Finally started to settle in my new flat, which is lovely by the way, there's lots of birds on the rooftops outside and it's all warm and bright and big!
I'm going to have my life ruined by Sims University, which I just received, and I'm off to see a play later. Life is good today
My rave is that Sohl only has 3 weeks(ish) until he graduates from boot camp!!
I can be PM'd for his address if anyone wants to write to him and relieve some of the misery/stress. I know he'd appreciate hearing from folks.
The sweltering heat of the forge spills out across the land as the rumbling voice of Phaestus booms, "I want you to know, the Garden reaction to that one is: What?" The voice of Melantha, Goddess of the Seasons, echoes amid the rustle of leaves, "That's the censored version."
I've got an interview next week for the volunteer coordinator position I applied for! I am excited but nervous, because I haven't interviewed for anything since July.
As an aside, is it bad of me that I take relish in the idea of getting paid to make unpaid people do things?
I put $2 in the kitty for our shopping complex doing the $2 sweepstakes. I pulled Red Cadeaux from the hat and scored $10 for coming in second. Woo.

@Eld Woah dude, you make eggnog? Can we hang? I'll bring my hula hoop. We can listen to music, hoop, and drink nog.
Yes, but I think we're on opposite coasts, so we'll need to figure something out. In the meantime, I just use Alton Brown's recipe. The availability of eggnog recipes should not be a reason not to hang, though.
My university choir is performing Verdi's Requiem in a couple of weeks. We've been rehearsing since October, but yesterday evening was the first time we had the orchestra with us (until now we had been accompanied by a couple of keyboards).
I was expecting an absolute shambles, because we've been rehearsing with different conductors, and the choir were in a different venue from usual - but the sound of the orchestra (who have a brand new bass drum) in conjunction with the choir was incredible! I am looking forward to this concert so very much.
Also, the choir master was standing next to me singing tenor, and told me afterwards that I was sounding really good and that he'd been following me throughout. I consider myself one of the weaker singers, so this was really pleasing to hear.

Oh god. We stand upon the dawn of a new era. OOC Rants is about to transition from Kyrra hating her job to Kyrra hating her search for a new job. Brace yourselves.

I needed new material to rant about anyway.

you could always rant about the lack of rants

Over 12k words, second time doing a NaNo and I hadn't gotten this far before. Eeeee. I don't care if I really reach the 50k words, but knowing I'm actually getting the story down makes me so friggin happy!
Thanks to the boyfriend, pending more extensive tests to get everything working more seamlessly, my very very dinky laptop (256 megs of ram, 4 gigs of disk space) is now connected remotely to his computer, and through some black magic sorcery of his, I can now run mudlet much better, and I can now actually access and use things like a browser, skype and so on. It's no new computer, but it's a huge step up from what I had before.
I'm so excited. I might actually be able to lead raid defenses better now, spar better, less crashing and crap. Obviously still some issues to work out, but super excited!
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

Sorry gaiz.
ETA: Sorcery. At least I got to expand my collection of esoteric one-off solutions. Like the raster engine in recent versions of QT having performance issues over remote X11 which is fixed by forcing use of the native graphics engine. E.g., "mudlet --graphicssystem native" is smooth remotely over the LAN whereas without the switch the output's more jerky than an epileptic in Gotham.

This is a rave but it sure doesn't feel like it.
Viva la Bluef.

@Gamoneterik, I'm looking at you.
