They should really let you wipe your background. I can understand why they don't allow you to change it. What some people put in there was... awful.

Rave: I actually did a decent job of it for Katz, no regrets. :)

Shut up, Valnurana is awesome, and that makes it a great house. I will pk you to like level 20 if you say otherwise.
Have nothing wrong with Valnurana don't get me wrong, the house in general isn't a great house and I know others who have been in it around same time as me before the change in patron would agree. House is just a shadow and always will be now of it's former self.

Here is a rave! I agree with Hawek! Valnurana will hopefully change some things for the SL for the better! and since were raving about houses I just need to add one last thing.
(╯° _°)╯︵ ┻━┻ GO SPIRITWALKERS! Try to start looking up like the SL are now!

Fixed. I made it allies, because no one seemed to read it anyway. :P I'll probably put it back, because I prefer people only knowing history if they know her, but it's not that important.

Lol you obviously don't know the SL then, about has useless as the city and will be. They have no desire for learning anything besides sit in the tree all day talking about who knows what. No combat desire what so ever like it used to be. Even attempts to make it combat are / is against how they stand now.
Ahem. I agree and disagree. I disagree on your thought that "There is no combat desire what so ever like it used to be." Newbs come in all the time, pass newb level, and really dedicate themselves to learning how to be good combatants. Other older members, like myself, are attempting to further themselves in combat. And attempts to make the House more combat-oriented are not "against how we stand." I know you have your opinions on certain things and people in the SL. Keep in mind we've had some major, major changes in the past couple of weeks so things are moving along.

I mean, Mhaldor has some of the best combatants around, including those in the Naga. So I agree with you in the sense that the SL are not as.... strong, when it comes to combat, as they used to be. But the good thing is that things are changing... you'll see!

  • Rave for people like @Roselie and @Saidie who make my time in the Kindred nice. It feels more of a simple life. Contributing while still having time to do what I like. Though I still miss my mojushai people at times
  • @Sybilla: Okay.

You give 1000 gold sovereigns to Dorienne, the server.
Dorienne, the server says, "Very good! A Taste of Targossas, coming right up."

A smartly dressed server enters and places a silver platter before you. With a flourish, he removes
the domed cover, releasing a cloud of steam and revealing a delicious-looking meal before
    withdrawing.

    p platter
This oblong platter has a shiny surface of silver, and is large enough to accommodate several dishes
    at once.
It weighs about 1 pounds and 14 ounce(s).
    A silver platter is holding:
"brie359915"                            a miniature round of brie baked in pastry
    "salad266442"                           Salad Averrone
"heel181532"                            a golden heel of crusty bread
"trout392719"                           ruby trout served over angel hair pasta
    "apricot82586"                          a poached apricot

    get brie from platter;p brie;taste brie;eat brie
You take a miniature round of brie baked in pastry from a silver platter.

A flaky pastry shell surrounds this miniature round of brie, which has been baked until warm and
gooey. It is served with a generous helping of fruit conserve and several crackers.
    It weighs 5 ounce(s).

A miniature round of brie baked in pastry does not have a distinct taste.

Soft brie, warm and fragrant, melts in your mouth as you use a cracker to scoop up a portion of the
    pastry-covered cheese.

    get salad from platter;p salad;taste salad;eat salad
You take Salad Averrone from a silver platter.

This salad is comprised of fresh, tender young greens tossed in an aromatic walnut vinaigrette.
Three small medallions of goat cheese are set atop the bed, each no larger than two inches in
diameter, battered and fried to a golden hue.
    It weighs 13 ounce(s).

Salad Averrone has a zesty, intense flavour.

Your first bite of the salad brings the zesty flavour of walnut vinaigrette to your mouth, which is
quickly followed by the pleasant crunch and exquisite, buttery flavour of fried goat cheese as you
    finish the dish.

    get heel from platter;p heel;taste heel;eat heel
You take a golden heel of crusty bread from a silver platter.

Though normally a more undesirable part of the loaf, this heel is cooked to a lovely, golden brown
and creates a perfect portion for a snack. A thin crust hides crispy insides that soften near the
centre, tasting mild and a bit buttery.
    It weighs 4 ounce(s).

A golden heel of crusty bread does not have a distinct taste.

You quickly devour a golden heel of crusty bread.

    get trout from platter;p trout;taste trout;eat trout
You take ruby trout served over angel hair pasta from a silver platter.

This tantalising dish features a juicy fillet of ruby trout, its bright flesh perfectly sauteed in
butter and herbs. It is served upon a mess of thin pasta noodles tossed in a creamy sauce, and
    garnished with an acacia blossom.
    It weighs 6 ounce(s).

Ruby trout served over angel hair pasta does not have a distinct taste.

Butter and herbs mingle upon your tongue as you bite into a tender fillet of ruby trout. With
practised ease, you twirl the accompanying pasta upon your fork and finish the dish.

    get apricot from platter;p apricot;taste apricot;eat apricot
You take a poached apricot from a silver platter.

This warm, fragrant apricot has taken on a crimson hue after being peeled and poached in red wine. A
thick sauce of acacia liqueur has been drizzled over the top, tempting the tongue with promises of
    sugary delight.
    It weighs 3 ounce(s).

A poached apricot does not have a distinct taste.

Each delicious bite of the poached apricot is a delight to your tongue, the tangy citrus flavour
enhanced by a sugary sauce of acacia liqueur. To your dismay, the confection disappears all too
    quickly.

  • @Synbios: Oh SHAI! Does this mean we sell oysters again???

My priorities in Achaea are terribly skewed.
"Faded away like the stars in the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun,
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,
Only remembered for what we have done."

  • @Synbios you still didn't smell it.

Man, that brie though... it must go straight to your pseudopods, am I right?
  • Would hit.

@rispok and @laytron for being some the best aides a minister of trade could ask for. And @rispok for being awesome and helping me understand merchanty stuff.

@Antidas you'd be surprised at how often this is the case. I have a huge backlog of messages from defenders and I leave every time I am asked to (politely). Tanris did too.

Except the one time... RIP Shallam's guards.

  • MelodieMelodie Port Saint Lucie, Florida
Have to agree with Antidas - whatever other issues I might have personally now and again, Ashtan at least nearly always raids when we have a good amount of defenders (and generally a leader besides me!) around. Perhaps that's partly coincidence, since our city peak population times seem nearly identical, but in general it's been nice.

Except when they raided during Senate meeting time two weeks in a row. That sucked mainly because the meetings still had to happen. The open meeting ended up lasting 'til nearly midnight. Not sure if they planned that or not, but sheesh. :P

Okay, actual rave: Being chased by pirates for the first time (twice!) and I managed to escape. The first time I was close to a harbor, so I managed without too much fuss, but the second time there was a lot of open water before Thraasi. They managed to just barely get ahead of me and block, and panicking (and forgetting I could just move southeast), I high tailed it away, realized another harbor was too far, U-turned as they caught up to me, and double wavecalled back (hello 1.5k endurance) and just barely managed to dock.

I do not remember my hands shaking so much since my first raid defense. :D
And I love too                                                                          Be still, my indelible friend
That love soon might end                                                         You are unbreaking
And be known in its aching                                                      Though quaking
Shown in this shaking                                                             Though crazy
Lately of my wasteland, baby                                                 That's just wasteland, baby
