The drop rates for both of those pieces have been fixed. Basically from the minute it was mentioned to Tecton in the ask your producer. Do not pay those prices any more. They're beyond ridiculous.
I have yet to see a visible change in the drop rates, actually. Gold tooth and blue scale is still very rare (and I bash a lot of talisman spots).
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
It is definitely fixed. Anyone paying 10cr is stupid. 5cr is pushing it. 2-3 cr is still too much but people are still playing catchup with the pieces.
well the chance to get them is still crazy, its what 1 of 48 pieces to get out of the already implemented drop rate of the denizen your bashing. So i am not a mathematician but the chance of getting that exact piece is already low so an increase in its drop rate isn't going to be something you notice to much at all. The change just makes it realistic to complete on your own now along with the other pieces. Still takes forever or a lot of spending.
How are there people in the Consortium still so low HR? You can get 1-5 in like a week tops... And then the advancement I made before leaving, you could easily do 5-9(or 10?) in like another week or two. (maybe a month, if you're being lax)
And you know, going from novice to access to most of a House's privileges and secrets as well as being flagged as a high and mighty that novices should be able to ask any question in two weeks is a rather awful design.

Agree/disagree, I'd have to see the advancement requirements though. 2 - 3 weeks for HR1 - HR10 sounds a bit excessive though.
I had made HR1-HR5 in the CIJ fairly simple, just basic requirements, a performance or two, and a couple interviews. Then an accumulative points-based advancement system from HR5 - HR10. IIRC it was like 10 points > 15 points > 20 points > 25 points to advance ranks, and different tasks had different points. So like, 3 points for putting on a public performance that drew a good crowd, 1 point for designing CIJ-themed clothes/jewelry, etc. The people who took advantage of the system, I had no problem with them advancing the ranks quickly, because it meant they put in the work.

HR1-5, you could do in virtually any house in <a week if you put your mind to it, and actually WANT to advance in the house. Post HR5 (from the ones I've seen, at least) you can easily do maybe 7-8 in another week and a half, if not two. -shrug-
Advancement isn't nearly as 'hard' as it once was. Anywhere. That doesn't mean it's terribly designed. Moreso that admin cracked down on having massive amounts of essay-writing as tasks, so pretty much anyone can do them when they want.
From HR6 to HR7 we have a 1-year gate, and from HR7 to HR8 a three-year gate, where you have to be an aide to a ministry. I've found myself sitting here doing nothing, in terms of house advancement, just waiting for my time u.u.
Definitely better than blazing through the ranks, though, I suppose.
I think Tahquil's point was that if the system is designed so you can sashay to HR10+ in a week, then it doesn't really come with much sense of accomplishment or investment for the player doing it, and you'll have "leaders" and "role models" that don't actually know that much about the House they're in or about their responsibilities/powers/authority because they shot through the ranks so fast. When novices go to those people, seeing that rank and expecting them to know what's up, there's a risk that they won't be of much help, and that doesn't really put your best foot forward when dealing with new players.
Don't think there's a right or wrong way for a House to handle its own progression, do what works for your own House, but I agree there should be a balance between ease of advancement and actual time/effort required. Big accomplishments aren't big accomplishments if you can breeze through them, and you want people to be immersed and soak in your culture before they're suddenly eligible to take leadership positions.
-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.
I was told that during my dormancy houses were told to pull way back on requirements by admin, and to essentially make them fairly easy.
Can anyone confirm? I figured that's why Legates tasks were so easy that you could do 1-5 in a few hours of the right people were around.
Specifically, I know that Houses are frowned upon if they do things like "you must write a ritual" (Sarapis commented on it in this thread) or "you must write an essay" for their advancement. But in general, yes. If people want to advance, at least up to HR5, then they should at least have a decent opportunity to do so without having to do something insane like write an entire book on combat, or design a ritual that requires sixteen different types of implement, five hours fasting in preparation, four assistants, pinpoint timing on at least two different planes of existence, three sacrificed goats, one dead Targossan, and a banana.

This.
I understand people have different views on what acceptable house work is, but when you work 8-16 hours a day depending on the day, if something feels less like a game and more like work that I'm not getting paid for, it's just not going to happen.
Above post is what every single player in any kind of house leadership should read. It's extraordinarily easy to become burned-out by completing an endless ocean of tasks. This is why, when I am motivated to play anymore, I won't join any orgs that require house membership. Which is sad, really, because there's one that has a ton of potential and looks like it could be a lot of fun if not for the house requirement.
Give us -real- shop logs! Not another misinterpretation of features we ask for, turned into something that either doesn't help at all, or doesn't remotely resemble what we wanted to begin with.
Thanks!
Current position of some of the playerbase, instead of expressing a desire to fix problems:
Vhaynna: "Honest question - if you don't like Achaea or the current admin, why do you even bother playing?"

Yeah, that's true. But I also watched -you- burn -yourself- out of your own free will. So it's pretty much up to people to set their own pace. If you don't want to invest tons of effort, why should you be high house rank? Nobody thinks less of those who linger in lower ranks for lack of time or motivation. They might get a nudge or questions ever so often but it's not because there's something wrong with it, just wonder. Also its' because we like to know what or where road bumps are.

Targossas could clearly use one less, and I don't know one way or another about Ashtan, but the cities with two houses seem to be doing well enough (and that's basically the minimum possible while still actually having houses, besides).

I've been wrong before, o' course, but I do believe it is fixed.

- Have a vivisected corpse of a known enemy placed at NoT, keeping with tradition
- Stand in the room with the Leviathan for 2 mins and survive. Grow through suffering.
- Defile an enemy shrine within their city and await any form of response. Will only be accomplished if you survive.
- Buy an L2 weapon or better

Targossas has no House requirement. Nudge nudge.
This. 1000 times this.
