I've always been jealous of the myriad of ways that Mhaldor gets to execute people. During my brief citizenship there, the highlight of every day was seeing who would get executed, and how.
EDIT: Staying on-topic, I'm sad that I missed the bulk of the attack on Ashtan. Damn classes.
My avatar is an image created by this very talented gentleman, of whose work I am extremely jealous. It was not originally a picture of Amunet, but it certainly looks a great deal like how I envision her!
@ previous page's comments about 'why not wait 10m to purify the dragon'
It's obvious the Divine were worried Ashtan's armada of dragons would successfully bash it, should it land anywhere in the city. Especially since he rushed with his 3 bros and they got pit, so it would have left him alone to deal with God-tentacles and God-meteor/warp. Good luck.
Cascades of quicksilver light streak across the firmament as the celestial voice of Ourania intones, "Oh Jarrod..."
There's plenty who come and sit around in the city, buy supplies, etc. I don't think it's the "main" hangout, though.

To be honest, the best thing that could happen to Shallam is that the admins don't listen to the vast majority of people's opinions on what Shallam should be. The admins have heard our complaints, and I trust them to make a new city based around the recurring themes from people who've played Shallamese characters. The absolute last thing I'd want is for them to make a new city based on what the forums want to see.
I agree with Silas, the Admin should not listen at all to what the player base is asking for, instead they should actually take what the players are asking for on the forums and just do the complete opposite. Why should the players have any say in what their experience should be like while playing?
I have no say in the makeup of Ashtan, and I expect that you should have no say in the makeup of my city. Since we're all able to play alts, though, I'd much rather nobody had any real input at all, and that the admins just did it all with the knowledge of what did and didn't work in old Shallam.
You're assuming that only former citizens of Shallam have good ideas of what did/didn't work in old Shallam and that only former citizens of Shallam have good ideas on how to improve it, and your assumption is wrong.
my one complaint, and it is a very minor complaint, was that he came back immediately after the destruction of the city. I think it would have been neat to have to really wonder exactly how abandoned one has been, as it would have really forced the actual feel of being a refugee. That feeling got a little less extreme when he returned right after the city was destroyed.
I'm way too happy for the event to really care, though
@Nakari: technically, you're still refugees for as long as you don't have a city. And if you read the latest Events post, Deucy said the gulf was "too wide for a mortal to breach, but it was not too wide for an immortal".
So there you go. He was just in time, if you think about it. Probably just got out of bed wearing his tunic, which actually kinda makes him late.
