to be fair, those of you who were at Fish Street knew I did try to get it...except that when I threw my eye, the sword was no longer there. Dunno if someone picked it up, or if Sarapis just saw what I was doing and prevented me from doing it. But while I didn't actually look in the room after confirming the sword was there while phased, TAKE SWORD just told me there was nothing there by that name. I did get out alive, but figured it was in someone's inventory and therefore impossible to steal
This event has been amazing. Even watching as the Iron Realms app kept freezing my phone today was brilliant.
But I really didn't expect it to hit me so hard when Melantha died. Or rather, once I got home from work and could log in properly. A+ to the game for creating such an immersive environment, and even more love to Melantha for giving Ephram purpose within the realms, so that he was completely affected upon her death. Though one of the saddest aspects by far in my years playing, it was also a great indication of how much this game and the players, including the Divine, have come to mean to me.
I felt like a BBC news anchor with on-the-ground war correspondents because I just absolutely refused to miss it, work or not. You don't even know, I had three chat windows open on my screen all scrolling with text from the event and I didn't care if my boss saw it, damnit, I was going to watch this event live even if I couldn't actually be there for it!
(okay, fine, I minimised them when I thought they were walking by BUT STILL)
I have to say that 'amazing' probably doesn't even begin to cover it. Honestly really surprised that both Pentharian AND Mithraea died, I fully expected Pentharian to be the last god standing for Shallam. The way he went was...ow, too. Respect for that god character, so badass.
Sycaerunax...wow. I don't have words. Completely, totally, blew me away, did not see that coming at all. I honestly thought that he was going to pull another Ashaxei (RIP) and save the gods again or something, but then turns out he was on the other side this time and I was just like.... :O
When Aeon appeared I was terrified that, like Rean said, he was going to turn over his hourglass and reset the entire thing and bring all the gods back to life or something. Thank goodness he didn't or I would have flipped a table, and considering my table is attached to my cubicle that would've been something.
There's so much more to say about this event that the people I talk to regularly are probably getting sick of me speculating and exclaiming over anything now, but that's just how incredibly gripping the entire event has been so far. I am slightly nervous that after such a tremendous buildup and progression that the ending is going to fall short (because how much higher can you go after this?) but the storywriters are doing an amazing job so far, so I will trust you!
To all the players formerly in the orders of slain gods, I feel for you, genuinely. There's not really that much that can be said at this point, except that have faith and hang on, the event isn't over yet, and I'm sure the admin would have taken this into account when they were creating such a world-changing event.
If all else fails, your god/goddess went down fighting, in some capacity or another, and I think that itself is worth being proud of.

Indrani would be alive if she just stabbed Pandemonium in the throat instead of doing the cliche villain extremely-slow-waving-around-of-the-weapon-in-front-of-the-defenseless-hero.

EDIT: IT KEEPS EATING MY DAMNED QUOTES
@Tvistor - Silence. If not for that uber important trope, how many Bond movies would there have been?
I would really love a plot twist like Mhaldorian Gods are actually killing other Gods to allow them to gather in Lord Thoth's Realm and to strike back.
Even Evil has standards.

I was typing precisely this in all caps to my correspondents, you don't even know.
'OMG WHY DOESN'T SHE JUST -STAB- HIM ALREADY SHE'S GOING TO DIE FOR SURE'
*Pandemonium breaks hand, takes dagger, lops off Indrani's head*
'SADFASJDFK YOU SEE?!?!?! YOU SEE!!!!!!'(I sorry Indranians)

Yeah, I really hope there is going to be a massive plot twist. This event is more than awesome, but there is a certain linear quality to the narrative.
I won a competition awhile ago to have Chris Bourassa paint a picture of Lodi. My profile pic is the end product.

I was reading through that and facepalming when I realised my character had been following a bond villain's henchman.

That was the most amazing thing I've experienced on Achaea. Was pretty great, though I wish there was a -bit- more guidance on 'is the event over for today, or are the players supposed to do something now?', but still great fun was had and lots of great rp.
Plus Ashtan pulled off the most coordinated thing ever on Achaea.
That wasn't Ashtan. That was Babel's Order. GET IT RIGHT.

Ugh, just woke up and the event is still playing in my mind.
Do you know how terrifying dreams are when there is a massive decaying undead dragon chasing after you through clouds especially when you know you can't fly so you're terrified of falling and dying too?!

Imo, this event is less to engage players and more to allow for the game fixing recommendations that you all made not long ago. I would imagine it is difficult to create an event that allowed for player driven interaction without adding the chance to cancel implementation of the game fixing recommendations that were made and without leaving you with a hopeless feeling at the same time. This is simply because as Achaeans, we are a wholly irrational, selfish people.

Thank you so much for the daring effort you've made in doing this.
Ps: the game of thrones level of shameless fatalities rocks me every time.

I'd have to replace a severally damaged laptop if that happened....
I for one was deeply disappointed by the lack of turkeys after all the hype.
(I enjoyed it too. I wish I could have helped my fellow Dreadlords )
