Please address this with care. It is a sensitive matter.
Took me a minute, good one!
  • You relax your grip.
    6361h (100%), 4521m (97%), 26660e (100%), 18747w (98%) 74.7 excdbkr|- [let cl]
You take an orb sigil from a box of stasis.
    6361h (100%), 4521m (97%), 26660e (100%), 18747w (98%) 74.7 excdbkr|- [let cl]
You begin to wield an orb sigil in your left hand.
    6361h (100%), 4521m (97%), 26660e (100%), 18747w (98%) 74.7 excdbkr|- [let cl]
Your aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
The power of the Emperor of Chaos would render that sigil useless

Does Chaoscalm work around this or do I just have to flee the room?
  • Chaoscalm does approximately fuck all these days, except against doppleganger being used at range. If you want to kill entities you'll need to use your bashing attack, though running is generally the better option (especially if you have Piety up to prevent them immediately following).
  • DSL bloodleech x 2. RIP Occie offense.

  • Do weapon runes do anything different for dual blunt than for edged weapons?

    Example:
Lagua has a secondary description but the others don't, so they're the same as for swords?
  • Right. And lagua doesn't do what it says.

Isn't the resummoning (ent) balance pretty short though?

  • Two free slashes on a limb when they summon, and I get a chance to clear my diagnose. Besides, I can pretty much re-kill it before they get equilibrium back from summoning.

That's a race I can't lose. God forbid I want to perma stick monkshood/kalmia and curare. Knight vs Occultist is adorable. Then again, I was a surgeon with those venoms.

Curare + gecko/monkshood bypasses parry AND shuts down offense? No other class has to worry about something so stupid. Luckily, most knights don't know how to venom.

It is a common courtesy not to just intakill ents vs Occultists, because it is such a stupid mechanic. Like before current Golgotha, Paladins/Priests wouldn't just kill minion and Banishment, because why fight.

On the contrary, some people did do that. We just call those people Darroth. Steaming piles of Darroth.

    @Mizik

  • Yo, those drunk sentence fragments, tho.

Pro 1am typing skillz. Abstract thought city.

  • I don't think I can afford to go after ents as 2h. I lack the speed of dual cutting or SnB.
  • You're .9s slower. And I think I recalll 2H bashing being rebalanced, but does it no longer one shot ents?
    image
  • Hmm how does disloyalty affect ents?

  • Just can't attack with them.

I havent tested recently but the last time I went after a humbug it took like 3-5 hits.
  • I thought disloyalty was changed to increase ent balance rather than stop them completely.

  • You're right.

    * Disloyalty affliction now interacts better with Domination entities. Instead of refusing an active
order, they will do it begrudgingly at a higher cost to command balance. The passive effects have
    not changed.

  • Is there a way to use your scabbard as something like a shield? or do BM really don't have anything to shield them with from incoming damage?

Like Daeir said, Mir is a flat damage reduction against (nearly) every damage type in the game. It's a great asset to have, especially unartied where things are hurting pretty bad.

Also getting Toughness in Shindo will help with cutting damage.

Outside of that, consistently hunting with Runes from Runewardens can help you a lot too. I know Ashtan usually has people willing to give them for free to our young players.

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
  • How to avoid dying to Blademaster's double break brokenstar?
  • Impaleslashes are a pretty good indication of what's coming. Beyond that, forcing them to evade past a wall etc on a double leg break might give you enough time to stand and run away before you get brokenstar'd.

As a side note, some people tend to underestimate the simplicity and speed of airfist and blademaster prepping in general - it's straightforward and fast. If you see airfist, your parry is getting bypassed via rng.

If you can hinder, treat them like monks by messing up their limb count by intentionally hitting rebounding/use clumsiness etc.

  • Alternatively, Robes of the Magi make you Blademaster immune.

    To double break at least.

Dat no pre impslash quadbreak tho. Always felt good to do when I was Blademaster.

  • Yep, they are kinda like monks with airfist and breaks. Straight and fast prep, no affs to keep track off, just rng parry bypassing.

  • Intelligent pre apply against blademasters and dragons can be good.

  • Are flails simply definitively the best weapon for shatter these days?
  • Didn't they change shatter to always be a +1 limb break no matter which weapon used?

Yes, so if you don't care about health damage, any weapon with under 3s balance is equally good (which means morningstars or L3 flails).
  • A few quick questions about magi.
    • What does dehydrate do and how long does it last for?
    • Does disloyalty affect a magi's golem?
Trying to think of ways to slow down their salve hinder but staffstrike isn't affected by clumsiness and magi can attack with one uncrippled arm.

The four hits to break, 6 second restoration heal on top of burn/salve pressure is pretty rough.

  • After transing my three main skills, what mini skills should I focus on as a Blademaster?
