@Wysteria I kinda want to wear that bottle opener as a pendant.
It's pretty weighty! I used a food scale and it's nearly 9oz / ~230grams.

Ah what the heck, I should probably add my picture (disclaimer: I accept no responsibility for short or long term blindness gained by looking upon my bland-kiwiesque visage)
Me with my girlfriend taken at my birthday dinner about 8 months ago now...

she mentioned a kidney stone in Rants. Get well soon @Xae!

You didn't look bad @Vadimuses! And not like any of us would've cared either. We spent most of our time before you came with wondering what was taking @Tahquil to find us anyway…
edit: spelling.

@Saeva Yeah.. thought it was appendicitis, turned out to be kidney stones. tears4years
I thought it was the my kidney throwing in the towel after all the steroids, antibiotics, etc I had been on for the weeks before... was a little relieved to hear stones...
Too many pics to choose from, but some here, sadly not as pro as @Aitox or @Sarapis (what lenses are you using??)
That was with a cheap $100 50mm lens, on a canon 7D. HDR, meaning, in this case, three images of the same scene at different exposures that are then munged together to increase the dynamic range of the pic. Long exposures on a tripod too (the lowest exposure was 16 seconds long I believe).
I've NEVER been able to get a good HDR pic to come out Metadata and merging program info please? Also is that a full frame dSLR? Looks wide for a 50mm (I'm stuck with an old non-full frame Pentax k10D)

The Canon 7D is a cropped sensor, not full-frame, so while it's a 50mm lens on there, it's actually more like 80mm equivalent due to the cropped sensor.
The keys to HDR are:
Shoot raw. Jpgs are way too lossy and don't hold enough info to use and get a great result. Convert the finished pic to a jpg only.
Shoot on a tripod. Anything else is guaranteed to produce a blurry image. Don't care how much image stabilization you use. Ideally, even trigger the shutter with a remote so that your finger pressing the button doesn't cause camera shake. (I used a remote for those shots for that reason.)
Generally, don't vary the exposures more than 2 stops in either direction if you're doing it via multiple exposures. You CAN produce an HDR image from a single raw photo (though not really from a jpg), but it's better to do multiple exposures.
Look for scenes that have very high contrast in them, as that's where HDR is useful.

I've used Canon EOS 500D with an EF 17-40mm lens for a job last time. If there's no IS available in the lens or your camera, seriously need a tripod if you want to get good HDR shots of changing scenery. I'm yet to get a shot with the pretty colours @Sarapis has though without the use of Photoshop

@Wysteria Well, I'm not sure the process of producing an HDR photo is substantially different from using photoshop. All photos are processed either inside a camera or during film processing anyway - there's no such thing as a #nofilter photo except in the rather meaningless "I didn't use one of Instagram's provided filters" sense.
@sarapis and @wysteria I always shoot RAW, usually dng since it's so universal, jpegs make me sad. I also always use a tripod when trying for HDR even though I have built in IS. It's not just the shake with the exposure times, but even keeping shot lined up properly. Just every time I try to merge them it always looks horrible, guess I just need to practice more. And unless I am crazy wrong a cropped 50,, should be closer to 75 than 80...which I guess I just nitpicking. I have a 50 1.2 that is pure *love*, but it always looks tighter than that shot you posted, tres jelly.
I have a photo somewhere of a swamp that I always said looks like it has been tainted with (Erisian) Chaos, will have to find it somewhere in my vast files....*goes look*
@Andrea start working on specializing in tilt shift photos then
@Sarapis that's true, though there are still a few purists who baulk at Photoshop and such. I'm a dark room lover myself for black and white photography, but silver bromide is a pain to find around here. The one thing about being in Australia and it being a little behind in technology is that there's still a niche market for film.

Commission List: Aesi, Kenway, Shimi, Kythra, Trey, Sholen .... 5/5 CLOSED I will not draw them in the order that they are requested... rather in the order that I get inspiration/artist block.

I have seriously got to see about cleaning that mirror at some point.

I meant I use a tripod so it would not be an issue! With out it would be a nightmare
Annnnd no idea how to post a picture, oh well.
