I like how Babel was all 'I-it's not like I wanted you to have this s-sword, Pentharian-oniichan! Phaestus only made me do so. B-but it's not like I'm doing this because we're brothers or anything. I-iiiiidiot!' and Shallam was like 'WE ARE KEEPING IT.'
This event has its ups and downs. I don't like a lot of it but it is a change of pace to have actually SOMETHING happen in Achaea for once after I started playing in '05. I have to admit. I'm stuck to the event and this thread like glue. I'm eager and nervous to see how an event that started four RL years ago or so is finally happening. Keep up the good work. I may be a Mithraea fangirl, but Pentharian really did give me some smiles and laughs in this event so thanks!
Indrani would be alive if she just stabbed Pandemonium in the throat instead of doing the cliche villain extremely-slow-waving-around-of-the-weapon-in-front-of-the-defenseless-hero.
I was typing precisely this in all caps to my correspondents, you don't even know.
'OMG WHY DOESN'T SHE JUST -STAB- HIM ALREADY SHE'S GOING TO DIE FOR SURE'
*Pandemonium breaks hand, takes dagger, lops off Indrani's head*
'SADFASJDFK YOU SEE?!?!?! YOU SEE!!!!!!'(I sorry Indranians)
For those of you who think she's exaggerating, an excerpt from GoogleTalk:
Joshua: The skies flash as Artemis and Vastar
release a volley of lightning bolts toward Their enemies. Indrani steps
before Her allies, turning each bolt away with swift strokes of Her
blades.
A cacophony of howls and shrieks rends the air, and
what few clouds remain above the Pillars of Heaven disperse as a swarm of
daemons answers the call of Sartan, the Malevolent.
Descending upon the Garden of the Gods, the daemons surge
forward, and six fearsome Dreadlords alight from their backs. Following
closely behind are a dozen Dala'myrr, slithering sinuously through the
firmament to circle above Bal'met.
Karin: yessssssssssss
Joshua: Pressing forward with the Sabre of Dawn held
aloft, Mithraea cuts down a swathe of daemons, leaving a carpet of crimson
flesh in Her wake.
Whirling Her sickle about, Melantha sends a blast of
verdant energy to sear the carapace of a Dala'myrr, sending it crashing to
the ground.
Karin: eat Mithraea!
eat it
and
Across the battlefields and plains of Achaea, the voice of Aegis, God of
War resounds like thunder, "Pentharian! Behind You!"
In a blur of motion, Bal'met suddenly appears behind
Pentharian, driving His arm through the Lord of Valour's armour as though it
were soft wax.
Karin: die
DIE
Joshua: Howling in pain, Pentharian releases His
grip upon the Sword of Dunamis, but Bal'met quickly grasps the hilt,
withdrawing it through Pentharian's back in a savage motion that shatters the
God's breastplate.
Karin: DIE
DIE
Joshua: A final coruscation of light across the heavens
heralds the passing of Pentharian, Lord of Valour from this world.
And as far as ways to lose years of work and devotion to an order, this is far from the worst. At least it's in the interest of improving the game and IC, you have lots of company in your misery.
Pssh. Dunamis gave that sword to us fair and square. Babel just re-gifted it cause it was subpar. SUBPAR.
Give us our sword back plz? It was all we had to remember Marvi by.
It probably wasn't all that fair that Dunamis used the Marvinogian as a scabbard for his sword for all that time, but you have the ruins of Eris pyrimiad to remember Marvi by.
@Pentharian with his dying breath sacrificed @Tarahin exchange to save this sword, and we will forever look upon this sword and remember @Pentharian as a God of infinite wisdom and judgement.

Pretty epic event, most exciting stuff in a few rl years. Sucks for loss of people's Gods but most were inactive (isn't that why we were all complaining?). Bravo!
I feel much better having read this thread, that it was Antidas that ruined my attempts to listen in on Sarapis' uplifting comments to Shallam, and not my own fault.
Massive ego remains solidly intact.
Cascades of quicksilver light streak across the firmament as the celestial voice of Ourania intones, "Oh Jarrod..."
The function of the Logos is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program. After which you will be required to select from the Garden 23 gods -- 16 female, 7 male -- to rebuild Achaea. Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash killing everyone connected to the Garden, which coupled with the extermination of Achaea will ultimately result in the extinction of the entire human race.
I like my steak like I like my Magic cards: mythic rare.

Hmm. The other day I saw someone get slain by the same crimson-skinned daemon - twice.
Perhaps this all explains how Sarapis can wear trousers whilst appearing completely naked. There are no trousers.
Culottes?
"Faded away like the stars in the morning, Losing their light in the glorious sun, Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling, Only remembered for what we have done."
I get the feeling that where this is going for Shallam is unification of the Good ideology under a single God, maybe Lorielan, but more likely a blast from the past - Aurora? Dunamis/Deucalion?
From an outsider's perspective this is a good thing - the Te'Serra often presented a confusing and divided face for Good.
That said, I feel for the players who have put time and effort into building Orders and advancing their rank in them, and hope they'll be justly rewarded once everything has shaken out.
From a Nature perspective, killing off Melantha was a big shock and I didn't see it coming. After Gaia and Demeter, Nature goddess seems to be a dangerous profession. Once again it's left an ideological hole in the Nature faction and a lot of players in mourning - but I'm prepared to see how it works out in the end.
I swear to god if that door opening bastard Pericles becomes our new god I will hurt you. >:-|
On the other hand, all hail Lord Silas!
Pericles, the God of Doors
Order members will have the ability to open any door, locked or not. They can also open metaphorical doors, like 'doors to discovery', and manipulate abstract door-related concepts. Finding the 'keys to your heart' is not an impossible task for followers of Pericles and his army of door-opening orphans.
The cacophony of doors opening and shutting in rapid succession fills the air as Pericles shouts, "Hail Shallam, Jewel of the East!"

Sword was stolen from Shallam, and reasonably recently too...
