finally pull off the wedding and move to Mhaldor, which had even more drastic consequences than the excommunications. That was in 665.
It is now 688, about 23 years after I've joined Mhaldor, so two thirds of a real year.
For those of us without IC reason to know or care, can you fill us in on exactly what happened? So much hubbub surrounding it when it went down, on a level deserving of its own Events post, but of course there was none.
From a guest's perspective, you were asked to not bring weapons, and the Mhaldorian attendees were overly welcoming and happy to provide you with drinks and food. This wasn't even Mhaldorian flavoured mhun steaks or anything. Such hospitality!
Then once the wedding started, people started jerking around and like twitching, iirc, including Eph, but then I may have played around a bit more. Then guests started quoting the Truths, like we were
Then pretty much everyone died, and it was seriously the best Achaean wedding I've been to in ten real life years, seeing as how most are sweet and nice and everything, but unless it your wedding you're just there cause you REALLY like the people getting married or you don't wanna be that person who skips the wedding and hopefully there's free drinks at the end. (Eph had one marriage ceremony, and I don't fault anyone who felt that way, despite the fact that it was one of the most important things to him.)
The Red Fog wedding was brilliant. As a player you knew what was coming pretty quickly, but it was one of the best deaths I've endured. 10/10 would attend again.
Edited to add: Would attend again, and that's about the only way to get me to play again.
Props to the volunteer that ran tonight's Oceanic deluge-the-event-npcs-with-repetitive-questions event. It was cool, the flavor is cool, the event looks to be interesting, and I get the feeling you did most of the actual interaction alone or with very little assistance.
Really, really nice to see more stuff happening off the usual timezones for it. Mad props.
What happened? If I missed an Oceanic event I am not raving, but good for you!
Been killed a lot in the last couple of days. I'm strung out, tired and frustrated...my daughter will hopefully be coming home from the hospital finally after over 2 months from when she was born, my work is down 8 people and the load is just increasing from here until the end of the year and I'm getting my ass kicked in Achaea
When I died today to @Ethoas I about flipped my desk over, but without me even saying anything he stopped and talked to me about my death, not to give up and to Change...rave for something that spoke to an isolated event, helping me look at everything differently. You helped more than you know.

Oceanic time zone, not Ocean-related! Just to clarify.

So it wasn't entirely player-run, and had some admins in on it behind the scenes?
Just to rave all my fights lately and going bard, all the people who fight me so that I can practice and put up with my frustration when I try to figure out how to lock them when they prioritize something other that paralysis. As I class changed to Bard I made sure I cleared my slain counter. This is how far I've gotten so far with bard! Lots more deaths and even more kills than Jester and Runewarden so far! Spars, duels, hunting combined!

Sry if I've stuffed this up already but im on my phone in bed and should be doing better things with my time so sry if this reply has multiplied.
I just wanted to send my best to you and your daughter. I hope she's ok now? I may have been one of those people that gave you a shitty day that day. If i did im sorry. What happens in achaea is not really me. All the best mate

I've been having so much damn fun in this game and it is thanks to the wonderful player base and those who Kit works with. So thank you to everyone Kit comes into contact with to make my gameplay exciting and fun! In no order, but special thanks to the fun rp provided by the following:
If I forgot anyone it was unintentional, but I love the interaction and the gameplay and I'm glad to be part of an active community such as this. So thank you!
"Kit always gets blood everywhere." Medi says, "If kit says to show up somewhere, bring an apron." Medi says, "Rule of thumb."
After having spent a little over a week in the hospital, I have had a lot of time to think. I've struggled with low self-esteem and depression in the past, which has led to failing exams and escaping into games.
But since I made Alrena, over two years ago, I have been encouraged, entrusted with tasks and found I could handle them, then entrusted with more tasks and positions. I've received a tremendous amount of support, first from the Sylvanic Fellowship in the forms of @Lucine@Ripley and others, then Eleusis when I dipped my toe into the world of pvp for the first time in Achaea, and found I liked it. Every step of the way, I have had people supporting me, encouraging me and just being there for me when I was down.
Two years later, and I'm the Speaker of Eleusis, which I'd never have believed would ever happen. In real life, I passed all my exams this June, which is a near miracle compared to before. I'm happier, more confident in myself and it's all thanks to Achaea and the generally very openminded, accepting and friendly people here. I wouldn't be where I am, IC and OOC, without you guys.
@Sarapis for making this game in the first place! @Eleusis for being generally awesome and willing to give things a go! @Gaia for being tremendously supporting and awesome. Thanks so much for poking me to join the order! @Exelethril for being an incredibly supportive text-partner. There's not enough words for how much I appreciate everything you do! Textkids @Kopeshku@Demetri@Vyn@Etoile@Aquil And way too many others, friends and fun enemies alike, for the interactions, the fights and just making things interesting!
tl;dr Rave for everything that happened to me in Achaea!
@Gaia : I while back I asked Gaia if instead of giving blessing and favours to me if she would imbue them to my grove instead as it needed it more than I do. I logged in this morning to fins that this-
Only the husks of blackened, burnt trees and the strong smell of sulphur remains here, in the wake of a past fire. Soot-covered stones lie scattered about the ground, and the burnt bones of a fairly large creature poke through a mound of ash. A variety of animal tracks are embedded in the fine powder lining the ground, most of them heading west toward the Pachacacha River.
has turned into this-
Nature prevails, the ashen earth bestrewn with fresh growth. Lush grass clusters around cold stone as but two elements of the macrocosm unite, the woodland scattered with alabaster pebbles that gleam with flecks of silver. Newborn saplings encircle the clearing with spritely resilience, toughened by their specimen: coniferous and hardy, the young pines grow as meagre examples of their ancestors in the surrounding vale. Faint animal tracks patter westward, toward the fast-flowing waters of the Pachacacha river.
