Love Pacific Rim! All them larger than life machines and kaiju monsters that remind me of ormyrr and dala'myrr. Kek.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"

  • Don't start with the kek again!

all I can think of is kek lapis :(
"Faded away like the stars in the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun,
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,
Only remembered for what we have done."

  • My rave: Sharknado.

Just finished watching Despicable Me 2. So much laughter occurred. Next target: Pacific Rim.

  • Went out and saw Now You See Me last night. Nice to go out with friends for about the third time this year. ^^

Yeah, I always thought Silas was the catcher in your baseball analogy.

  • I hate that analogy.

Once we were working out people's positions on the metaphorical teams, and fifteen people in someone suggested I'd be a spectator. One who was sat at the back, didn't know the rules and would rather be someplace else anyway because they found the game boring.

Rave is that that brings back good memories.

See, that's when you suggest that you'd be the pinch hitter who would hit a ground rule double, but the last time you tried, you got snagged by the infield fly rule and had to be demoted to bat boy.

And then when everybody stares at you and your abomination of baseball terminology, you say "So, how about Man U?" and change the subject.

  • So long as I can change the subject to something more intellectual, IE not sports, then sure.

That was a great movie. The girls were adorable, and the story was actually decently fun to follow, unlike so many sequels. It definitely played a bit to my romantic side, though, so I'll concede that.

Best of all, it looks like our favourite Dawnlord even got to play a role in the movie!

Meet @Silas Ramsbottom. It took everything I had not to burst into fits of giggles when he came on-screen. ;))
I lol'd loudly when he came out. I couldn't help it because I thought the same, @Melodie.

It's great, they play 3 episodes back to back on thursday night, so it's like a little mini marathon every week.  This week had one of my favorite 2 parters - Improbable Cause and The Die is Cast.  Garek is awesome!

Nice enough weather on my day off to meet a friend and his daughter out at the shooting range. Had a great time.

  • @Ruth, @Melodie: Was actually waiting for someone to bring that up here. Heh heh, bottom, heh heh.

    Also, Tina's funny.

  • Just moved out of Florida.
  • Pacific Rim was quite possibly the best movie I've watched all summer! It's one of those must see in 3D films but totally worth the extra $3 or so.

Gah...the last couple of movies I have gone to, both of which were kids movies, @Silas has made an appearance in them. I did laugh pretty hard when I saw this guy in Despicable Me 2 though.
  • I was heading home from class today, and encountered a Muslim and two Hindu students talking about their faiths in the bus stop. I greeted them and joined their pleasant, insightful discussion, even when we were on the bus already. I learned a lot from them, things that I previously have read about in my World Literature class, but in a personal light that I like.

We then all pronounced that all of our faiths were just about doing one thing: doing good. It felt great to hear that truth, and it was with smiles that we saw each other off as we disembarked the bus and went our own ways.

    Faith in humanity strengthened.
