Intensive RP with Targossas. Or, at least, a certain one(s).
Whoo boy, I feel like Ryssa wont be able to hunt in peace much on the mainland, heh. Still, very interesting seeing things as they saw them, and realizing there are more facets to her memories than just her view.
Making things more difficult? Yes. But, enriching her story? Yes.
Plus, it's kinda fun to see people try to coax her stubborn spirit.
No library burnings, though. That'll merit a warhammer to the face.
I will burn the Library of the Ram whenever I want...
unless @Aurora says I can't, then I guess I can't. But silence is definitely a yes.
The Divine voice of Twilight echoes in your head, "See that it is. I espy a tithe of potential in your mortal soul, Astarod Blackstone. Let us hope that it flourishes and does not falter as so many do."
Aegis, God of War says, "You are dismissed from My demense, Astarod. Go forth and fight well. Bleed fiercely, and climb the purpose you have sought to chase for."
Posted on behalf of @Mezghar, a waterlord defending the water plane, who has trouble accessing forums because he is blind (his player, not his character):
Astarod tells you, "I'll remember that whenever you decide to go after an honors mob."
Astarod tells you, "Enjoy the atlatls."
You tell Astarod, "I am sworn to defend the Alcazar, as I'm sure you are sworn to defend the Coterie."
Astarod tells you, "Call it whatever you will, I'll be sworn to defend the next several hunts you go after."
You tell Astarod, "And I will kill you instead of whining about it. We each have our way."
Astarod tells you, "Oh? I'd love to kill you. But you won't even fight."
Astarod tells you, "Just wand of reflections then go to guards where your blind ass has a chance."
No, there's no defense brigade. It's not that this is indefensible (which it is - indefensible), it's just not how I want myself, or anyone else to act.
I fully admit I was an ass in this instance, and that this is no way to treat someone. I was thoughtless in a moment of spite, and it's definitely not the first time I have been. For what it's worth, I'll take the next couple of days to re-evaluate how I handle instances like this and see what I can change to try to make situations of frustration better instead of making them worse.
When I return, if possible, I'll let Mezghar know that I'm sorry. It's not that I don't want anyone to convey a message for me, but I'd prefer to apologize to him directly since he is definitely owed one from myself.
I think I'll try as @Sobriquet just pointed out and dial it down on some of the insults/trash in tells, which seems to sometimes be prevalent in combat/ganks. I'm sure it doesn't help anyone, and it certainly won't help the situation if I'm already frustrated.

Wow, very adult reaction man. But you're not just gonna cold turkey, I mean, what's Astarod without a "I will fuck you up" tell before a rampage?
Always happy to see people step back and get a different perspective on their personal emotions in a game we all play. But some kids just throw the board game across the room when they lose, that's kust life!
Serial douchebag acts like a colossal douchebag yet again and makes fun of another players disability but because he didn’t use the N or F word the administration does nothing but like his bs apology post. Gg guys
@Gurklukke Oh gawd, that person makes a novice we just got today (who had never RP'ed before so was using all the usual abbreviations and all-caps) look like a model RPer
EDIT: Just looked up who they were and legit wanna know how someone makes it that long in Achaea. The motto...

Pretty easy when RP standards are at an all-time low, and anything takes forever (if at all) to actually get enforced.
See: Ysera, who had 'the Dreamer' title for like a RL year or so. Along with a description that looked exactly like the WoW char, and a motto being one of her quotes about 'the Dream'.
Or having 'The Avatar' as a title forever.
It shouldn't really come as any surprise, honestly. These are just two of many examples.
Can't forget about succubois, too.
Disappearing from Achaea for now. See you, space cowboy.
I once knew of an adventurer whose in-game soul would depart from their body if there was ever a fight that wasn't a 100% guaranteed win - while their soul was quite comfy in their body when there were free kills to collect - which very strangely, when viewed from a purely OOC perspective, made it look like they were very good at fighting. That same person actually swore "Shecks will never be unenemied to (city) as long as I'm the MoS" despite having never met or interacted with Shecks a single time (literally ever).
Personally, I can't claim to be a bastion of RP (I do try but I'm not amazing and admit it, especially when it comes to RPing with people who I perceive as OOC griefers), but there are definitely some people that shouldn't be pointing fingers or riding around on any imaginary high horses when it comes to Roleplaying best-practices or the concept of playing for everyone to win, not just yourself.
People should RP if they want to, and definitely should not be guilt-tripped into it by forum trolls, or anyone else. There's a line where things can go too far into insanity, and in my experience, the game admin do just fine at dealing with it, relative to the fairly small amount of harm it can do.
Staying in character is not the same thing as mandating roleplay. Maybe you're equating the two. I'm not condoning people going OOC like the example above.
Hi guys. It's been a little while since I've popped my head on here and said hello.
I experience burnout every 3 months or so, but I've been back for a week and have been working on forging!
The deafening sound of a hammer striking metal thunders in your ears and you realise with awe that
Iohanna has attained the status of Master Blacksmith.
I know we go back and forth on here like bickering siblings a lot, as was said previously, but I just wanted to say thank you to the people that were genuinely wholesome yesterday when this happened. Now I have a little whisper in the back of my mind, "That genuinely felt good, keep going."
Just gotta add turn cycling (yes, it'll be playable between 2 people who have it!), and fix my card capturing code, and it'll be good to go. And I guess add more than 12 cards. Maybe I'll add some of players.
Disappearing from Achaea for now. See you, space cowboy.

How's that for a typo...
Your aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
Taking hold of a curved sword of shifting shadows with a firm two-handed grip, you hew savagely at Ploutos's left leg.
As you carve into Ploutos, you perceive that you have dealt 14.4% damage to his left leg.
The final blow proves too much for bastard, who falls to the floor a broken, bloody mess.
You have slain Ploutos.

incoming defense brigade
I would like to think not even Astarod would try and defend that, proves he's still 13yrs old at heart.
I defended Air Plane from Tofi once and got called a petty little cu*t, at least that could be considered IC 😅

@Morthif He got shrubbed for 3 days.
Seems a bit light
Reasons I only talk to a choice few Eleusians who stay in character.
That being said, we are keeping a running log of the OOC trolling and cursing for the lulz.
Roleplay a little bit, it's worth it I promise.

"Being Shecks" is a pretty valid reason to keep someone enemied.

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I think everyone should probably follow the rules instead of suggesting that people should be able to “RP if they want to.”

Staying in character is literally what role play is. You are playing a role. The role is your character.
Of course I’m equating the two because they are literally the same thing.
no i am a irl sentinel
Yeh, and I'm an argumentive grumpy old....
He might have a point.
And I'm an arrogant, slightly egotistical...shit, he got me too.
I mean, Prythe is an old loving helpful curmud... oh.

- Let me get my hat and my knife

Hard to take someone seriously about "staying IC" when they ignore people in-game over forums/Discord comments. Not that I'm surprised or anything.
I mean it is Shecks so it's hard to take him seriously anyway but yeah.

@Iohanna Congratulations!
I made Triple Triad from Final Fantasy 8/14 but in Achaea.
Almost finished!
