@Makarios would we be able to get an upcoming for indications of when? The one for Tenith'oru was very useful, since otherwise I know for a fact that I wouldn't have been around to participate (early morning Monday is... not the best time, generally).

If you don't feel danger, or feel disconnected from the event, it is only because you are sticking your head in the sand or plugging your ears while shouting "lalalala I can't hear you".
As far as the length/timing, it's pretty clear that the admin have been waiting for shrines to be fixed. Pretty much every major advance in the event has come shortly after an order got their shrine to the next level. The coalition has a lot to do with the length of time this is taking, there are/were a lot of orders contributing next to nothing but still soaking up splinters.

Oh there still are. And there are orders contributing plenty but getting zero splinters. It just so happens the coalition needed a certain number of votes for them to shaft certain orders, and the proposition favoured that many orders. #Coincindence

Wasn't a matter of shafting those Orders. Those orders typically have marginal numbers in the coalition (or active Divine for that matter). The Orders that were picked were a combination of their active size, AND their city ties. Majority vote was greater than the ones who're currently collecting shards, so there were some folks who obviously saw the benefit.
I signed up in the middle of all that's going on, and aside from the bit of the main event (the rest of which I missed because I have to sleep at night) I didn't encounter anyone talking about it all that much. When I asked about it, it was kind of like "There are bad guys doing something, we don't know what. The tide spawns monsters, kill them if you can." There wasn't anything over the city about it. Nobody seemed worried when I was like "hey, my shadow went missing." I can tell there's some stuff going on with the avatars because announcements pop up saying who is now avatar of who, but the general feeling I've gotten off of people who aren't involved in that aspect is "Yeah, there's a thing going on. Dunno exactly what. Could be bad. "
Yesterday (or the day before, i dunno) someone was like, "they're probably trying to enslave the strong and kill the weak" and I was like, "WEll, they're not gonna get us!" and they were like "Yeah."
So, I guess what I'm saying is, for those of us who can't pk (because even our simple reflex things are fail), but are still rp oriented enough to care, the event has lacked much of anything for us to interact with.
Though I learned I can free people's shadows yesterday. So, Imma try and see how often I can do that.
Three of the orders who got shafted got their votes in. One was a yes, one was a no, and one was abstention. A fourth order called BS after the fact. Definitely not enough for you to make any sort of claim along those lines.
You need to follow the leader, follow targetting, and spam your alias when you see explosions of texts.
You don't have to be awesome. You're not going to be a target anywhere kind of quickly, throw curing on and make sure you're stocked.

See, it takes eleven votes. Only nine of the major orders got a vote. That means at least TWO had to agree. The ones that said no were pretty much orders of one. Be salty all you want man, we're gonna keep doing us while you're sitting in your corner pouting.

And the best part about all of that. Is the ones who ARE getting shafted are to scared to do anything about it... Nothing stoping you from getting yours if you feel you deserve it besides the fact of having to stand on your own 2 feet.
For once, Ashtan and Mhaldor have the right idea. Screw the coalition if it's gunna screw you.
(Let's be honest, Babel would've gotten the short stick too)
Actually, due to their fighting force Babel would have likely been in this concentrated group, and if any, Gaia would have been out most likely due to their size. The idea was to encourage at the very least each city to have a tie in (Mostly in the form of patrons) so it'd entice some loyalty.
Given that I've been told by multiple people that I'll be CDF'd or perhaps even ousted if I work against the coalition, I have no choice. Verrucht would have to weigh in to be sure, but it's not something I'd like to risk.
Sounds like you're just downplaying everything that's happening. Completely losing control of your body? No big deal, easy to ignore. Weird vapor creeping slowly across the entire continent? I'm ignoring it so it obviously doesn't matter. Fucked up Serenade? LALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU.
I can agree that the OOC timeline of this event is stretched kinda long and people are ready to just move on to the next part, but I don't think you can hold the opinion that the Tsol'teth threat is not "dangerous".
I agree that OOC this seems to be going on a long time - but at the same time I appreciate that these events are also going to be part of the lives of the more casual players, who are not sitting there 24/7 waiting for the next shoe to drop.
I came late to the party, and it feels like a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time to me. Those of you who were there on day one must be going nuts. (Witness those speaking of talking to mobs, trying to figure it out, but that mob wasn't yet "ready" to be forthcoming with the next step/clue.)
Yet, if I had showed up a week ago to hear, "Oh yeah, last weekend there was this GREAT event. This. That. Shrines fell. Avatars. Shadows. Unwind. [Whatever]. Done." I would have been sad to have missed it - and those who had been more present than I had been but only logging in several times a real life month rather than several times a real life day would have been righteously annoyed.
I also agree that the threat is globally dangerous objectively, but I get why some folks don't grok that subjectively.

Right, because we haven't done any work to make people better in Targossas.
It's not lolganking to jump into a group for group fighting. I'm sorry you think you should be able to take on anyone you want with 3-5 people, but that's not realistic.
That's how you start PK. To get 'good' at PK, it takes time. I can tell a newbie every trick in the book four times before going into a fight, but they're still not going to have a damn clue about any of it while it's happening. It's time that anyone 'middling' in it, isn't going to be spending - but that doesn't mean they shouldn't participate in the event. It's largely (until the Tide) a PK event, and even the Tide is individual bashing with no real group theme.
You're the dude that thinks you can walk into a room to attack someone and have everyone just stand there and watch, or else they get attacked later for 'ganking' you - when you were the aggressor. We've had this conversation, and we disagree, but don't think you're the only person that tries to help people get better.

It needed 10. One of the non-included orders agreed.
But yeah, not sure why people are complaining. Nobody is entitled to free splinters. Like Atalkez said, it's politics. If people manage to get their own shrines up faster via force and negotiation and you can't or don't do anything to stop them, I'd say they made the correct and logical choice.
The orders selected to keep receiving splinters were chosen with this in mind. The "shafted" orders were ones the Coalition could afford to lose if things went that way. The whole dividing things between 15 orders wasn't working.
I'll add that some orders are acting for their own interests while others aren't (or, rather, see getting any shrine up as in their interests, for the sake of survival). A number of orders have voluntarily given up their own turns by this point. Only 5 orders are actually receiving splinters, not 9.

I agree with Proficy in some circumstances, but it really depends why people are attacking you and whether you're choosing to start a fight with them. If a 5 person group just rolled in and ganked Proficy randomly because he's a Mark, he'd be entitled to hunt them all down and, imo, anyone who gets in the way by delivering or defending the people who ganked him because they had no real reason to gank him to begin with.
Splinter falls may technically be the same since apparently it's "open pk" not "free pk" but people, myself included, don't generally view it the same. When you go subvert a splinter, you're choosing to start a fight and telling the world "Bring it" and should expect to have a group come after you and ideally have your own group to defend you. It's more akin to defiling a shrine, which like a "Hey, come get some."
Most people don't think you should hunt people down for that kind of thing after the fact, since you're choosing to initiate a group fight and should expect to be jumped by a group.
If he's actually getting ganked, a real gank, then for sure I agree with hunting them down later. Never disagreed with that!
I have had discussions with him after he initiates conflict in a room full of people, then attacks those people later because he got attacked for attacking, etc.
If you're subverting, expect to get steamrolled if there are any kind of competition in the area. That's what the message is for! There's no reason to go hunt people down because you 'got ganked' while doing something that you know is going to put a target on your back for anyone in the area.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.

Not sure why this would be a bad thing at all. You'd be leaving a toxic, horrible city! Should totally jump in and go for it.
I think someone already earned a cdf for it so yeah. The coalition is not this terrible thing it's strategy. In which case not everyone will like a certain strategy and that's life. Some things go in your favor some don't.
You dont learn to pk in 10 on 3 fights....all the bigger force does is mash there bashing alias.. you learn by practicing 1 on 1 or fair fights is my point @atalkez .... Which is why when they get into a fair fight afterwards you hear the complaints.... And yes any 1 on 1 fight is fair dont want to hear that "artefact whore" arguement... im always willing and wanting to fight anyone no artes

But it is what it is.
The problem begins when that group of 5-15 people automatically attack you as soon as they see you in the splinterfall area. I didn't subvert, nor attack an Avatar. Someone, somewhere states that Leviticus entered the area and I am getting "obstructed" (attacked) from doing anything in the area.
Had I subverted, I would be okay with being attacked. But I didn't. You want to defend your Avatar from me? Great, go forth and conquer. But I better be in the ATTACKING or have ATTACKED that Avatar. Not fifteenth rooms out.
Targ is pretty good with making sure I have attacked the Avatar before they come for me. Eleusis, Hashan, Cyrene are terrible (and the most whiny about it)
You want to attack me for the reason of "I might do something, sometime, to someone" isn't acceptable. But it happens continuously. I then find these people when they are ALONE and that is when I engage them.
Some people don't like that I find these people and enact my revenge upon them. I don't care about your opinions. If they were man or women enough to attack me with a group, they better have the same courage when I see them alone. Point blank.
I told the people from the beginning if you lay hands on me when I haven't done anything. I am coming for you. If you lay hands on me because someone in a party stated Target: Leviticus and you did what they said without thinking of why you were attacking me, you deserve the consequences.
If I engage you ALONE, and you run and then proceed to talk shit (Epifania, Prythe, Mathilda, etc) then I am going to make it as painful as possible when you do leave your city walls.
I expect to be jumped because that is the trend. But they should expect to be jumped after I embrace death.

I think you guys played this Coalition event beautifully. You did exactly as you said. You managed to force and politic the coalition to get most of the benefit for your city. You basically run the Coalition. It was beautiful to watch. Unfortunately due to very hard RPing by Jarrod, Cooper and Proficy and Targ's forcing the coalitions hands, Mhaldor can't benefit from the Coalition anymore. It was brilliant. Unfortunately, now the other members of the Coalition have started to realize that in order to play at the table you better be able to push around some people. Like you said, some orders to the Coalition are acceptable losses. Use and abuse them and toss them away when they become too vocal.
Given that he repeatedly attacks people that he has no cause to after the fact, sounds like some bullshit to me.
Name them. Go ahead, I'll wait. Little tad bit of information for you, I have a notepad of when I was attacked, by who I was attacked ,where I was attacked, the outcome of the attack and what I was doing when these people attacked me (it's how I won some issues). After I engage them and either kill them or get killed I scratch them off. I am also very approachable when talking with people of why I am doing what I do. The only time I wasn't was with Tereil and that matter is done. What I won't do is sit there is try to change your opinion through tells, because it never works. It sounds like bullshit to you because you are part of the coalition and don't understand what it is like to be ganked by 5-20 people out of nowhere multiple times. Leave the coalition, go into a splinter area and see what happens.
Also what @Cooper said is correct. I wanted to "clear the air" so to speak. I should have listened to him when he warned me that this petty shit was going to happen. People crying about being attacked one on one when they attacked the same person with a group of people. Doesn't make any sense to me.
