I'm in a totally different country from my home and I went out of my way to make sure that I had the time to both practice and perform the duel. It was a ton of fun, both in the preperation and the Gala itself. Thanks to @Jurixe for getting it going, @Katzchen for getting me involved and everyone else for pulling it off.
Yeah I know I said single post before but I lied. I'm a Naga, deal with it! In no particular order:
@Thiev and @Bonko: You guys are the most amazing security people ever, I really could not have asked for a better team. Thank you for all the encouragement and support when I was going out of my mind stressing over security for the Gala - including the fifty kills each and all guards dead reassurance, haha - and thank you so much for taking that worry off my mind so I didn't have to stress about it.
@Sabiru: I'm sad you couldn't make it but thank you, as ever and always, for listening to me ramble on about various aspects of the Gala, for all your support, and for the pre-Gala rehearsal. I had fun!
@Tagg: I know you must be sick of me going on about food, decor, posters, attendance, security etc, haha. Thank you for always cheering me up/distracting me, and being super supportive in your own way. You really continue to be a rock that I can flop on.
@Kyrra: Thank you so much for your help with the food and jewellery, and being a positive, encouraging, enthusiastic force - as well as being very flattering about my work, haha. I owe you one.
@Kaevan: Hands down best emcee, could not have done it without you. Thank you for handling the Haruspex, for having a great sense of drama, timing, and event control, for turning the last-minute performance into something unique and fun even though you had no script, and your brand of humour that always lights up an event.
@Nakari: You probably don't know it but just having you handle the invitations and the registration on the day itself took such a load off me, it's really appreciated. Sorry if I might've been a bit nitpicky and inconsistent about what I wanted to do, but you just went with it and did an excellent job.
@Niro: I hadn't even seen you until like that one time before the Gala, but you showed up, went 'where can I be useful?' and ended up probably being one of the best things about the Gala. You didn't even need to be told what to do, but did exactly as I'd envisioned the servers doing and you were fantastic. Please log in more.
@Tirac: I could not have asked for a better last-minute partner, and you made the Gala an even more fun event than it would otherwise have been for me. You know exactly why this rave is for you.
@All the performers: Even though I'd asked for the complete drafts of the performances beforehand, I didn't get all of them (and there were a lot of last-minute changes) so a lot of the performances that day was first-time viewing for me. I have to say that I was blown away - the BC illusion performance especially. You guys surpassed all possible expectations and each one would have been an incredible performance on its own. I cannot say how impressed I was with the quality of work - major kudos to all, you really made the event.
@Ruth, @Sherazad, @Xer, @Ilys, @Hayte, @everyone who's ever had to listen to me ramble at some point about the gala: Weeks and weeks of me pretty much being unable to hold a conversation without some aspect of the gala slipping into it and then going on for hours about it, but all of you guys were incredibly supportive, patient, and very encouraging. Rambling on about stuff helps me keep my sanity because there were days when there was just so much to do I was going out of my mind, haha, so thank you for what sanity still remains.
@Katzchen and @Soven: Thank you for the work you did with the posters, you two did the two hardest wings of the museum and left the middle (arguably easiest) wing for me to finish, which is good. I don't actually know how many people took the time to read it, but I felt that they were really important and added a lot to actually understanding the significance of the artefacts.
@Amunet, @Sohl, and @Lianca: Thank you for coming to the Gala, and providing a fun bit of banter for the Mhaldorians there and an opportunity to interact with outsiders in a setting beyond combat. I'm sorry I didn't really respond as much as I would have liked, but there was so much going on behind the scenes and I can only split my brain so many ways. I hope you still enjoyed yourself. I still hate you for the pit, @Sohl, but mostly because I totally knew it was coming and didn't move because I was curious. >( rawr!
And finally, the best for last:
@Members of the Garden who helped, you all know who you are: Thank you. I could say it a billion times, but thank you. Each and every single one of the exhibits that was installed is a work of art beyond anything I could have come up with, and we even got a bonus one, haha :P The fountain, as well, modelled after a certain someone was hilarious, though I don't know how many people know about it since I didn't get to tell everyone. So many of the ideas that I'd honestly just thrown out in my email to events just for fun were actually made reality, and I cannot express, for a city who doesn't get much regular interaction with admin, just how much that meant. The invitation, the pin, the drinks (raspberry kawhe? I haven't even tried the others yet), installing doors, making it possible at all for the Naga to do our performance, and above all, the amazing quartet - I literally went 'eeeeeeeeeeeeeee' when I tested it for the first time. Norbert and Venasia being there was a really nice touch, though I wish I could have talked to them more. The rush jobs that I know had to be done for the food and many of the Mhaldorian clothes, the boutonnieres and corsages that I hadn't even asked for but were made anyway - thank you. You know precisely who you are and I have to say that, quite plainly, it would have been half the event it was without your help. (Also please let me keep the fountain/quartet.)
I'm almost sure I've forgotten people, so here's a generic huge thank you to everyone who woke up early, stayed up late, shifted plans and made other arrangements just so they could attend. Thank you to the phenomenal level of support I have had from all levels, Mhaldorian, non-Mhaldorian, mortals and Divine alike. Your messages of encouragement have all done more than you know in helping me find the motivation to go on, even on days where I've done nothing but trying to research and design recipes for eight hours straight, because I wanted it to be worth it for Mhaldorians. An event like this has never, ever been hosted before that I can ever remember in Mhaldor, and I really wanted to make it something worthwhile remembering.
When I took the post of MoCA more than thirty IC years ago, I thought it would be good if I could manage to run three unique events. I honestly never, in my wildest dreams, thought it would be possible to successfully pull off an event of this scale, complexity, and really in general just this type - Mhaldorians aren't actually known for balls and fancy parties but I wanted to show that hey, we know how to throw a party too when we want to. I am not a stranger to hosting galas but I've never done one of this magnitude before and I was so worried about so many things, but somehow, together, everyone pulled it off. Thank you all for making it possible. It has been the most exhausting time of my life but as long as everyone enjoyed it, it has been completely worth it.
tl;dr: gala was fun, thanks everyone, now I'm going to go and collapse for a few hours.

@Jurixe: Thank you for allowing me to help out in the Gala preparations and letting me cater for the event. There were some entirely too late nights during the week where I just knew I was waiting for a last minute sketch submissions, and I think it was just as important to me, as it was to you, to make sure that the food was absolutely perfect. I started stressing when a few of the recipes were returned because we were running out of time. The few hours for hunting down vegetables (seriously, these need to grow faster and in higher quantity) and doing all the cooking the night before was absolutely crazy, and yes, I would have waited up all night to hand you over the food if I had to!
@Phaestus: A big thank you from me for the speed in which the recipes and designs were approved for the Gala. In general, working with the UUC has become a real pleasure since You took over, and the reduced waiting times on rejections and approvals has made a lot of people really happy. Thank You for donating the time to do it.
(D.M.A.): Cooper says, "Kyrra is either the most innocent person in the world, or the girl who uses the most innuendo seemingly unintentionally but really on purpose."
@Yiwen I ignored you because I did not want to deal with the OOC chest-pounding and taunting you are so fond of. I thought that was pretty obvious, since I specifically asked you to stop. If you feel the need to continue it on the forums by tagging me with the same sarcastic tone, that is probably a sign you need to step back.

@Shirszae for her article in the Haruspex, being one of the very few to submit something for it. And it was a good read!
Also, he will never read this but my brother, who's training to be a chef, was actually an invaluable help in helping me plan the menu because I had no idea what to serve. I asked him 'so, what can I serve for a high society function with these ingredients?' and first thing he asked was 'is this for Achaea...?' :-X But I talk to him about Achaea all the time and he talks to me about his Minecraft RP server, so we're good.
The oysters, deep fried wasps with honey mustard, caribou rolls were all his idea, and without his help I probably would never have had the motivation to make any sort of progress on the menu. So this is a tribute to him!

Thanks to @Jurixe and the rest of Mhaldor for throwing an excellent gala last night. You have no idea how nice it was for @Lianca and I to attend a well-planned, well-catered event that we ourselves didn't slave over for real-life weeks. Once classes let out for the summer, I will have to find some way to reciprocate.
Oh, and before I forget, an extra rave for @Niro. Walking all the way to Ashtan to ply me with the refreshments I'd ordered before Sohl pitted our hosts? That's some dedication to one's role as the waitstaff.
My avatar is an image created by this very talented gentleman, of whose work I am extremely jealous. It was not originally a picture of Amunet, but it certainly looks a great deal like how I envision her!
Was going rave for Layna too but she's doing the whole "Why can't you be psychic" aggressively at me. I only have the power to cross roads, I can't use that to search peoples feelings.

@Thiev and @Earionduil and @Bonko can have raves too for picking up the griefing. One day I will be able to grief again, but until that day I am going to become world champion at "You have to burn the rope."

Rave for @Sybilla for a great conversation earlier where I got to play with illusions, and for being cool in general. Also one for @Alissan for just being consistently so much fun.

And @Verily for being @Verily, @Lacertix for always cheering me up IC and OOC. @Iakara for being entertaining and unique. @Mannimar for your time. @Bambi for making my dream come true... @Haldon for always taking some time out of your schedule to rp with me, @Jairo for being an ugly beautiful sweetheart, and um... @Caoimhaen for being adorkable... >.> all the Keepers for being awesome, especially @Shirszae, and YAY @Harmonia for being back!
@Ourania for being so approachable, and eloquent, and a Boss.
I know I'm forgetting shit, but yay @Hashan for giving me lots of stuff to RP and lots of reasons to want to kill everyone but not be able to.

I thought that's what raves were for??
Also, if you were to go through these Raves...I'd bet that 15% involve @Kyrra in one form or fashion.
@Yiwen
I could not be arsed to shop a hat on there, but enjoy a monocle. I'm going to bed.
