Does anybody have numbers or experience with bashing using a
one-handed artifact weapon wielded in dragonform as opposed to gutting?
Assuming 20-21 STR (level 2-3 gauntlets). I know @Penwize seemed to use
what I assume was a level 3 dirk/dagger in
dragonform rather than gutting all the time, but I'm not sure of numbers
versus price (1600 credits for a level 3 isn't cheap). I assume that attack speed and critical hit chance would factor in as well.
Any one-handed artifact weapon, mind. I'm not necessarily all that picky.
If it were actually a decent improvement, I'd probably
consider picking one up at some point, but if it isn't worth bothering
with, then I doubt I will.
(Unfortunately Penwize doesn't seem to be around for me to ask.)
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
wasn't the artifact dirk nerfed to only do a flat amount of damage if not used with serpent abilities?
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
What's the bonus on golden braid? I'm trying to figure out why the credit market went from regularly being around ~5800 per to now being up to ~6300 per in the span of a week or so. Is it just Seragorn + Jhui looping Annwyn/UW with golden braid + EQ gem or have people just generally given up on mining and are no longer selling credits, so things are back to normal + swinging high from fluctuation?
Trying to prove a point that cfs is built to continually go up. The fact it stays at 6k is because of people's good nature... I'm not buying/reselling higher but I legitimately could turn that into a source of income of I wanted and just watch cfs go up and up

The fact that credits will always be in higher demand than the amount bought ooc means it should rise. Particularly so when you have people like me that buy ooc and ic credits, but only sell credits when in dire need. Over the years I have played, I would say my ic sell to buy ratio is something like 1:100 I do think ire should consider a set price and allow the player base to sell personal credits at or below that price, and have an unlimited pool at that price for purchase. I think the fact that credits have remained fairly level for the past few years is a good indication that people are willing to buy ooc AND ic at the 6000 gold threshold, and setting the threshold now ensures that in two years, novices won't be expected to pay 10k per credit(a price some would not be willing to buy at). I know the price of credits when I joined was extremely low. Honestly, if I had came in at a time when they were 6000 per, I might not have made it a week. After minia, income fizzles for a while for quite a few players.
You can toot free economy all you want. Gold drop is divine set. Quest gold is divine set. Fishing returns are divine set. Creation of gold is entirely in the hands of the admin. Because of this, they essentially set the prices for everything. I don't think credits directly joining that list would be a bad thing(it's already indirect via gold production)
If you're going to kill credit market to make a point, I feel like this already deserves it's own thread. Bound does sound like it would go over better than unbound though, @Jhui. Good call.
any city could decide to liquidate their gold into credits at any time via CFS and immediately make the value of a credit rise which would make the value of the gold they just spent increase in value...Really a no brainer for any city to do. Luckily no one does it.
Pretty dumb, imo. Imagine if a city just entrusted 1 person to game the CFS market and turn the city gold into the most credit profit they could.
Not to mention, it's just smart, because gold never has a set worth in terms of credits but a credit is always a credit, so it actually increases in value as the economy makes it increase, unlike gold.
Time to gank @Jhui????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I'd put money on mining, though. It was low and high separate from them getting those relics.
Haha, we killed Seragorn a lot during skirmishes if that counts, but between mog, lifegiver, and Occultist's escape skills, we never killed him quick enough consecutively to get the relics. He died like 7 times total throughout the night.

I wasn't paying a vast amount of attention to CFS at the time, but when the gold drops were increased, I don't recall a corresponding increase in what people were paying for credits, so it does seem that there's a relatively stable market for credits at 6000 gold each, despite the gold drops increasing greatly.

It's not so much that the gold drops increase alone had a gigantic effect on the market; it's the combination of increased gold drops on already high-yield denizens, enough artifacts to make the high-yield denizens exceedingly fast to kill, a relic that makes you hit a third faster, a relic that doubles gold generation of high-yield denizens whose gold drops were already increased, and now rare minerals that can bump the gold generation up even higher. And the minerals even make bashing faster too, with eq bonus + int + rage generation. All together, I'd be curious how much @Seragorn and @Jhui make per trip through UW or Annwyn. It's probably very easily 50 credits a day, depending on how often they go through.

Ashtan didn't spend all their gold, but I know they made a killing back in the Zambuk days by buying low and selling high.

Would one possible help be to limit a person to a single relic at a time? For example, you could have the Golden Braid or the EQ Gem, but not both at once. Call it a "more than one relic by one person has conflicting magical signatures that prevent use" limit or some magicbabble.
It wouldn't do anything about regular artifacts or rare minerals, though.

Then they should be made easier to obtain, or be spread out where a denizen can only hold one at a time. Most of those denizens who regularly hold the relics are a lot of work to kill.
@Tecton, are the potted flowers meant to smell like anything when you SMELL POT/FLOWER, or are they meant to be in atmospheric messages? The way the announce post was written makes me think it's the former.

It's pretty sickening.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
