I can already tell you that you're not going to like what illuminate does. ^__________^

Excellent Priest changes overall. Lots of small buffs, a couple sizable buffs, a few balances(such as the sap stopped by shield but faster strip shield), and healing rebalanced to not be retarded.

I know what illuminate does and it's pretty cool/unique.

    *And I'm okay with it.

    Illuminate is the strangest ability.
    WHAT DOES IT DO
    image
  • edited September 2013
    Syntax: PERFORM ILLUMINATE <direction>
    PERFORM EXTINGUISH
Devotion: 3000 to ILLUMINATE, 1000 to EXTINGUISH

When you perform this ability, you will create an orb of light which will move off in the direction
specified. The orb is unpredictable and will move erratically. Each time it moves, the orb will
illuminate the room, giving a chance to strip the blackwind or astralform defences.

In addition, you may extinguish the orb at any time to travel directly to the room the orb is
currently in. It should be noted that the orb will only have enough energy to move so many times,
and it will fade if not extinguished a short while after it ceases moving.

what it needs to do is tell you when your orb poofs. You get motion right now, but no alert. From testing, it lasts 40 seconds and moves four times randomly in the first 10, starting from the room you throw it into. Illuminating has about a 5.5 eq recovery, and extinguish about a 4.5, with monolith blocking the teleport. 1000 mana for each.

Super thanks for the @Blacklotus for helping me out and not judging my mistake. You guys helped me out a ton and were so patient even though I kept screwing up. That's the kind of attitude that makes me appreciate and respect combatants.

I know that combat extremely stresses me out oocly, and it feels too fast, to complex, it frustrates me I don't get it so I don't do it for the most part. But it's little moments like this that help me keep trying no matter how much I tell myself I hate it or how much Eiredhel ICly says she hates it.
It's also ok to hate it (or at least aspects of it) for now but want to stick around long enough to make them better.

The rowdy notes of a drinking song, faint at first, then rising to the undisputed intensity of a
Dwarf On A Mission, herald the arrival of Ironbeard the Magnanimous who casts his beam of a smile about himself as he arrives.
"By Phaestus's beard!" Ironbeard the Magnanimous declares, his eyes widening, "It's Chord! Here, I have something for you."
Ironbeard the Magnanimous just gave you a giftbag!

    But what did you geeeeeeet?

You couldn't be normal and test this in your own city, could you? You just HAD to pop over to Mhaldor to try it out. Oh, Halos.

I admit, I'm not sure about this ball thing yet (it doesn't go very far and the Devo cost is huge), but overall I'm -very- excited about the changes. This will make me completely redo so many things, and ripping out things elsewhere, but it's going to be a ton of fun.

I have this wild urge to spar an Occultist several times, because the way both of these work seems like there would be some -serious- fireworks happening.

Work tomorrow (first day back!), then a nice long weekend for hours of testing. :x

  • Aye the cost on illuminate both being Mana and Devotion are huge, 3,000 devotion cast/1,000 mana and 1,000 devo/1,000 mana to extinguish as well.

The randomness of it can be a headache at times as well, watching it back track into a previous room several times is enough to cry almost.

Halos is a true Targossian badass. I'd give him mad respect knuckles, if my pseudopods had knuckles.

  • You'll find once you play around with it some that it is possible to (somewhat) get it to go where you want it to.

Hmm. Duly noted! Once I get home, I'll try out some things in the arena. Thanks for your reply, @Makarios!

  • yeah I have no idea how to control this thing. It isn't random. I've thrown it into a room with three different exits (not including where I was) five times and it has chosen the same path every single time. I have no idea what cases that, though.

Pattern is kinda simple, until you get to rooms with 4+ exits then your screwed. As for getting it into a room you want three rooms away on a straight away generally gets it to where ya want it.
  • It was reliably going north when I threw it west. I need to try some more directions...

  • From Barracks in Targ thrown D it'd go se then either North or South after that was about 50/50 it felt will conduct more tests on it when I get home

@vayne for appointing me Minister of Trade! And making me go into panic mode when you said you knew I could do it and to get to work immediately. Heheh @Laytron for helping me figure stuff out about my new job. You're awesome. I would never have figured it out without you.
