Can we have more groups, similar to the army? So we can have miners in groups, soldiers in groups, and then possibly a 'deploy group# here' command to deploy entire said group in current room (If it fits)?
@Sarapis: New idea - why not make the gold drains Achaea-monthly instead of Achaea-daily, and scale the costs to match?
Because some mines will get mined out faster than that and there is no need. If someone can't manage to keep a basic amount of cash in the bank for cashflow purposes they probably shouldn't be running a mining business.

Someone said iron might be spawning around serenade, and then all being claimed right away. Any truth to that? Cause if there's a set timer that makes the lodes spawn at the same times every day would suck balls for us EU players. We want to mine too!

I don't think this is the case, or if it is, it's been at least a couple of days of slow iron extraction. There are like no lodes anywhere right now. If the lode spawning is partly based on the amount of commodities currently in circulation (with Iron being the one in primary use for uh.. building more mines), I get the feeling we'll be waiting on those new lodes for some time. A lot of us, myself included are now sitting on a bunch of coal (mostly) and other comms (like the hoarders we are)
they seem to spawn randomly in a period of a few hours after the previous lode collapsed - might be wrong though, that's the impression I'm getting
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
I don't imagine we're going to reveal the exact criteria under which new lodes spawn, but suffice it to say they do not spawn at a set time.
As it seems lodes are spawned based on relative production of commodities (putting out as much of x commodity as the Garden wants at any particular point), is it possible that there would be times when there are no new lodes at all, of any kind? Or more drastically, times when there are no mines and no lodes at all?
You are enough of a prospector to realise there is no lode here and no point looking for one. You are enough of prospector to I there is no lode here and no point looking one. Yep. If people just mine out everything, that could happen for awhile. It's necessary in order to control the overall rate of production of comms.
Got a bit of a plan we're working on here to potentially ameliorate the no lodes thing.
My two cents. The inability to put more than three squads per room in the stronghold effectively limiting my men to 240 vs Medi's full 480 has cost me all of my reservists. Sweet that this was corrected, but too late.
Now I can't level up my men at all: No free lodes, and whenever my guys get a level, they get wiped by Xer and the other mining bullies.
Still, need more opportunities to train legions. I'd suggest miner-like units, drillmasters, who have an hourly cost but do not provide comms. They'd use up legion space like miners, and would slowly train units in the same area or army as they are. Otherwise, there's literally no way to stand back up once you've been gangbanged to oblivion.
Edit: Could simulate some attrition by making a random unit die from time to time due to overworking.
Don't suppose we could open up another place to get wood - between mining and housing the price has seemingly permanently doubled. Unless that was the intent, of course..

I've found 400 wood stocks at Ulangi every time I've gone to shop.

I have likely just been spoiled by the times when I could do a circuit and end up with 3k+ wood. When you're looking to get 10k+, 400 at a time just feels so incredibly slow. On the other hand, I do have access to a lot of cheap stone now, which is nice.

Islands are also still a steady and reliable supply of wood at 26 per.

I don't think additional ways to train soldiers are needed. Yes, if you lose all of your soldiers you'll be much more vulnerable, but you will still be able to train. If you are concerned about getting wiped out again, rotate soldiers. Have them on 'patrols' every 6, 12, or 24 hours. Are people targeting you specifically? Find friends, citymates, etc, that can help counter attack (if player Y is attacking you with a force, and you know they have a mine or two, then the fact that they are attacking means they are more vulnerable.)
@Sarapis, would it be possible to add some kind of cooldown after assaulting a mine? Perhaps those squads cannot be redeployed for 3-5 minutes? I have heard of players attacking someone's mine, then vacating and allowing a citymate or such to attack and claim the mine. I don't mind this mechanic at all, but I think that it allows the attacker to retreat their forces to defend their mines immediately. A cooldown might help add an extra level of strategic thinking to trying to capture mines as part of a group.

More Gold/Silver/Carbon mines? More ANY mines?
