I do tend to deliver unless I'm logged in on my phone, or in my house in the subs, or engaged in a conversation where I don't wanna deliver someone and risk them AFKing or just lingering there for the next ten minutes. Because RP wise, that's what Kasya would do. I sometimes even remember I have an auto-deliver toggle for when I'm semi-afk or can't raid/skirmish for whatever reason. Cause the vast majority of the time, dying doesn't bother me, so why even sweat it? On a rare occasion, I'll call for a deliver and be alright if I don't get one, cause y'know. It's cool. Or I'm on a mono. Whatever.

Since this is memorable quotes though, though this rarely happens, it does still on occasion:

    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"

    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"
Person has been slain by whoever.

    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"

    (Targossas): Person says, "Deliver"

    Person dies. Again. Embraces.

(Targossas): Person says, "Six devotionists and none of you could deliver?!"

At which point I'm always tempted to say, "Oh. Sorry. Didn't hear you." Cause I can be a smartass, but really that's just obnoxious, stop.

Thats exactly how I felt when I was a druid and someone spammed city asking for a gate.

And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

...But you'll always follow the voices beneath.

Not gonna lie, the people who say that on CT definitely go in a "do not save this dude" folder in my head. Be thankful when it works but dont be a bitch when it doesn't.

  • Deliver is nothing like Duanathar because Deliver takes you back to your safe city on your safe guards and Duanathar takes you to the clouds where you can still be chased. Someone with a faction that has piety being mad about gravehands is also lol.

Deliver and puppet summons just make people weep. They are basically old earrings and you get to see who ruined the good time. So since it's better than earrings, which are expensive af,  people are generally inclined to react I guess.

  • IMO the main argument against deliver is it can be used no matter what condition you're in as long as there's no mono

I tend to ignore spammed gate requests. Helps that I'm rarely close enough to do them anyway (or I'm in dragon).

Duanathar isn't necessarily hard to counter. And if you have wings yourself it's not hard to chase to Skies.
    - (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place."
    - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely."
    - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")."
    - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish."
    - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

All you complainers are lucky I have no interest in playing either of our factional classes.  I would totally sit at Rally Point and be a deliver whore all day.  For those that deliver me: consider yourself lucky you don't get a kiss on the mouth. I feel like "Thanks!" Is as far as you want this to go, but if you want more, just let me know!

He is a winged atavian. He has an aura of mystery surrounding him. You cannot tell his facial expressions if any underneath his crimson hood and eerie white mask. However taking a closer look you can see unfathomable power surging inside of him waiting to be unleashed upon the realms.

... novices are adorable sometimes. Oh dear.

I'll admit, I don't get why Gravehands counter is non-factional but Piety's counter is factional. Would be interesting if Bard was able to counter both.

Gravehands can be put up at range (using soulspear), doesn't get removed when the person who put it up is killed, and there's no way to know who laid it if you didn't see them do it. Piety requires the Devotion user to be in the room to put it up, fades when they die, and you can use Rites to find out who it is. Piety is also limited to the size of the Devotion user's enemy list, and requires them to have good management of enemies to be effective, unlike Gravehands which just hits every non-Mhaldorian (plus personal enemies, I think?). Piety also fades pretty fast if the Devotion user isn't in the room, I'm not sure if there's a similar effect on the duration of Gravehands if the Necromancer isn't present.

Basically, despite them filling the same purpose, they're definitely not just reskinned copies of each other. I imagine a more compelling argument than "Bard can counter gravehands." is required.
  • @austere - should make a priest alt that afk's at rally point whenever you're not logged in, with a deliver trigger enabled.

  • WOAH. Wait, wait, wait.... You can put gravehands at range with a soulspear for how long?!?
  • Dying (actually dying, never mind cage/burst) also doesn't remove your gravehands, whereas just bursting kills all your rites, soooo.

For about a year now, I think? Could probably get the exact date searching through Announce posts: SEARCHNEWS ANNOUNCE SOULSPEAR.

Agreed. Priest is a lot better than other factional classes, pls give balance.

  • I think Apostate/Priest/Jester are definitely the S tier classes in Achaea right now.

Utility, 1v1 capability, and strong group presence that can push multiple kill avenues that synergize well with others. There are other classes that might individually beat them in one of those areas (Serpent utility, Forestal classes group synergy wtf, etc), but they excel in basically every area currently. People might disagree on Priest, but honestly there hasn't been a good Priest player in RL years, so it's not as obvious how ridiculous that class can be.

For specifically Piety vs other stuff, I personally think Piety edges out the other two, but Tentacles/GH are pretty close. The factor that sets Piety apart in my mind is how spammable it is, given its cost vs total Devo pool.

Alchemist isn't even close to the tier of those classes. It's strong, sure, and can assist with certain strategies. It can't do more or less everything like those 3 can.

  • He's not wrong with what he is saying. Priest/Serpent 2's is crazy OP fun and priest in raid group is just deadly all around. I'm just barely starting to dial in priest offense and it's already so crazy good.
  • edited November 2015
Morthif gets it, Priest is crazy powerful, but it's something that needs coding to really excel just given how many good things you can be doing at any given time (especially in raids). Jester > Priest > Apostate for coding difficulty required to make the class S tier.

Also, hoping XP event is just "During this time take a 1 hour window to see how much XP you can get from this gauntlet thing" (the thing Jhui/Iakimen bashed in for the tie-breaker)

  • Alchemist doesn't fit into Jarrod's list because Alchemist isn't S-tier for groups (it certainly is for 1v1, replacing Apostate in that list imo)
