First is whoever is behind the character "Evey" for role playing a Tsol'dasi speaking migrant from Istarion. Really interesting and unusual character background and good role play.
Second, is the Istarion area. Evey inspired me to check it out. What an awesome amazing place!
Except as a player I can't stand the way Evey insists in typing when not speaking in channels or in tsol'dasi. It is annoying as hell to try and read.
Reading an accent or dialect, to me, makes it sound real in my head. Someone who knows what they are doing can sound incredibly distinct and interesting, versus roleplaying opposite the Lord and Lady Merriam-Webster.
But they spark imitators and a general race-to-the-bottom in terms of who can sound the least comprehensible.
He jumps @Nim in Cyrene, runs from guards, goes hunting after I claim his bounty.
I gank him in the midst of his hunt (or try to - the man's health is insane), and he easily gets away. For a moment, I think he's just going to continue hunting (To which I'm verging on 'lolWTF' status), but no, he's just clearing up a few rooms for us.
We duel for a while - he eventually gets me because I borked my priorities (Left my Asthma > Paralysis prio up, my own fault). I burst, he asks if I'm done, I say "Yep, very well fought." and he moves on. Then he spends the next half-hour or more to help coach me on a protip or two to locking that I had overlooked.
Considering he and Bron were really hating on one another as soon as he became active again, it was both refreshing and humbling to have him helping me make Bron a better Serpent. Bron's still going to try to kill him, sooner or later - as certain as he's going to try to pick Cyrenian pockets - but I hope I've made it very clear that I've a colossal respect for the man, and look forward to the next encounter.
Should see what he says if you touch shield on every snap, and then end up beating him.
In fairness, I could do a lot of things to screw up the snap. I just choose evade for the troll factor. Like, haha, I stole your evade, and am using it against you!

Yeah it's really not that big of a deal, particularly since a serpent should pinshot you (if you can evade) before snapping anyways. Failure on their part more than anything.
More of an issue for other classes, serpent is 100% fine.

Admittedly I get annoyed when someone plays like you, Rangor. Anything to win, tumble into friends groves/Eleusis from clouds while locked to get heals by someone you have waiting on standby but regardless, factually this statement is incorrect because god knows it has been a long, bloody time since you have fought me 1v1, let alone beaten me. The few times I have interacted with you, recently, it's usually a gank rush with 20 of your lackeys based on some flimsy excuse to veneer the fact that you can't do anything alone anymore. When called out on it you kicked me out of warriors in an inconsolable rage. Not that it matters because it seems the only qualification to be in warriors now is to team people with Rangor and hide/while away your time in guards till 'the General' logs back on. Couldn't pry Alrena/Iakimen off your balls with a crowbar.
Tbf, no one is good at combat anymore. Just good at scripting/copying scripts.
So you're suggesting that, since I cannot script I must be horrible at PvP? In some senses yes, it's all RNG now, but it used to be that certain people could fight upto 7 people at a time and win easily. But a good understanding of your class and skills will still mean more than scripting/copying scripts.
That wasn't aimed at you being bad (I don't think you are). I was saying that being 'good at combat' nowadays essentially equates to 'being good at scripting', because combat has now reached the level where it's increasingly difficult to tell the difference between the two.
Oh god, we are not having a scripting conversation here too? Arg, one the coolest things about MUDs in general is playing around with code, aliases, and key bindings. @Jarrel handed me my ass in a few seconds, I think he is a stellar combatant. It's good to have him back around, makes all us other lackey serpents seem superb!

Who would have guessed. A masterly verbal defence aimed to discredit me to the eyes of the forums. +5 points for predictability. Perhaps we will also find you chasing Jhui's ass into raids to get some lucky snipe shots?

Rave: Rangor brought positivity to the forums in speaking about Hashan and brings positivity to my gaming experience by leading the wild armies of Eleusis to victory or hilarious defeat.

I feel like you're being overly pessimistic with this. Maybe overestimating the amount of automation that's going on out there, or maybe I'm underestimating it. Either way I know that there's a lot of people out there fighting, learning, and having fun without any of their offense being picked or chosen for them. They're putting the effort in, and they are becoming 'good' or have been good for a while. If you don't consider them good, or are also including basic curing as part of the issue then whatever, but I think you have been painting a sort of depressing view of modern combat.
That being said, the amount of people who can hold down their auto-offense key until you're dead is higher than it should be (0 please). We just have to hope those people get bored from effectively stomping on the spirit of the game.
I was having a really stressful and tiring day of doing blood work and trying to not throw up. So Achaea reallyyy cheered me up this month, was not expecting to log in and no longer be a Slave. Yay Mhaldor!
Acolyte Ast, Advocate of Strength (female Mhun).
She is 23 years old, having been born on the 17th of Valnuary, 654 years after the fall of the
Seleucarian Empire.
She is ranked 1116th in Achaea.
She is an extremely credible character.
She is not known for acts of infamy.
She is a Troni in Mhaldor.
She is a Maggot in the army of Mhaldor.
She is considered to be approximately equal to your might.
She is an Advocate of Strength in the Insidium.
She is a mentor and able to take on proteges.
Her motto: 'My worst is better than your best.'
Lord Marshal Hasar Lichlord's words quietly thrum through the air as he says, "No one panick." #2015PEACEthedream!

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important
Been taking on more and more rolls in the game lately. First went for Minister, now one of the Houseleaders. I keep worrying that I'm going to burn myself out or something because I've seen so many people do just that. Last couple days have been great though. Three newbies in the house that are all crazy about combat and crazy about learning and despite all the stuff I'm trying to juggle IG (New scrolls, house shop items, various forms of planning, my own development as a figher(SnB locking ftw!) ) I can't help but make time for them 'cause they really are just fantastic and remind me why I wanted to be in these positions.

I usually try to do one organisation thing and one personal thing at a time. Once I think I'm settled enough in both, then I add something new.
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
@Trey for not only making the impossible possible, but also turning my sword into something that I'm proud to wield with two hands. This guy dishes out perfection, I swear.
(D.M.A.): Cooper says, "Kyrra is either the most innocent person in the world, or the girl who uses the most innuendo seemingly unintentionally but really on purpose."

"Evade > combat" - me (about 1,000 times).
I've had several IDEAS and classleads approved for Evade, all of which are still pending or "being reviewed". =/
