Would recommend changing it so that it can either be picked back up to remove the effect (or perhaps once it's placed the effect stays until the figurine automatically resets?), or allowing the undead effect to be granted to new crew.

Everything about you is obscured by a heavy fog. Dense sugar and red maples huddle together tightly,
their pointed leaves rustling gently in occasional gusts of wind. At various heights small patches
of greenery are pruned away, their sharp, angular edges framing the circular lookout points. Several
guards are posted here, viewing the leafy, picturesque scenes through each twiggy porthole, while
monitoring movement in and out of Eleusis. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. A sigil
in the shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. There are 5 earthen elementalists
here. Standing still as a statue, a blood steed has fixed its fiery red eyes on some movement in the
distance. A miniature panda cub is here, nose sniffing the ground. A crystalline golem stands here.
A nebulous water weird is here. A graceful Pillar of the Moon has been erected here. Shravan,
Initiate of the Ithmia is here. He is surrounded by one reflection of himself.

Worth noting, there are occasions where the death of the owner results in the pet dropping all the corpses.
Or is literally the only use people have for that functionality currently to have it hold corpses?
If the latter, I feel like the number of items in general they can carry should be limited - though I imagine people will find ways around this regardless
