Its overhead projector acetate lined with hot glue. Just draw the shapes, do the glue, stick it together, form the alien goop, stick a light in it It needs to be resilient enough for players to be able to touch and handle it. And drop it. And throw it. Etc.

Clearly in preparation for the Gauntlet, I went to play an escape room game as a birthday present to one of my colleagues here. We escaped, decided to pick up guns and saunter our way out.

Very well designed. You had to open your ears and eyes to all sorts of clues, and had to remember clues given to you from before.
