Didn't confusion's effect on equilibrium-recovery get drastically reduced in the last round of classleads? I don't know if it's still sufficient to completely shut down Occultist now.
It was reduced from 2x multiplier to 1.5x. 1.5 is still pretty huge.

All you really need against Occultist is haiku though. Poor Seragorn.
Yeah :D Made that imp -> confusion stackerino yesterday after that truename chain.
I have imp -> haiku for EQ classes, imp -> passion for other classes. Rocks.

So Mizik was able to dragoncurse me (affliction and delay specified) in about 2 seconds intervals. AB DRAGONCURSE says cooldown 4.00 seconds of equilibrium. Even with diadem, I don't see how that is possible. Latency? What am I missing?

Oh! I mis-remembered the AB details, and read them wrong just now. That clarifies it, thanks. Gonna be fun to test it more now that I understand it properly :)

  • "Targeted" isn't really the right word, since the old multiple affliction style of Dragoncurse was also targetted (i.e. you specified a target that it affected, it wasn't a room attack).

Dragoncurse has two flavours. The old one has the 4.00 second (base) equilibrium time, and just deals random afflictions to the target. The new one allows you to both specify an affliction and a delay at which it afflicts - minimum delay is 1, I believe there's a maximum but I can't recall what it is (5? 10?). It also has its own balance, but that balance is, as far as I recall, dependent on the delay specified, so you can't have more than one delayed affliction at any given moment.

Sun stays in room. Lasts about a minute or two. Fires off every 8-10 or so seconds I noticed.

Two mostly. Saw it do three on the rare occasion.

No.  It's like blackwind. Huge drain to WP.

    Yes.

Guaranteed in consecutive uses. First works, second doesn't, third does, etc.  If you use it right after the first not going to work but if you space it out you can get lucky.
  • How much dex does a serpent need to max out dstab speed with a lvl 3 dirk?  Same question for lvl 2?

    15 with lvl 3, else 16 iirc

Actually I think there is a .1s cap difference between level 3 and not. So 16/2 is still .1 behind the cap of 15/3.

@Kiet wasn't that what we found?

  • That's correct, L3 has a 0.1s faster cap.
  • so been looking for more offense strategies for my serpent. i havent mastered the art of locking but i understand it and can lock. though still need a lot of work. scytherus for damage out or relapsing is a dead skill IMO i use it to basicly punish people and swap back to locking afflictions. since a lot of people focus on curing relapsing. does anyone have any suggestions for what else i can start learning for my serpent. someone mentioned  a way to push people off eq for a behead but no one so far knows how to do it. I was told that you need illusions to do it so its not doable anymore. But yeah anything anyone wants to mention.

You have 3 very strong kill paths, before you get fancy into behead of off-eq: darkshade, lock, scytherus.

Serpent doesn't progress the paths single mindedly. You combine all of them into one offense and punish them with another path.

Darkshade forces a ginseng eat within 12s. That's one herb balance down. Kelp stack works into a lock and hypochondria. Hypochondria works with ginseng dstab into relapse. The trick is to force choices within 2-3 dstabsb (best time is when it's time to cure darkshade) and punish their choices. Serpents are OP.

I have killed people with relapsing, tricking them to think it's a lock. Still snapped imp and but didn't hit with slike gecko, they do their lock curing ie shield, goldenseal, kelp, hypo, stay paralysed not running and find out ginseng is deep and die to relapse. Many times darkshade kills before a lock too. Fang serpent is just OP, you dstab at close to herb balance. The moment they have a breather is when you give affs that's not cured by herbs, like ano gecko. Other than that, it just stacks madly. Think about it, use ano gecko only when you know it is end game time.
  • Is strength any good for dual wield blunt or for other knight specs other than for disembowel damage?
  • Strength increases the damage of the majority of Weaponmastery abilities, including your primary attack for every specialisation (doublewhirl for dual wield blunt), so still worthwhile even if you're not using disembowel. You could probably live with sacrificing strength in favour of constitution as a dual wield blunt, if you were primarily killing with Pulp, but the reduced damage is going to give people more freedom to cure in a way that makes Pulp difficult to achieve.
  • AerekAerek East Tennessee, USA
Just agreeing with Tony. Strength is less necessary for DWB than for other knights, but you still want it for Assault damage and regular DWL damage. There are some classes/opponents that are difficult to Pulp, so you want to have your raw damage option against those people.
-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.

Sun stays in room. Lasts about a minute or two. Fires off every 8-10 or so seconds I noticed.  Lasts 12 ticks, 20sec from each other for a total of 4min (much less than similar stuff like dagaz at 15min 15s ticks)

Two mostly. Saw it do three on the rare occasion. Up to three. 35sec cooldown. Stopped by hinder.

No.  It's like blackwind. Huge drain to WP.

    Yes.

Guaranteed in consecutive uses. First works, second doesn't, third does, etc.  If you use it right after the first not going to work but if you space it out you can get lucky.  Failed/succeeded hangedman atm counts as hangedman used increasing the % of failure. After 4 continuous uses the failure percent is ~100% meaning at worst you can be hit with 3(-4) hangedmans back to back, then any queued one will certainly fail. At best 1 will hit you. No pattern 1st works, 2nd fails, etc, just increased % of failure, thus requiring to space them out with other attacks in between at which point you aint really hindering.

  • In my experience, a high strength score for DWB makes you pretty unstoppable, especially if you're able to pick up decent morningstars. That crap really, really hurts, even with fullplate (I have no idea how lesser-armoured people keep up with that kind of ouch).
