Problem:

Right now as design expiry works, people can just regularly spam the unowned list and buy off 

accidentally orphaned designs. Ordinarily this would not be a problem, but certain individuals are 

also very quick to preserve these new purchases, making any sort of negotiation of repurchase/return 

of those designs very difficult if not outright impossible. This gives neither other potential 

buyers a chance nor even the original owner the possibility of reclaiming a design that may have 

been lost by only the accident of a day.

Solution #1:

Since we're apparently in the habit of sticking balance costs on everything that can be 

datamiined/spammed, instate a balance cost for NDS UNOWNED.

Solution #2:

Create a 'display' period for unowned designs so that others may have a chance to 

view/see/purchase/bid on them. This is also the final grace period for a design owner to reclaim the 

design.

Solution #3:

Combination of 1 & 2?

While I would have preferred 2 as well (its not too late to add it in too admin!), I am just happy this will be a thing. Super, super super super happy.

I must admit to not being convinced that will be entirely effective. That will help if the owner is already logged in when the design expires and had just forgotten about it, but if not I don't see a new balance cost stopping others from checking at least, say, once an hour.

It certainly doesn't do much to help other prospective buyers if the design goes up during their sleep cycle, for example.

Your second solution is much better and fairer all around, even if it only lasts one RL day. It also has the added benefit, from the admin perspective, of effectively adding another gold sink by way of the auctions.

@Kasya, It was a pleasure to be able to sit with you and help you through your sense of feeling overwhelmed and it those sorts of interactions that make being a novice aide in the city so worth it. I look forward to seeing your progress. I can promise you that there will be times of utter frustration, and things may not go as quickly as you would like/hope but I get the distinct impression that you have a good head on your shoulders. By the way let me just say Cyrene has knocked the ball out of the park as far as welcoming Paladin refugees. I am thankful for the alliance we forged with them centuries ago as a house/guild. You all have put up with more angsty/displaced/depressed knights than anyone should have to and you've done it with grace and allowed each Knight to come and progress at their own pace. Thank you Cyrene your kindness has been noticed even if in RP we still are always going to miss the Templars.

It's glorious.

EDIT: The only downside is that I do feel bad for the Cyrenian devotionists. Sucks losing your favorite class like this.
