Our patron's followers are actively helping enemy cities kill our citizens and stop us from rebuilding Babel's shrine, and is demanding we not go into the Temple to kill city enemies so that they are protected. What a bizzaro world.
I find it so weird that Ashtan's focus is on rebuilding just one shrine instead of both Babel's and Aegis' shrines, given they are both patrons of Ashtan related stuff. Because even despite the fact that Aegis is Ashtan's patron, the coalition (or at least eleusians) still helps to raise his shrine.
Sorry, @Melodie. I hit you earlier in Mhojave because we were after you and I didn't realize you weren't subverting anymore. I was overexcited, I think.
Also so this splinter collection event has made me realize how lacking I am in self-sustaining skills. I really need to learn how to ink my own tattoos, to behead and to get the insomnia skills...

I look at it this way. Any other factional city in the game, if any citizen attacked the Temple of the Patron, that would be most definite grounds for getting thrown out. Ashtan itself is not dedicated to Oblivion, that's only the Nihilists and those supporting them. Ashtan holds an alliance with the Chaos Lords in a mission to control the world, not see it disappear. In this instance, it hasn't just been "city enemies" but the Patrons order members and pre-order members as well while in the process of restoring the Patron's Master Shrine. So to me it makes sense for the Ashtani to be told not to prevent those efforts within the temple itself. Outside, sure, but within the temple is considered sacred ground to the Patron.
I don't really think it's weird. As soon as we announced we wouldn't be joining the alliance, the alliance (which includes aegeans) considered us open game, which is fine, but it's understandable that Ashtani are like well won't be helping you.
@Datrius the problem is that the Aegeans are assisting enemies and enemy gods as well. Assisting enemies against Ashtan citizens (and not just the city as a whole) is against our city laws.

Nah, I understand the refusal to help part. But attacking the temple is a different story, at least to me.
Edit: Also, isn't Aegis supposed to be considered more of a neutral god or am I wrong on that?
But the people helping Aegis also have broken into Ashtan and into Babel's temple. It's pretty open season now.
Eleusians raiding Babel's temple, a divine who opposes pretty much everything they stand for, is pretty different than citizens raiding in the temple of their city's patron. The comparison really doesn't hold up.

The aegeans are fighting alongside with and aiding those people, and hiding them in their temple. Yes we're gonna break in and clear house.
I'm tempted to keep hunting, make random snipes at people both verbally and in combat, and accept that the worlds is plunged into almost total lawlessness.
Otherwise my head just keeps hurting from the loud banging made when my head hits teh various walls.
Babel Order not silly enough to go out and continue raiding Aegis' temple once He asked for it to be left alone. Yes, it happened once or twice in the beginning but even we can respect that. That is not to say we won't gank anybody on their way there (which Aegis said was totally cool). A god has every right to declare His/Her temple off-limits.
And as for Ashtan being focused on only one shrine...the -Nihilists- are focused on only one shrine. It just so happens that most of the regular pkers are Nihilist or Nihilist-leaning. It is not Ashtan's official stance.
Man, fighting several cities at the same time is super hard now that @Rangor is uniting them under his lead. It's still a lot of fun to try things out though, and really good practice for us. Team Mhaldor is pretty awesome for throwing themselves at the Coalition with ridiculous odds, makes the few times we (kind of) come out on top all the better! Yay team Evil!

HIrst, how come you can always say what I mean in prettier ways?

I could be wrong but ...
When the city leader makes a decree... it's not always the most thought out idea to turn around and post to the city "We shouldn't listen to this guy and we should keep doing exactly what we were just told not to do".
