I usually don't use shrugging against serpents, and against knights I will not use it too if they ask for it, unless they're crazily artied or it's a fight that matters. Won't not use it against bards of course, because - bards.
I use illusions, but they don't work, so that's fine.
Hi guys, just wondering... can you throw an orb at Golgotha? (If so what noun do I throw it at?) Or any other way to get rid of him so orbs can be thrown at ents?
The whole point of Golgotha is that you can't use orb sigils to essentially totally neuter Occultist; they're still useful for dopplegangers (and other entities if they're not in room with the Occultist, I think), that's it. If you want to get rid of them then I guess bashing attacks probably still work. At some point you're going to have to learn to deal with the entities, though.
Occultist is really rough to begin with, and there's one specific method of curing that people might not be used to using that often that you need to incorporate (hint: it's a tattoo that you use five green inks for), but they're reasonably manageable afterwards. You still have to be a bit careful, and some offensive hindering or strategic leaving the room helps to stop them getting too many afflictions on you.

Prepare for some Gandalf-firework level illusions.
@Seftin When I was bashing UW to Dragon you jumped me three times, each a couple days apart. Each time you were a different class. It was like I was playing a single-player RPG where the boss shows up in a different form as you progress through the storyline.
I wouldn't mind half as much if dstab was just dependent on dirk speed instead of artie levels. Could just whore forgers out until you get an equivalent one then.
What makes you think that this would be a cheap alternative to artefact dirks?
From what I understand, deathmask solely affects deathsight. You will still see the message "You have been slain by X," regardless of how you are killed.
And you won't understand the cause of your grief...
