Does the attacker get to use their full army in each room, against the defender's 3 squads per room? Or if the attacker is also limited to 3 at a time per room, how does it choose which 3 to use?
I figured I would copy this over from the rants thread, as it might get more visibility here.

Yes. Yes they do.
Having watched one of these fights from the inside, it's pretty uneven. EDIT: At least, that's what it looked like from the inside. Suppose it might not be, but it seemed like it.
The larger the mine, the faster the training of soldier squads. Therefore, the more the miners in your mine, the better the experience gain for your soldier squads.

Your mine located at <redacted> has been closed due to lack of funding. Your mine located at <redacted> has been closed due to lack of funding.
..Okay. Shame on me - I had lost track of the gold in my bank account. But the result is, my people marched out of the mines, the mines were deconstructed, and anything in storage was cleared out.
I had to spend comms to rebuild the mines, spend gold to reset the miners, and I've essentially wasted all of the comms that were left in storage. And now, there are TWO signs at each spot that say that the mine is mine. It really, really sucks.
Is there any way to give a bit of prior notice before this happens? Is there any way that one could at least keep the mines open long enough to put gold in the bank and re-establish miners/guards? Is there any way to have the Storage delivered into my inventory when this happens? I know I 'dun goofed here, but it seems a bit ridiculous. :frown:

I think something similar to the ship strongbox thing should be used. Gives you a headsup via message when your funds are running low. It might also be nice to have a 10 minute window (similar to the length of time it takes a depleted mine to collapse) when your accounts are dry to add funds.
I don't agree with storage being delivered if a mine is shut down due to lack of funds. First, it would cost you an amount of gold normally to retrieve that storage, which isn't available (unless they took the gold from your inventory). Second, there should be consequences when you forget or did not make certain preparations (and I say this having lost two large mines when mining first went in due to lack of funding).
On the plus side, you get to keep the experience your squads gained.
definitely would be nice to have a config option like with strongboxes where the crew mentally notifies you of when funds are running low, at a configurable "warn at this number of achaean days remaining"
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
I think some of the suggestions here are missing the point that this isn't supposed to be easy. It isn't supposed to be forgiving when you make a mistake or to help you avoid making one.
You can already calculate exactly the funds you need. Adding a warning just makes the whole thing easier and more forgiving. Avoiding running out of money is part of the game, another thing that gives the more careful and calculating a leg up over the competition - a leg that disappears if everyone gets a friendly warning before anything bad happens. Ship strongboxes, for instance, aren't really the same - they're just a gold sink and seafaring isn't really a system designed to pit people's financial acumen against one another in the same way.
While some degree of convenience is reasonable, losing big investments because you made a preventable mistake and having to successfully manage your own bookkeeping seem very much intentional parts of the system judging from Sarapis's posts.

Totally disagree, at least in regards to possibly sending a message regarding your accounts. I think most people who are continuing to engage in mining are aware of the costs and of their accounts. However, life does come up. Things happen. I don't think it's fair to punish people because of that. A message with a 3 hour warning (or something like that) isn't going to make the whole thing much easier.

It should go to iphone notification or FB message too.
And Lo, within one week all of Sapience was strip mined and left to die as a hollow husk.
Well, you know what they say:

I'm going to go around cleaning out a few of these 90% mined mines so we get a few new pops while the gods are at play.
You are welcome.
Edit: That said, if you know an area that have a few bothering you send me a quick message and I'll try to mop them up when I can. Wood and Iron donations welcome :pleased:

If you end up taking that 100% coal lode, tell me how much you get out of it!
LEGION RECRUIT SQUAD <ID> FOR <gold> - There are a number of rogue miners and guards loitering around mining camps, looking for adhoc jobs. With attractive gold offering, you are able to recruit new unit into an existing squad that is less than 20 units. You need to have enough gold in your bank account for the recruiting fee.
Please god, some way to expand your undermanned squads, or have them regen slowly, or something. It's making me sad.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Sarapis already said there's no intention to refresh or combine squads (adding fresh soldiers is effectively combining) because he doesn't want to deal with XP averaging, etc.
It's completely intended that your more used/stronger squads get worn down over time.

Aye, otherwise you would have people with full sets of max level squads completely dominating the scenes if they could restore the loses. Now, if you could consolidate members of a stronger squad in a weaker squad and it became the level of the lower one, that may be fair.
Example: Squad 1: lvl 5, 6 men strong Squad 2: lvl 3, 12 men strong
There is a bug that if your storage increases between the time that you start the claim and the time the claim processes you lose that increase. I woke up to 580 iron in storage, I began a claim, checked it again and it had risen to 638. After the tithe I received 551 iron and my storage was at 0 iron. I lost 58 iron because it was added to the storage between the time I filed a claim and received the claim. Be careful until they fix this.

Does the size of the mine make it level up quicker? Or just allow more squads to level up?
