  • What? Halos's logs showed the exact opposite. Deuc gave the order when Aurora's shrine hit partial first...
  • @Cooper : I thought Gattan'Bahar only gave you >2000 essence when you killed her?

I distinctly remember having a conversation on TMC about how disappointingly low it was compared to how many splinters she had collected. Then we had a discussion on wether it could have been the miracles she used or the admins metagaming like that shard that miraculously appeared in Gattan'Bahar's room in Jaru for her to subvert when veilglanced showed it was empty seconds before.

I'll just draw people's attention to the italicised sections of the above. For those unable, or unwilling, to grasp what that means: it's clear evidence that Aurora's shrine had advanced to "partially rebuilt" prior to those events unfolding. Unless you're going to claim that Halos fabricated those logs, I'm not sure how you can call what I posted an "obvious lie".

A week before... About 12 hours after... What's the difference right?

Had a really awesome run through this last drop, got 9 splinters and several gathered instead of subverted.

    Led to this!

A scintilla of stark illumination briefly blooms and casts the Dawnspear in unearthly light.

A partially rebuilt Master shrine flickers intermittently with burgeoning power.

This once-powerful shrine previously shattered to unrecognisable ruin exhibits a glimmer of hope in
its partially rebuilt state. Sporadic flickers of energy hum intermittently as it clings to slivers
of essence from relinquished Splinters of Deus, though it is nowhere near the impressive tribute it
    once was.

    @Aurora will love us again!
Note: Atalkez's name is a link to the actual post in the "What happened to you today?" thread, you can see the time (not sure what timezone it uses) on that.
  • I realize you're all arguing over who shot first, Han or Dark Spooky Mall Goth Han, but I want to know which Orders got screwed after Mhaldor left.

This is purely to see who got made into Targossan lapdogs, by the way.

Sarathai and you are both pretty far off. With the essence I had from her (number of splinters is impossible to measure), I relinquished far more essence than anyone else did at one time.

@Proficy I dunno about the whole gods shouldn't be dropping hints thing. I think a few active ones have made vague references to it, but all of them refuse to give out any information. Things like "Keep up the hard work, the shrine is close to advancing" stuff like that I see as perfectly ok.

Edit: I also think it's funny anyone thinks Targ is the biggest advantage gainer right now.
  • Hmm, it seems trying to force different teams to unite and work together under a common goal, as well as balancing the different religious obligations and stances of each, is the real conflict of this event. :P

I just don't understand why you guys have to discuss it oocly and act all butt-hurt. It all makes perfect sense IC, no need to point fingers or blame anyone on the forums. Who cares?

To be sure, though, its not true that just because the Coalition are screwing them, the smaller Orders would be better on their own. Its not a matter of backbone. Its just a matter of being over-numbered and having to deal with... what, four big groups? In addition to fog denizens and whatever else. On top of being cut-off from the main clan you have access to know what the fuck is going on. For a rogue, at least, that would hurt a lot if they really wanted to be involved in the event.

You can bet your rear I would have otherwise left the coalition and done my own thing

And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

...But you'll always follow the voices beneath.

The main reason I pretty much forced everyone in the world into the Coalition by peer pressure was 1) It would probably help Mhaldor in the long run and (bigger reason) 2) So Skye wouldn't be getting ganked by people she thought were friends in a shitty way. Both goals worked out pretty well. I never had any input in the experiments, but they were actually experiments for experimenting sake, not sure the whole "WE WERE FOOLING YOU ALL ALONG" idea came from, not the case. It was to give Mhaldor more influence in the Coalition and actually try different things to see if there was any noticeable change, it succeeded in doing that.

It's a shame Proficy/Cooper/Aegoth quit when I wasn't and couldn't be around, it was in a pretty easy place where I'm ~75% sure I could have gotten Targ to quit and leave Mhaldor in the power position officially. Oh well, sucks my long term plan (that I came up with awhile after actually making it all happen, wasn't initial plan at all) didn't work but I didn't really think anyone but Tart could have pulled off the ending, and I couldn't really communicate that with garbage phone internet while I was evac'd for the hurricane.
Taraus was the biggest person pushing us to leave, and suggesting we do things that would push us out/get us pushed out. She 100% did not support Mhaldor being in the coalition IC or OOCly. Had you talked about any of this IC before you decided to do what you did, or even OOCly, things could have gone very differently.

  • Not really lol, Taraus was fine with being in the coalition, especially with being effectively in control of it like we were for awhile. I guarantee I talk to her more than you do :)

It's no secret you were pretty OOCly against it, and were openly working to get us removed regardless what anyone else's plans were. Don't paint your plans as those of others though.

Not to mention the threat of CDFs or ousting that most face for opposing it.
    Huh. Neat.
  • I blame the less aggressive menace thread being hijacked by the book of the month club. The hatred needs a path to flow. When you damn the river, it flows elsewhere.
  • The way things played out with Kasa the Inactive and the Coalition, I had the choice of either working with the Coalition, joining Babel/Ashtan, or sitting the first phase of the event out after the first day. I didn't want to work with the horrid giant cross-faction zerg, and I didn't want to quit Hashan for Ashtan so soon after starting. Having just retired from a game where my city averaged maybe 6-8 people, I was not enthusiastic about switching to a city where the QWC only had 6-8 people on it.

So my contribution to the event has been bashing up to L100 and banking 4+ million towards a future ship. Hooray?

Can we really not do this?

This event isn't about who "masterminded" or manipulated who. It isn't about making other people feel bad for participating in something. I'm guilty of making posts in here to sort of gloat about those things as well as some other people, but these past few pages have just been getting unreasonably ugly. Like, horrifyingly ugly.

Can we just appreciate the fact that we've gotten a pretty comprehensive event focusing on some of Achaea's strongest lore, and just leave the politicking to the discussions in-game instead? I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't come to this thread to read rants-redux Tsol'teth edition, I come here to get hyped about stuff that's been going on that I've missed while at work or asleep or whatever.

    This. 100%

On an unrelated note (as in one that is talking about the event and not griping), anyone else surprised that the Tsol'teth are going "OMG Greater dragons!". I mean Greater Dragons were mythical legendary beasts to even them no? They were thinking it would be easy w/o the empire. Then bam! Flight of dragons (or a murder, not sure the term for a group of dragons).
Pretty sure it's a Penwize of Dragons in Achaea >_>
    It's 'a scale of dragons'.

I know this, because I just decided it would be so.
