Two non-coms going at it doesn't make either of them a com. You can fight the other coms thought like Aegoth and that other guy I'm to lazy to scroll up and check. Hirst of was it Dunn?
Edit: I'll be looking forward to seeing your name on any side of a deathsight.
Anyway, now that things have calmed down, I do apologize for the last couple of pages. Things got pretty heated and I'm not happy about some of my responses. No hard feelings to the Ashtan crew, I know you guys are great fighters, it's just really frustrating having to deal with suicide rushes and AoE instakill artifacts and the resulting constant XP loss, and the further-resulting saltiness sometimes leads to things like what everyone just witnessed.
Pretty sure I'm not even considered a com or much of a com, since while I do like to raid or defend or participate in things such as this even, I'm not much of a 1v1er. I just like the group fights. I dunno, lol.

Group fights usually more fun for me as well. Or group fights with 4-5 people to a group, small, cohesive, easily coordinated.
- (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place." - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely." - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")." - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish." - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."
I'm more of a fan of 1v1 or even 2v2, but it's tough for me without a decent aff tracker. I've got limb counting up and running, but since there's no message when you actually break a limb (other than them applying restoration) I have to do a lot of guesswork and guessing sucks.
Naturally, there is a disparity between the artefacted and the unartefacted, just as there is a disparity between the experienced and the inexperienced or between the many and the few. Belittling or mocking the other side (winning through credit cards, non-comms' opinions being irrelevant, etc) OOCly just polarizes the opposing sides even further. People are emotionally invested in this game so arguments get heated whenever they end up fighting what is perceived as unfair tactics.
Now, here is the secret - and it is a good one too! - presenting your thoughts and experiences in a polite and constructive manner might actually lead to a dialogue with the other side. Instead of 'lol troll qq', you might get entirely different responses: 'we had not even considered our actions would come across that way' or 'we heard your concerns and this is why we disagree with them' are actually mindsets that create a thriving community even when IC consists of strife and conflict.
But wait! There is even more! When providing this sort of constructive feedback about negative gameplay experiences, chances are that your feedback will carry greater weight in the eyes of the administration. At least that has been my experience elsewhere, and I seriously doubt Achaea would be any different.
Re: splinters and all I totally wish I had come to Achaea before all this started. These sorts of events are awesome but coming in right in the middle when everything is just huge combat zones and everyone is busy was a bit unlucky timing on my part.
Literally everyone can eye sigil. AF and BW are a problem because of how few can deal with it, though I'm not sure if that's something that's a problem with the situation or the ability. I lean towards the latter.
If anything, make claiming an Avatar give you access to a completely different skillset with no restraints on essence cost, but have the essence disappear entirely after a certain time period.
A damage attack for those that want to still fight, divinefire shield that drops on action/movement, and a flavor skill based on the God/Goddess whose splinter you picked up.
Solves the travel problem, the deathball gank squad, and the "loiter on a guard stack" issue.
A new skillset would be too much work to implement at this stage, they're probably still trying to assemble stuff for the next phase of the event.
Having said that, even 2-3 seconds of divine fire protection on completion of subvertion/gathering (much like how you get a 'barrier' to stop people from auto trample/vivisecting) makes a difference. Especially if you completely strip all fast-movement abilities and escape abilities like AF/BW/Refuge etc etc. Right now you subvert and you're immediately a sitting duck even for people walking around phased and waiting to backstab you on completion. A couple of seconds to find your feet is probably more than enough without unbalancing the chase.
Personally, I feel like phase/astral/bwind is fine. Everyone can eye, and the latter two have quite a few tools to get them removed, all of which is ample in the coalition. You guys already have the superior numbers/firepower, a little counter to that isn't the most terrible thing to ever happen.

Achaea, Dreams of Divine Lands and complaining children. Bloody hell people... grow a pair! Everybody! (Except for Jhui. He never complains even if we 30-man gank him.)
You get chased around by 5 forestals even when you stopped subverting and it's 5 minutes later, and tell me bwind/astral isn't "fair".
You have the tools to get folks out of those phases. Several, in fact. Use them.

Tools to get folks out of blackwind: Grove flash. Educe silver (which is only a 1/3 or 2/3 chance, I forget which). Heaven forbid someone's a serpent, or a blademaster, or a bard, or a monk, or or or or.
Unless I'm missing some mystical pyramid sigil, the tools to deal with phase are available to everyone, whereas BW/AF aren't.
As someone said, if you think something should be changed, talk to the admin. Short of their item/ability/strategy being heavily bugged/unbalanced, people are unlikely to say 'hey, I think we're OP too, we agree this should be changed'.
And speaking as an actual non-com, I don't see any problem with this event. Open PK areas would have been a problem but the admin have already shut that down.

If you're an avatar, they have every reason to chase you. If you aren't one, you still get to use those abilities even if they get taken away from avatars.

Someone make it stahp.

Also I just opened these. They are so fucking delicious. I can't even begin...
My bad.
