The sweltering heat of the forge spills out across the land as the rumbling voice of Phaestus booms, "I want you to know, the Garden reaction to that one is: What?" The voice of Melantha, Goddess of the Seasons, echoes amid the rustle of leaves, "That's the censored version."
Curious how the mysterious illness ties in with it all and if it has some kind of significance, and how they're going to resolve that. Oh so many questions. When will it conclude? I hope before Christmas.
Well, I admit the clues make it really hard to piece together, and quite possibly impossible. We've tried to accomplish a ton with this event, and perhaps explaining that has fallen by the wayside a bit...
The Xoran disease is a result of the fallout from the uprising that happened when the Xoran rebelled against the Ormyrr, who did not appreciate this.
The Xoran rebelled after Twilight ("the dusk god" if you recall) made a deal with the Dala'myrr and Ormyrr, promising them a piece of the Sceptre (they had one already, from Elara), in return for a crapload of bodies (ie the Xoran) to power Death's Heart. The Ormyrr turned them over to Twilight, who killed almost all of them. (The few survivors were were the first Xorani on Sapience.) The Dala'myrr didn't get anything, which is...perhaps...why Twilight hasn't shown his face - he knows they will be gunning specifically for him. --------------- Well no real reason for Him to show His face, everyone else is busy killing each other, why stop them from doing that?
Can we at least get an 8-12 hour advance warning if things are gonna happen? For me they happen in the middle of the night at around 0100-0400 and it's rather annoyingfrustrating not being able to be here because you can't stay awake 24/7 <.< I've been up every night till like 0200 - 0400 since Shallam sank and one of the denizens I've been looking for in that week just decided to show up the night I wasn't able to be here because I had to sleep
And on the twenty-first day of the promotional event, the Gods of Olde had returned, and Achaea was mighty;
Tecton rested His head upon His Pillow of Ultra-Softness, replete in the knowledge that many globe sacrifice made for a merry Logosmas for all.
"Let the mortals enjoy My gift, for it will bring much mirth and joy while Shallamii propels itself to unimagined supremacy and opulence."
--- You shake your small Can of Bal'met, eliciting a soft 'mooing' sound from inside. A small cloud of red powder puffs from the tiny holes at the lid of the container.

I can't recall where, but He said there will be 3 days notice for the super-spectacular finale.
I like my steak like I like my Magic cards: mythic rare.

Yeah, but some of us need more 'directional input' than that, heh
edit: unless the next part is the 'epic final part' I suppose
Tired of waiting. No house, no novices to teach, people quitting all around. It's hard to stay excited waiting for something to happen. I hope losing everything our characters have revolved around is worth this freaking wait.
Phaestus, the Smith says, "I think My raid backfired. Now I'm the one getting raided."

I've noticed that people have more or less suspended other things they have going on because of the OOC knowledge that this event will take place and we will have three days' notice, which irks me. Why can't you go on with your lives and try to rebuild and persevere through Bal'met?

As ever, the responsible use of OOC knowledge to make IC decisions is not only okay but required for a good RP environment.
That said, I don't consider "Gods are dying and cities are being levelled, so let's not make any serious plans for the future" to be particularly OOC.

In defence of those people, they've just spent the past few years watching a war between the Bal'met faction and the Garden produce an increasingly cataclysmic series of clashes. All the major actors are still at large, Sycaernaewhatever has just been purified and is visibly raring for a fight, the moon is the colour of blood, the chariot of the sun is empty in the sky, there's a constant supernatural storm roiling overhead, ormyrr are marching all around, and there's no reason to assume that Bal'met has gotten bored of eating gods. It's not OOC to assume more clashes are coming, as well as probably some sort of final battle that will be decisive one way or another. Generally you wait for the bombs to stop falling before you start thinking of rebuilding and going on with your life.
Edit: Sylvance sneaks in ahead of me by being concise!
Achaea will get pulled in by the gravitational pull of a star, settle into orbit and science will take over. Gods and magic vanish in a puff of logic, and everyone will get one life. Except us shrubs who will reseed and live forever

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important
