I hope old Shallam gets raised and holy spirits pour out and kill the fog. And then we get a new-but-old-city and this fancy new class. Wishful thinking over, gotta get back to giving runes to people.
No. See, in reality, the Tsol'teth were actually preparing the rest of Sapience for a threat far more dire. They destroyed the shrines because they were a massive vulnerability to the gods that this threat will exploit. The Tide and its attendant hordes of uberstrong, yet uber-gold-and-xp-rich? Their way of training the populace, while the fog is a hindrance to said threat. The splinters were an unexpected-yet-insignificant development, but the plan will proceed.
Who is this threat? Why, none other than Pericles, risen once again from his watery grave to exact vengeance on the rest of Sapience for never appreciating his duties as door-opener-and-closer.
"I shut your doors, now I will shut you all from life!"
A massive, black and white war beetle screams, its chitinous body shuddering with the effort. Your close up view of its segmented mouth allows you to bear the full brunt of the greyish mist expelled with the sound.
Aff: Recklessness
A massive, black and white war beetle rises onto his hindmost pair of legs, towering over you, and emits a disorienting pattern of high-pitched clicking sounds.
That change drastically reduced their damage and bleeding and made them notably easier to deal with.
Damage wasn't an issue, but that bleed was hell on my willpower, so that's a welcome change. Things still take too long to kill to not be incredibly dull, though.
The maddening buzz of a faint and unintelligible hum underlays the currents of besieged life as a shrine to the meld takes control of the Zaphar River.
For those wondering what this means exactly:
A 'Meld' shrine appears in this area
The shrines produce Fog as well, thus giving the tsol'teth new points of origin for their fog in the land.
The fog located at a shrine cannot be removed, no matter how many creatures you kill.
There is currently no way to remove one of these shrines.
But if that happened I wouldn't be able to have my underwater bashing ground in old Shallam's ruins, populated by undead ormyrr.
Wait, old Shallam is good bashing? You -never- tell me anything worthwhile, man.
No, that's not a thing that exists. Just a thing Sarathai wants to exist.
One day!
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
My theory is that since the Tide never touched the isle cause we worked our asses off to stop it when it came close, that we'll be last to be taken over by a shrine.

"worked our asses off" = dor kill ?
Well, it just infested Lady Valnurana's Temple, so I wonder what'll happen to Her Master Shrine...
I hope it does leech from the master shrines... make them (coalition) to just admit defeat and give in to one divine.. or split up to rework on that broken down shrine....
Cant wait when that thing breaks down... they think what the tsol'teth have planned is bad... the world will burn 1 way or another...
@Makarios The double attack thing isn't fixed. Got one from a beetle as I was running back to Ashtan from the Cave. Died again. (Not a complaint, just an fyi, this event is AWESOME).

Honestly with the supply of vines, easily accessible runes, and surplus of minerals, these things are pretty cake right now.
Only main issue is consumables, specifically moss in this case.
Yes but their aff attacks go through shield (no damage)
shrine to the meld takes control of the Zaphar River.

In other words: More Fog

Enjoy the memories, anyone who's seen this movie.
