with nimble balance cost for ring of flying is just 1.7s.  Far superior to dragon FLY or flying mount.
    image
  • It's also superior to atavian flight, metamorphosis flight, and... just about everything. When the description is "lets you fly like an Atavian," that actually seems like something of a bug.
  • It being superior makes sense considering the price associated with it.
  • @Lothien, upgrade your critical pendant.
  • ring of flying not better than aerial in all situations though!

                   Party right, party hard,

                                            Sing and dance, perfect bard.

                                                                     Prefarar loop, accentato whore,

Buy a new rapier, get nerfed some more.

  • Ok, regen rings have come up in this thread before, but I wanted to make sure what I'd gathered from that was correct, and add a couple questions. Level 1 regen rings regen 2.5% every 10 seconds, for both mana and health? Is the second level of regen worth the same as the first, and is berkana the same as a level 1 ring (i.e. 2.5% with a level 1 ring, 5% with a level 2, 7.5% with level 2 ring + berkana)?
  • I'm pretty sure level 1 regen is 2%, and level 2 regen is 5%, but I can't remember whether level 3 is 7% or 8%. None are x.5%. This means that going from level 1 to level 2 is more effective than going from level 0 to level 1. I don't remember what the timer is, but 10 seconds sounds right.

Berkana does add a level of regen, same as a level 1 ring.
  • I suppose I could have just tested berkana myself. Now I have, and 2% on a 10s timer does indeed seem to be correct. Rounded down, as usual.
  • 2%, 5%, 8%

  • It's called Phylactery of Sixth Sense or something.
    Auction item. Tanris has.
  • In general, serpent class skills are made into general artefacts while other class skills become auction items.
    ;)
  • And there are still technically more serpents than any other class.

    You mean Blademasters.

(Party): Crixos says, "Open your wunjos, people of Sapience."
(Party): Crixos says, "Be nairated by my words."
  • Per the little dealy the gods posted somewhere, it was overwhelmingly serpents. I mean only 10% of them fight, and 10% of those fight well, but still.
I like my steak like I like my Magic cards: mythic rare.
  • @Lothien get a cool customisation or seven, it is the cheapest and most fun option.

  • What would be good options for an artefact for a monk? Budget is 400 credits for sure, maybe as much as 600 if I'm really into the idea. I suppose you can't really go wrong with a sip ring, but I'm just wondering whether there'd be something better/more interesting.
  • Bashing my head against a wall here. I have 500 credits on me and can not decide what to go for. 1vs1 is my main priority raiding is secondary. Looking for a decent investment for both Infernal and Dragon.

    I have:
Wings, SoA, Pipes, Quiver, Collared flying mount, Staff of Illusion, Shield tattoo.
Level 2 - Bow (without shoot upgrade), Sip ring, Pendant.

    I am considering:
Buckawns, but that is more for raiding.
    Ring of flying, redundant?
    More artie tattoos for convenience.
Diadem for faster shielding, illusions etc.
Shoot upgrade for bow in dragon.
    Lupine.
    Str for offensive boost.
    Wolverine claws, more for raiding?
    Robes because fuck Blademasters.
    Sash for deathaura, taint boost.

Not really sure what would give me a better 1vs1 boost.

Would help if you told us your major traits, spec build, total health/mana

Edit: Some basic info, in this order

    Trans mini skills
Upgrade to level 2 sip ring
    Con belt
    Mayan bracelet
Ring of Magus (helps against lolmagi dmg)

  • Ring of flying isn't really redundant, since it lets you fly at half the balance cost of dragon/mount flying. Dunno that it's much of a 1v1 boost, but convenient. Would be worth double checking that robes give the full mana reduction for clotting under impaleslash (rather than just reducing the fixed portion and leaving the max-mana dependent portion alone); I would assume they do. Not sure 1000 credits solely for a boost against one class is a great investment, either way.
  • Additional info:
    Troll defender level 99.
    Nimble, sawbones, receptive body.
    All miniskills transed.
All artefacts mentioned after "Level 2" are at that level.

Don't take this the wrong way, but since Mhaldor is the LoS specialist city I'd get the upgrade on the bow. You can breathstream, summon breath + shoot while waiting for breath to come back.
  • Was also thinking shoot shoot shoot, breathstream on shield but yeah it is a decent option. And no offence taken.

Lupines. It's as Nemutaur said. Summon breath;shoot, breathstream, repeat.

    Also notable mentions:

Diadem, robes of the magi, ring of the magus (and only 275cr), Buckawns, RoF and Lyre. (I'm sorry if I missed that you have any of them).
  • Mounts can be killed, and are considerably slower than the ring of flying. 1v1 it's very, very good for survivability against a lot of classes. Bracelets are also good all around, extra health is generally a boon, and will be worth a lot more for hunting (which I assume you do on occasion since you managed to get dragon).

13 strength, however, is pretty low. I've been considering upgrading my gauntlets, so I did some testing today; I'm getting about a 3.5% damage increase per point of strength starting at 16, you'd probably get a bit more than that from level one gauntlets. It doesn't, as I previously thought, modify engage damage, but will still be useful for doubleslash, lunge, impale, etc.
  • Invincible pet as a knight isn't a bad idea either. Soulpiercers let you vivisect but that's 3600cr.

Don't need soulpiercers to vivisect, in fact really fast rapiers are better for vivisect in general.  Soulpiercers do let you loldamage out moderate health opponents though (less say under 5000 health and under).

Makes it reliable and easy through more than one method.
  • With Soulpiercers you can damage kill practically anybody if they give you enough unhindered offense, just much easier with lower health people because "enough" is a much lower amount.

Frenzy 33% speed increase. Leaves you on positive essence if you vivisect and doesn't matter so much in the arena because replenishing afterwards. The cutoff from being able to vivisect in less than 3 dsl's provided no restore is 2.8 seconds pre-frenzy (And that's only vivisecting in 2 dsl's, you can do it in 3 or 4 with much slower rapiers or scimitars). The issue is more being able to bypass parry which again is barely a problem considering vivisect's setups, so at that point it's really a matter of herb stacking for asthma>rebounding and clumsiness vs knights/monks/blademasters/etc. Also who needs damage kills when you have access to an ability like vivisect.

EDIT: Which is definitely not worth 3200(sorry) credits. Just get a decent set of 235+/235+ speed rapiers that will last you more than a rl year if you look after them and cost like less than 1/10th of the price.

Would definitely not put spiercers very high in priority of artefact purchases for an Infernal, and certainly not before owning all artefacts mentioned above.
  • Not sure where this 3600 number came from. Level 3 weapons are 1600 credits, double that is 3200. Even at that amount, 400 credits is a pretty big difference. Not that I'm recommending Soulpiercers, for vivisect setups higher speed rapiers are simply better.
