  • Balance is wickedly variable for weaponry, and it is not due to latency. With my really quick rapier, I can jab anywhere between .9 and 1.5 speed, +/- .3 or so for even more variability. I have seen as low as .6 and as high as 1.9. 

    @Sena, if I get a log of me hitting someone a ton, would you want it to play with the numbers for me? I am hopeless with them, but I am pretty sure Tecton said there was not supposed to be variability in it and there is a ton. Maybe if I can get the numbers he will look into it.

  • It could be quite a while (possibly several weeks) before I'll have a chance to really analyse or test anything.

    It's not just weaponry, I've noticed about a .2-.3 second variation in balance/eq times for dragon gut and educe iron as well.

  • Yes, other things are slightly variable too, but their variability is low enough to be explained by latency alone. Weapons have far higher variance for some reason.

    @Nyboe DODGING gives a 15% chance to dodge meteors.

    I'm 99% certain that's the figure, been a while.

    PROJECTILES gives a chance to dodge SHOT arrows or THROWN weapons. I'm fairly certain it is a flat chance (from observing classic 9 Dex Grook vs me Sentinel - tons of dodging), calculated separately from dexterity derived dodge.

    Uncertain that the chance is. Just from offhand observation, 20%+.

    Very old thread in the link, but just curious if there was any other discussion of firewalls beyond this, or if there is anything in the works for them, or if it was simply forgotten, or if it's been fully reviewed at some point and ultimately deemed "fair and balanced" for the time being.

    I would presume that ordering the soulmaster to do something and ordering an entity to do something can both be done at the same time.

  • Sewer grates provide a quick escape area for you to step in to evade area/LOS attacks. They are also less guarded and provide an easier way to move around the city if you know the general sewer layout.

  • No. Generally with Wind, Aiming and Snipe you'll never (or at the least very rarely) miss, barring things like icewalls that reduce bow accuracy. With Marksman, you don't need any of those, but you can use them when shooting past icewalls to drastically increase your chance to hit.
  • Even with Wind, Aiming, Snipe, Marksman, and a level 1 bow, I still miss over walls, and it makes me want to punch babies.

    For some reason my venoms won't rebound on @Guhem's aura but they rebound on everyone else I've tested on (Kaie, Yae, etc.)... Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

    On Kaie:

    Lightning-quick, you jab Kaie with an ornate steel rapier.
    The attack rebounds back onto you!
    A prickly stinging overcomes your body, fading away into numbness.
    Your state of paralysis prevents you from doing that.

    On Guhem:

    Lightning-quick, you jab Guhem with an ornate steel rapier.
    The attack rebounds back onto you!
    Lightning-quick, you jab Guhem with an ornate steel rapier.
    The attack rebounds back onto you!

    ** Both DSLs were evenomed with curare/kalmia

  • I think some people are bugged where the venoms will rebound, and others the opposite. It's been like that for awhile, iirc. It may not be a problem with each person, but perhaps an interaction of certain people - I have no idea! I just know something like that has been there for a long time.

    It's not a bug. Rebounding has a chance to inflict the venom, it's not absolute.

    I've actually DSLed Guhem a lot of times, not once did the venoms rebound whereas Kaie/Yae/Aktillum all rebounded on the first try.

  • Are you complaining that you're not getting hit with your own venoms when you strike into rebounding? I'm not really sure...

  • Not really. I'm just trying to figure out why or if I did something that made it that way.

    So I can do it again and never get my venoms rebounded back >:)

  • I have noticed this as well but only in the arena. Just delete rebounding.
