I'm wondering on whats best kind of stats for leather armor.

I think every set I ever used was 32/18.

    That's a more realistic figure.

  • wow I had a 43/16 set as a Monk. Yay for Yiwen/Earionduil/Thiev all giving me free shit that would've otherwise costed me a fortune.

r.i.p in peace dual 245-unruned speed rapiers, god bless.

He asked for best, not realistic.

  • Depends on the "best" your looking for. The theoretical best, the best in existence today, the best you could reasonably pay a forger to produce are all very different numbers.

A year ago, 40/14 and 44/10 were reasonably common.  Could easily pick one up for 5k in a Hashani shop. Now I'm rocking a 30/14 because that was the best that was available from one of the bigger forgers (Peak) right now.

  • 32/18 who uses peasant armour like that :\

  • Didn't want to start a new thread so I am going to put my questions here.

    1) How viable are the knight classes holding up in combat these days. When I left Infernal was doing pretty good until some system side fixes nerfed their speed/lock capabilities, is this still true? I want to be able to lock pretty decently without having to have omgspeed rapiers. Is it even optionable or should i just go loldamage and try and nuke the other person down before they can kill me. I was thinking knight for the hunting capabilities (mostly runewarden) but wanted to make sure I had something for pvp that was decent as well

    2) Has Sentinel gotten any good buffs recently. With the removal of axe stun a long time ago I know they got kicked down a couple pegs in terms of dueling/ganking abilities. Are they hard at capturing people and keeping them down until you can get a few good combos off or do people just run when an axe is thrown? With the new pve changes coming I wanted to know if switching to sentinel and working on pvp was worth the change/credits or if im just going further down the latter from changing from monk

    1) How viable are the knight classes holding up in combat these days. Knight combat is still very viable even at top tier combat. When I left Infernal was doing pretty good until some system side fixes nerfed their speed/lock capabilities, is this still true? Yes but with the changes to races it has a few new twists and frenzy fixed their speed problem. I want to be able to lock pretty decently without having to have omgspeed rapiers. Is it even optionable or should i just go loldamage and try and nuke the other person down before they can kill me. Right now, like before, speed is king and without the right set of rapiers your not going to be doing anything amazing. Loldamage #younoob is still viable but really peters out around mid tier. I was thinking knight for the hunting capabilities (mostly runewarden) but wanted to make sure I had something for pvp that was decent as well. Check out sena's thread of math and amazing it lays out each classes standing in the pve pecking order.

    2) Has Sentinel gotten any good buffs recently. meh, they arnt horrible but still have some hole if you know how to prioitize right and are semi tanky. With the removal of axe stun a long time ago I know they got kicked down a couple pegs in terms of dueling/ganking abilities. Are they hard at capturing people and keeping them down until you can get a few good combos off or do people just run when an axe is thrown? Above my paygrade. With the new pve changes coming I wanted to know if switching to sentinel and working on pvp was worth the change/credits or if im just going further down the latter from changing from monk.

  • I remember seeing it somewhere around the forums, probably from Sena. Does anyone have the table of how dex/riding affects your dodge rate and how much damage you take?

Maybe I'm mis remembering but I believe it does nothing to reduce damage just increases your chance to dodge a blow. Other wise serpents would be little tank powerhouses.

  • It was Clementius's post here, and also here, and it's only dodging, not damage reduction. The avoidance skill gives both a dodging bonus and damage reduction, but the two aren't related, the skill just has two different benefits. Acrobatics might give damage resistance as well (I've heard that it does, but never tested it), but dexterity, weaving, riding, speed elixir, and evade block definitely don't reduce damage.
  • Is there a different between a tattoo and a artefact tattoo instead it doesn't come off? I mean like does the boar tattoo increase healing percent from the non artefact?

I have Cerebral Palsy, so it'll take me a bit to learn things so please try to be patient with me.

  • No. Artefact just means it's permanent.

  • Does PvE generate shin? Someone told me it does, but while I am in shin trance, nothing on my prompt changes and when I add the shin token to a custom prompt, it stays at 0, which I would assume meant that I wasn't generating shin.

It does not. Shin is generated only through Striking, which is purely PvP.

  • what will do more damage while hunting? Soulpiecer, or a normal rapier at about 70/80 damage with a level 3 collar but probably 13/12 int? (I forget what Atavian's stats are if con spec.) as a bard. (Basically will amped up Accentato out do a Soulpeircer)
  • edited August 2014

Int doesn't affect accentato damage. I'm actually not sure if I tested it with a collar or not, so I'm not certain, but I don't think it would make a difference either. Accentato is simply 25% of your jab damage as far as I know, so higher rapier damage means higher accentato damage.

Soulpiercers definitely aren't the best rapiers you can get though, so you could still do better with a high-end forged rapier.

  • I'm asking for a friend, they're just curious about the best hunting set up for bard and have credits to burn in that regards. I already told em a high-end rapier is probably better but yeah..also I thought they changed Accentato to reflect your rapier damage for hunting now or did I misread? Either way.

As I said, accentato damage is just your jab damage divided by 4. That means strength increases accentato as well, by increasing jab damage.

  • Also new question since I am not sure.. Acrobatics from Swashbuckling increases dodge rate like Drunkensailor? So they stack together? I honestly don't know, I usually don't stance because I am silly.

They both increase dodging, and I'm pretty sure they stack but not 100% sure.

They do stack, yes. Trans avoidance bard/jester is terror.

  • Thanks! Now just to remind myself to use this against knights/monks then!
