Sentinels used to fill that role of 'hunter' and 'woodsman' which are a common sight in medieval cities. They would hunt for meat, furs, etc to fill up larders. I wonder if a future class could fill up this position, now that sentinels are nature only.

Eh. What matters is how many classes total each city has access to, not how many other cities also have the class, if not all do. It's more like:

Mhaldor: Infernal/Apostate/Alchemist
Targossas: Priest/Paladin/Alchemist
Eleusis: Sylvan/Sentinel/Druid
Ashtan: Occultist/Alchemist
Hashan: Occultist/Alchemist
Cyrene: Alchemist

Cyrene gets most screwed, and then Hashan because you choose to play Occultist there aware of the prospect that it could eventually be fictionalised to Ashtan only, since it's clearly tied to that faction. Then Ashtan because they only get two instead of three.

But adding more factional classes would be a bad idea. New content being available to everyone will generate more total interest and fun in the game. Would rather somehow defactionalise classes (maybe neutral "versions" of each class with completely different flavor but same mechanics, to preserve RP). Can't see that happening anytime soon though.

I could be wrong, but I am fairly sure them not willing to make more factional classes  means they are unwilling to limit widely usable classes (Occultist) to just one faction too. 

Though I suppose Babel could do it.
