Having moved a character from Mhaldor to Cyrene, my three biggest takeaways have been: (1) Self-direction; (2) FRIENDLINESS; (3) Ubiquitous divines.
I like all these things. Mhaldor's espirit de corps is impossible to replicate, exactly, but it's fun to never log into (1) Korean Shrine Torture; (2) [ADVENTURER] has invited you to join a party, already, so stop pretending otherwise x10; or (3) The CWHO Blues.

Daily slog of the seven truths got you down? Tired of hearing "our unit may not be the biggest, but it's the best" after being ganked by a bunch of noobs -again-? Cyrene! A mountain paradise for retired evil-doers. No stray animals! No beggars (eeew, poor people)! No icky body parts on the street! Active divine to soothe all those daddy Sartan issues!
I only read the first two pages and this 8th page. I am pretty much a complete first timer (First city on my first MUD on my third RPesque game - the first two were Minecraft and DnD) but so far, Cyrene has be extremely engaging. There were four or five events on while i was online today with most having a slight overlap. This may not be the right place to say it but, Thanks everyone, for the great start!
I've had a similar experience to Asyru. Cyrene is a really engaging City, there is always something going on and someone is always willing to help you if you get stuck or have a question.
Funny. When Siena was cyrenian or when i had alts in cyrene, the most entertaining and engaging thing the city ever did on a monthly basis was a rite of dawn.
Commission List: Aesi, Kenway, Shimi, Kythra, Trey, Sholen .... 5/5 CLOSED I will not draw them in the order that they are requested... rather in the order that I get inspiration/artist block.

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important
