Jesus, I hope not. Asara has a better eye for design than THAT, plus her denizen list is http://asaesl.freehostia.com/denizens.html, plus she's not quite been gone 6 RL years yet.
You gingerly pull an elegant white letter from an overstuffed, stygian-hued satchel at your side, ignoring the sheaf of papers that threatens to spill from its lip.
Yay, my customised mail delivery messages are now in!
Wait, is the customisation thing for the silver whistle the message you get when someone mails you? I assumed it was for customising the message other people get when you mail them using the whistle.
Rave to @Jurixe@Ruth@Ellodin and whoever else was involved with the Reformation (apologies to those I missed!). That kind of excellent player-driven contribution is the kind of thing that makes great players great. They make things happen and they create rather than sitting around and complaining.
These sorts of things are a nightmare to organise, but there were a ton of people there and it was a really neat way to get everyone together. I would love to see this become a (RL) yearly tradition or something.
I'm still kind of in shock that this actually happened, and that it took off so well. It seems like just yesterday that this was nothing more than a Skype idea, and we were skeptical about how the cities would react.
I'll spare you the massive chain rave but I really must mention a few by name - @Ellodin and @Ruth for the Restoration's side, for helping me fine-tune all the descriptions and reactions and getting everything else done as needed - trust me, there was quite a bit.
On the cities' side, @Khaibit, @Phelia, @Valentinus and @Taraus (and @Ellodin again) for being the true stars of the show. It is incredibly difficult to round up people to move and to act, what more for such a daunting thing as presenting an entire city's worth of culture to the world. You all did fantastic given the limited resources, time, and personnel that you had, as well as some last-minute scares and changes. CLs, I hope you are giving your MoCAs a pay rise and some love - they deserve it. The Convention literally would not be without them - we just provide the venue.
Additional raves to @Seraya, @Marisella for all their effort with their presentations and helping out with their city's pavilions. I'm not supposed to have favourites so I won't say, but I'll note that I was -really- impressed by the quality of some presentations today. Those that gamely stepped up to be the face of their city deserve applause. Plus everyone else - @Ginovianna, @Jarrod, @Saeva, @Melodie, @Verrucht, and probably a whole host more I've forgotten that helped out with the pavilions. I expect the MoCAs can make their own raves.
Thank you to everyone who came and made the Convention a success! Most people were respectful except an errant few, but I guess nothing is perfect. It can be done though, I believe in you. Nothing too bad happened anyway.
Finally, members of the Garden that gave the Convention just that extra touch of magic to make it a truly memorable event (not naming, but you know who you are!). I have nothing else to say but thank you. You didn't have to, but with your help, it really became something special.
Overall, I'm just really happy that we did it, that we got enough people to make everyone's efforts worth it, and that people seemed to like it. It opens up so many new avenues of roleplay and interaction, and we had so many newbies today that were literally wandering around everywhere wide-eyed and mouths agape at everything being displayed and done. It is crazy to think that together, we made something magical.
The atmosphere was incredible - addressing the ENTIRE WORLD on the steps of the Athenaeum and unveiling the plaque, watching the presentations together and seeing how people reacted in the Theatron, walking through the different pavilions and participating in activities/looking at the displays. So many different personalities and people all together learning about each other, interacting with each other. I loved it all and I hope you did too.
I'm so relieved this is over but truly happy that everyone enjoyed themselves (as far as I know) and that we managed to pull it together and make it a success. We definitely plan to host further events, so look out for those. As to whether this will become a recurring event or not, I guess we'll see!
P.S. Also sorry to anyone who tried to interact with me but found me a bit slow/nonresponsive. It's really hard to keep track of a thousand different things, but I promise I won't ignore you if you approach me again at a later date!

Had a lot of fun at the convention! Didn't know what to expect, but it all turned out well. I think my favorite part was Mhaldor's childrens choir. Would be neat to see them perform in public again sometime.
The convention was so much fun. @Taraus thanks for being such an inspiration for Mhaldor, you are most beloved.
Every other city who chose to invest, you were such a blessing to get to share time and efforts with. I love being able to take a pause from the general aggressive life of being a Mhaldorian to just congregate with you all for a legitimate reason. Such a treat.
Played UnCyrenian families at the Convention today- it was pretty hilarious. I think some of us Mhaldorians drove @Phelia crazy (she was hosting it). Her head shook and her hands met her face many, many times. XD
Thanks so much for the wonderful event today, all who were involved. The performances were really superb- so much creativity! I'm really impressed by all the organisation that must have gone into this. Also, I'd never interacted so extensively with other city characters before and it was a refreshing experience.
Thanks so much for everyone who came out to the convention! I had such a fantastic time, watching all the presentations, interacting with people I rarely get to see (and people whom I often see in an different light!), and just overall sharing each other's presence in a way we just don't get to do very often.
Big thanks to everyone who managed to stick around for the children's choir. It ended up being held a lot later than I thought it'd be, so I was glad many still got to see it, as it was a big labor of love.
Biggest raves to the main four founders and all the cities who contributed to the efforts!
Edit: More importantly, huge rave to @Taraus, who is awesome to work with and has the best sorts of unconventional inspirations and thoughts. I don't think I've had this much fun with a Minister of Culture since my first, Finchy, way back in the long long ago days. Also huge rave to @Saeva, who is always my partner in crime and we always manage to make the most amazing things together.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
I will put up a log on 'Roleplay logs' for the individual city presentations. @Zarla already got the Mhaldorian choir one so I'll skip that.
The support from the Garden was more than what I could hope for. The portal made all the difference; with easier transportation to Meropis, even novices who would otherwise have difficulties attending were able to make it.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
Whoa! I wasn't really upset that I was going to miss it, but now I'm super upset.
I missed most of it. Came in just as the Hashan presentation was winding down. Still stayed around for the rest of it anyway.
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
I really didn't want to go. I grumped at Verrucht as soon as he told me I had to, and for about an hour leading up to it. That's really just because I avoid groups as much as possible.
Loner attitude aside, it was actually a ton of fun, and despite how quiet I was through the whole thing, I was on the edge of my seat through all of it, hanging on every word of the presentations and so on.
All the raves are well deserved. Thank you to everyone who put in all the work to achieve that, and to the big meaniehead that made me be around people.

SoW Pebble isn't worth the price now, since the portal is still up
Big congrats to everyone involved, sad that I didn't get a chance to participate (but that was my own fault). While I still probably won't participate, hope everyone has fun as a result and make Achaea even better.
Edit: Nevermind about the portal. Gone now
You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.

preeety sure that portal is going down soon. Make use of it while you can!
My favorite part was playing the UnCyrenian families game with all of them.
It was a blast to see how bad Mhaldorian culture meshed with that game, but it was absolutely hillarious none the less.
"So if I am the murderer, I get to kill people." "Well, no, you don't really kill them." -all of the mhaldorians. "why not?"
I foresee a western variation of UnCyrenian Families soon!

I had a blast at, and with, the convention. I'll spare a list of @s, those who I relied on and appreciate know full well who they are -- but still a huge thanks, and giant squee of delight.

@Tael you can customise the following messages with the silver whistle :
(sender and sender's room perspective) : request letter, request parcel, mail letter/parcel (receiver and receiver's room perspective) : mail delivered
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
I foresee a western variation of UnCyrenian Families soon!
I can just see it: Narrator: Oh no dear citizen, it seems that late in the someone snuck into Jarrod's bedroom and slipped a teddy bear into the sleeping man's arms! He was found in the morning curled up on his pallet, sucking his thumb and murmuring about his snookie. As per Mhaldorian law his weakness was purged in the red square. He was a Dynamis of Mhaldor and the hunt for the saboteur goes on!

Seriously: Absolutely amazing event, though. I'm so awestruck. I don't even know what to be most impressed with.

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important
