    ~Kresslack's obsession~
  • I guess next time I'm fighting somebody who decides to drop shivering prio, I'll just keep epseth/eptething until they get frozen.

Isn't there some kind of insta-kill you can do with a frozen opponent?  Bash or something?
    ~Kresslack's obsession~
  • Pound, which is a Gorilla morph ability akin to BBT, instantly kills frozen opponents. It's only available to Metamorphs (Druids and Sentinels).

Does it instantly kill or just do alot of damage? (like disembowel)
Pretty sure i've survived frozen pounds before only to get hit by incarnate afterwards.. but I don't understand forestal classes at all.

  • Those were tough times (except for the whole instant incinerate thing). Freeze pound was ~97% damage mitigated by all-resist things like Algiz and Scales. As of May 1st it is now an instant kill.

  • Something like:

Jhui barges in from the south!
Jhui slams into you at full force.
You feel your frozen body crack down the middle, then split apart in an eruption of crimson ice and gore.
You have been slain by Jhui.

I really hope dual blunt gets something like this, because damn.
    ~Kresslack's obsession~
  • Cause dual blunt isn't/wasn't easy enough as it is/was on Anarchaea. Let's give it an instakill on top of it, despite Assault pretty much being one already if set up correctly.

  • I still wish I was less stubborn on the aesthetics of Trey. Could never see not being a swordsman (unless there's ever a musketeer/gunslinger class. Then I'm totally picking up a gat, yo)

Clearly you didn't even look at the log, and it's not just about having the raw data, it's knowing how to process it. I am still learning combat, slowly but surely.

Yes, I did.  You applied restoration to legs with a prepped torso while unable to move.  That's text a textbook free win via heartseed.

SLC can be used in several ways to help you / prevent this.

    1)  You should set up warnings for torso prep, and should probably parry better.
    2)  You should could have/should have walled/somersaulted on first leg break
    3)  You should NEVER apply restoration to anything while your torso is prepped against sylvan, while they're on balance (you heal legs if they use eq/bal for anything (can be done with triggers or manually).
    * Exception: Pre-application to torso, which would have also saved you.

Any number of these, along with various class tricks, could have been used to save you.  As a bard, you could easily stop a heartseed sequence with a one or two percussias (even with poor heartseed curing, sylvans only have a 1-2 second window to heartseed/break torso)

RE: spar with @Darkender: You need to prio hypochondria better.  It looks like you still have a really old system, or haven't updated prios for new hypo.  He could have/should have truelocked you, based on the fact that he got you to impatience by doing nothing but spamming paralysis on you.

There is also a long list of ways you could have healed up/turtled vs his pure DPS strategy at the end, during which you were in no way locked or hindered.  Looks like you just kept attacking him, even at 36% health with weariness, clumsiness, and lethargy.  You weren't hamstringed, you could have literally just walked away.

Also, thanks to the new void mechanics, you can end void by simply preventing pommelstrike for a few seconds.  Can easily be done by breaking a few of his limbs, running, turtling, etc.  Bard has class access to prismatic shield, and BM has no problem bypassing it (although can't maintain void through it).  I see no problem with using it in this case.

Also, use rebounding and parry.  Get/use a mount if you can to help with dodge chance and evasion.

@Klendathu - Not trying to be a dick at all, I am hoping these suggestions will be helpful.

@Darkender - Nice job with the affliction setup, I take partial credit for your win! XD
  • Bard has class access to prismatic shield? Where do you come up with these things?

Most of what you said is correct, but percussia isn't really something I would recommend as a defensive mechanism. It would by no means be "easy" to use as such, given its huge eq time and the fact that poor timing (which isn't even entirely within your control, since you have to use it while standing and hope that they time their setup with it) would make it useless.

Also, unless you sat down and worked with @Darkender, you can hardly take credit for his kills. Maybe you did do this, but if you're seriously just taking credit because you think you were first to use afflictions as BM (whilst simultaneously not crediting all of your priest truelocks to me, for example), you're just being egotistical and silly.

    I did.

  • That's exactly the same thing as you taking credit for loads of priest combatant stratrgies Xinna, unless you talked it through with all of them which I doubt. You did pretty much demonstrate its effectiveness, but to assume responsibility for kills in the same way Ernam did is just as egotistical.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I just said.

Edit: I was comparing him taking credit for every BM aff kill to me taking credit for every priest truelock kill (which I don't do, even though some people sometimes jokingly attribute them to me).
