Personally, I think the crit pendant wins out. It's 150cr cheaper and there's really nothing that speeds your bashing up as much as a crit pendant does. Between those two, there's really no difference in PvP effect either, as neither of those will have any benefits.

Anyone that uses Svo's refiller know of a way to make it work with artifact vials? Arti vials don't list any more in whatever it uses to check for them, and I dislike having to manually fill vials. Does anyone know of a way to make it work like it's supposed to?
I also brought this up with Vadi ages ago but never heard back anything about it.
(D.M.A.): Cooper says, "Kyrra is either the most innocent person in the world, or the girl who uses the most innuendo seemingly unintentionally but really on purpose."
I started looking for the earlier specific Sena (tm) posts to give the formulas, but they actually ended up being all over the place in bits and pieces, so here's the summary:
Garrote Damage: 320+4*DamageStat
Garrote Speed: 7-SpeedStat/50 minus dex bonus
Dex Bonus: First Sena comment: "It actually seems to be 6% balance reduction per point of dexterity if garrote is above a certain balance time (not sure exactly where that point is), 7% per point of dexterity for garrotes slower than whatever the cutoff point is. If there's a cap, it's at least 17 dex, but there could be diminishing returns before that."
After more testing: "So if there's a cap, it's at least 19, and there are apparently no diminishing returns. That means garrote can get down to 1.3 seconds (with 19 dex and a L3 lash), and probably down to 0.9 seconds with truefavour, +dex icon, and +dex elixir.
"If it can go down to 0.9, then a serpent with 22 dex and a L3 lash has about the same DPS as a 23 str bard/knight with a 122 damage 259 speed rapier."
Later Sena comment: "This is 6% of the base speed, so 16 dex is about 7.3% faster than 15 dex. Or with slower garrotes (which is likely if you have less than trans subterfuge), it will be 7% instead of 6%, making 16 dex about 8.9% faster than 15."
-- Level 1 Lash is worse than a normal whip - at least it used to be, can double check dps with above formula.
Also, with bashing now taking a lot more time and attacks per denizen death, crit pendants are more useful than ever.
The DPS for each, according to the formulae above with no dex bonus (rounding to nearest number): Whip:160 Lash: 157 L1 lash: 166
Not sure what they are with the dex bonuses, but as with 16 dex and nimble, I had these times on average: Whip: 2.65 secs Lash: 2.25 secs L1 Lash: 2.2 secs
Assuming damage according to formula for those speeds, DPS comes to: Whip: 231 Lash: 233 L1 Lash: 245
Level 1 Artefact Lash is still superior to either of the forged goods.

Glad that was fixed with the weapons rework - makes artes work the credits. Used to be able to get a forged whip at high 70s/low 80s damage and 170s speed without too much trouble.
A L1 whip has a non-dex affected DPS of 170, which makes it slightly better than a lash. However, there was a deal a while back when people were comparing the whips to the lashes, and we collectively decided that lashes were better DPS at higher dex. And since I don't have my own L1 whip, I can't say for certain...
But we can try to math it out. Doing some quick and dirty calculations, it should be that the L1 whip garrotes at 16 dex with nimble at 2.55 seconds, which would leave us with 246 DPS. So, about even with the L1 lash.
However, A) I'm certain that higher dex would give the lash higher DPS; Given the basically equal DPS between the two, the faster balance of the Lash makes it superior. Leaving out the belief that more hits means more crits means more DPS, faster balance means more opportunities to GTFO when needed, which as a Serpent happens more often than not.
So, if you're running high con and low dex, go for whips. If you're running high dex and low con, go with lashes.
Is the a way to pull a doll out of your pack or probe a doll that doesn't use the numbers? For instance, you can wield a doll by doing WIELD DOLL ACKNU even if you have multiple dolls and it will wield the right doll. However, if you do PROBE DOLL ACKNU, it will just probe a random doll. Same goes with a pack. I'm trying to do this because I am not super proficient at scripting and am not sure how to match up the targets with the right numbers.

Good to know.
I would like to say that as a Serpent, needing to GTFO doesn't happen very often, in my experience. Scales and scalemail are pretty good, as defense goes. Used to hunt LHG as a serp. There are tougher classes, granted, but serpent is very solid.

Use curly braces around the name.
WIELD {ACKNU}
This really needs to be made more clear in the game.
That would have completely changed my life as a shaman and I know other people who have written scripts just to keep track of the correspondence between their dolls' numbers and who they're dolls of.

Does that work with other commands? He's already said he has no problems with WIELD (making it a weird example if it does work with other commands...), it's things like PROBE and GET <x> FROM PACK that are the issue.

It should work with anything.
ANNOUNCE NEWS #4004 (12/09/2013 at 17:43) From : Tecton, the Terraformer To : Everyone Subject: Classlead updates for December 2013 - Part 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ... Puppetry/Vodun ============== - A new method has been released for interacting with all puppets and dolls. Simply wrap the person's name in curly brackets {} and it will get the matching doll. E.g. WIELD {TECTON} or PUT {TECTON} IN PACK (*).

I just picked a random command. It works with everything.

LOL, as you can see now... the description
Mending being right over left would complicate stuff. I really sincerely hope this is not the case, but if it is: fixable.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
I actually wondered about it a few months ago and found the first mention of it at June 2013: http://forums.achaea.com/discussion/1286/terraforming-updates-june-2013/p1
So it's been over two years since it was first announced. And this was "We are going to make this in the future, but the work has yet to begun"
Yea, that one!
@Jarrod, @Sena - tagging you guys, because you'll probably give me the most accurate info.
Cascades of quicksilver light streak across the firmament as the celestial voice of Ourania intones, "Oh Jarrod..."
Looks fine to me.
