I have a script that automatically sets my sip to average and updates as necessary, but it's for HTML5 and isn't even slightly economical with the moss (it tries to heal as quickly as possible).
    Care to share?

    Sure.

The package is called Picture of Health and Mana.

    Important notes:
    • It has a couple of dependencies, so I threw them in the zip too. They all work invisibly and should never interfere with anything. You can just pretend they aren't there.
    • If you look at the onLoad function in the Picture of Health and Mana package, you'll find instructions at the top (including what order to put the packages in if you get any errors).
    • Like I said, it optimises using moss. It doesn't have a way to disable using it either. If you're trying to cure as economically as possible (in terms of gold), this is not the package for you.
Edit: I forgot, this is set up for a level 2 sip ring too, since I have one.

If you want to change that, you need to find this line in onLoad:

    sip_health = Math.round(100 - (Math.floor(Math.floor(Math.floor(0.15 * max_health + 70) * 1.2) * sulphur_multiplier) * 1.005) / max_health * 100);

Change the 1.2 to 1 if you don't have a sip ring, 1.1 if you have a level 1 sip ring, or 1.3 if you have a level 3.
  • Added one of the wrong packages to the zip, here's a fixed version.
  • Do Windwhip and Thornlash Rend improve with more lessons invested in their respective skills (Weatherweaving and Propagation)?

With 4.5k health Ainly mangled both my legs with half a doublewhirl. At least that's what it felt like
4.5k health is sadly not at all enough health for pk these days, at least against certain classes. Dual blunt, BM, and artied monk will just destroy that health level. I'd say at least 5k for pk, but I always played con spec classes and had > 6k on Xinna.

You can get by with different health levels as different classes, too, based on how good your class's prone defense is and how fast your class can kill. A trueparrying bard gunning for truelock against an opponent who is going straight for breaks and not running to cure up can get by with less health than someone that needs to actually survive enemy setups before they can win. <3 bard.
  • Mizik somehow makes it work with like 4.1k hp :anguished:
  • If you downloaded the spreadsheet before about 2 minutes ago, re-download it. There was another error that was throwing off the efficiency of credits.

  • So, according to gmcp, there are in-game vnums for rooms. Is there a way to WALK TO those?
  • edited February 2016
    I don't think so.

The in-game walk-to can go to the listed landmarks, custom landmarks, NPCs and certain other players via traits. If you learn some NPC names, you can use it to get around relatively quickly (Candlemas can get you to Azdun for instance).

The mudlet mapper has probably very close to every room in the game in it though and you can definitely walk to arbitrary rooms by number (though I think it still uses its own numbering system, not the ones from GMCP).

The mudlet mapper uses the same numbering system as GMCP does.
    Huh. Neat.

The last time I had a look at the Nexus map and how it handled clicks on a room (which made you walk there) it indeed used WALK TO vnum and it also worked if keyed in manually. It's been a while since I last checked though.

    Edit: spelling is hard, k?
  • What did you type? I tried WALK TO # and WALK TO V# and neither worked.

I'd try vnum#, but I can't remember. I'll have a look when I have access to my computer where I can have a look at the source.
  • I guess it's been removed, if the walking to mobs was added in recently, to avoid conflicting.
  • Does that mean I can do WALK TO Mhunna and if the mob isn't there, I won't start walking?  Seems like an easy way to see if bashing areas are likely to be cleared.

In some cases, "There is no such landmark", in others, "You're too far away", in others, "RandomMob is dead..."

Yes, as long as you're just checking key denizens one at a time and not everything in an area. Checking a bunch of denizens at once would be problematic (probably not punishment-worthy, but if it's known that you're doing it you'll probably be asked to stop). I asked about it after making a script to check what denizens in an area are alive.

I've definitely never seen Mizik survive a setup against a good fighter of any class I listed with 4.1k health. Though, like I said, some classes can kill before they get prepped and get by that way (not an option for every class though).

It's always going to depend on 1) your class and 2) whether you're willing to just say fk it, I can't beat <artied fast prep pwn class person>. I don't think it's safe to say 4k health can actually survive against a lot of really easy setups of BM/dual blunt/monk, though.
  • Mizik doesn't need HP because he kills you before you can attack.

  • Yeah I'd rather aim for like 5k+ hp because of those specific classes you mentioned, too. I was just saying Mizik's a freak :chuffed:

Nope. Just a serpent with a WoT. He's no Jhui either. He actually loses a decent amount, relatively.

Everything's going to depend on what class you want to play and just -how- good you want to be, or rather how many people you want to be able to beat. You can do "well" while still always losing to certain people. Always losing to certain people drives me nuts though. I have to feel like I can beat -everyone-. Thus, bring on the HP.

  • Oh, yeah, WoT helps too
  • @Qwyn after another look at the source it's a pretty different command: PATH FIND <num>

Also, having messed with it a fair by myself, the command doesn't seem to break area barriers.

aka if you're in targossas it only works there. It's provided a table of rooms for the area it reads from.
  • Like @Xinna said, Serpent is one of the few classes that can end fights before the listed monsters take me down for the one shot.

More so against dual blunt Knight than the others, no matter how good my offense is, once I'm prone, I'm dead.

    Glass cannon is exciting!

PS: Ugh, I keep forgetting I have WoT.

  • Which gods are active? There seem to be a lot listed, but not so many actively played for RL years, I'm discovering.
  • Lorielan, Deucalion, a Aurora, Artemis, Gaia (? Maybe), Valnurana (? Maybe), Pandora (? Maybe)... Not many

Was wondering that as well, I haven't seen a single god on qwho or shouts or do anything in the realms in the almost 2 months I've been back, has the garden taken a more backseat to the realms these days?

Wow is that really all, 4 actives and 3 maybes?  I remember each city having 2-3 gods representing it.  Kinda sucks being in a city with an inactive patron and no House patrons at all.
