but the others don't, so they're the same as for swords?

To double break at least.

- What does dehydrate do and how long does it last for?
- Does disloyalty affect a magi's golem?
Trying to think of ways to slow down their salve hinder but staffstrike isn't affected by clumsiness and magi can attack with one uncrippled arm.The four hits to break, 6 second restoration heal on top of burn/salve pressure is pretty rough.
