I had a dream it was going to snow last night(due to spotting snow flakes while cycling home), woke up this morning and saw everything was covered with snow. Kinda surreal.
Thanks to the boyfriend, pending more extensive tests to get everything working more seamlessly, my very very dinky laptop (256 megs of ram, 4 gigs of disk space) is now connected remotely to his computer, and through some black magic sorcery of his, I can now run mudlet much better, and I can now actually access and use things like a browser, skype and so on. It's no new computer, but it's a huge step up from what I had before.
I'm so excited. I might actually be able to lead raid defenses better now, spar better, less crashing and crap. Obviously still some issues to work out, but super excited!
Sweet lady. That's not a laptop. That's a brick with a screen.
Waking up to Lucy pics is the best way to start the day. @Dunn!

Before I was given that (by a very lovely Achaean who lives a few hours from me), my situation was sharing a computer with the boyfriend, or otherwise using the original iPod touch to connect to chat. We used to drive each other -crazy- about that, and bicker constantly.
Actually, to those who know anything of Mel's history - during the time the Citadel in Shallam had sent out a missive to Cyrene, Pentharian eventually summoned me to a group of six Citadel members plus himself. I spent 95% of that meeting (maybe 45 minutes total) on said iPod, trying to answer a very mad God while at the same time defending my position.
Insert several vulgar, crude explicitives here.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Whenever we used to screw around in Mhaldor, I somehow avoided Shaitan's wrath every goddamn time. We'd be sitting in a room after abusing the hell out of no-exp loss for a bloodbath on the streets, and then people would start dying in horrific ways.
Somehow everyone around me would be dead, gleefully awaiting my demise and then... nothing. Like four times.
Don't get me wrong, I love them, but the family politics that goes on for that side of the family is awkward and tiring. It's not really that bad, but I hate having to posture and fake smile and do small talk and avoid this uncle and that and blah. So glad to be home.

It's not as bad as I hear some families get, it's just very under-the-table sort of stuff (oh, I hear your daughter has a job now? Mine's married to a doctor ) which is bleh.

Mine's along the lines similar lines. Cousin is married to someone of a high position, or they're big themselves with 3.2 sons or something. Then they rub in I'm old, single and an artist which to them is something you do in the margins of your history exercise books. 100% guaranteed downside of SE Asian family one-up crap we deal with.

Alright, I thought that leaving on-the-job training finally freed me from the depradations of humans who hunt eldritch abominations. Here I was, participating in what collegiate humans call 'Personal Effectiveness - Career Development'. Sitting to the left of me was a comely, dangerous-looking human female. What EDIT: Sorry, had to cut short my chronicle of survival against a relentless huntress:

Sometimes I like to check doors to see if they're locked (I blame this on Achaea). Last night while at a concert I roamed a very large fancy theatre. I wandered around until I found an unlocked door in an out of the way place. I quickly scuttled through the door to find this.
BORING
There was a second door and I decided to explore further (much like the thousandth door and mystery portals, I simply can't resist unlocked doors).
I pulled open the door and slipped into the room. It was the ladies, a horrified woman stared at me. "just taking the historical tour" I mumbled before scampering back to my seat.
Sitting in the office with my feet up, watching a thunderstorm rage outside, while munching on lettuce and cucumber.
It's a really lovely day. It's Monday! It's a Monday and I am not stressing, and I have rabbit food. So happy.
Oh! And some lady asked me for change to buy a bottle of water. Since I rarely have coins on me, I bought her a bottle of water instead.
