The only "OP" artefacts is the mana and health lvl 3 regeneration ring. It allows you to get that and trade in your current regen stuff. The crucible 2.0 Vengeance Bomb is nice for group combat. Everything else is not interesting
My problem is with certain people acting like why they being attacked. Namely Emilea and Lylith. They have been attacking people non-stop in splinter areas. That is why you get slapped around.
They first wanted to talk shit to me. So of course I said let's go, expecting a one on one with Emilea (she/he has a huge shit talking mouth). I instead got a 3 v 1 by Emilea, Lylith and Airius.
I offered to duel each in turn and got a no from Lylith, Airius no response and an ignore with insanity talk with Emilea because I called her a noob. Watch out guys Emilea hides behind issues!!!
Operation Welcometominia has commenced for Emilea, Lylith and Airius.
generally i find the "non-coms" and the MSC to be the ones Attacking on Sight in splinterfalls and outside of splinterfalls if you get involved. the general response IC and on the forums seems to be deal with it. looks like they are taking that advice.
I expect it because I'm Mark/generally don't care. I typically wait for someone to pick up a splinter otherwise. Or I stand there and smile at them while running around them as they stand there channeling a pick up.
10/06/18:25 Greetings! Regarding your issue #77628 filed against REDACTED for harassing and
threatening issues publically in a shardfall area, I have reviewed this issue and I am ruling in
your favour. I have dealt with this matter accordingly. Additionally, as a clarification, as per the
ANNOUNCE post 4641, only the holder of an Avatar is free to attack, merely being in the area of a
shardfall is not sufficient justification. Thank you!
Man, this feels very similar to old shrine PK mechanics.
So if I see someone subverting, I can't go attack them? What's the point of the area wide message then? What's the point of the world wide message that tells EVERYONE that this area is now peppered with stuff that makes you open PK?
Shardfall area should be open PK, imo. What else are you there for? To bash? Blah.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.

well they do land in bashing areas like moghedu but if there was a OPEN PK rule, then I would it put it on the basher to look out for the shardfall line and gtfo (can you see it from inside rooms?).
i think this event would be better if the shardfalls rules were just OPEN PK. because they are not, it really interferes with your IC actions. why would I go up to the room where someone just started subvert and not attack them so I can subvert it myself?
but since the rule is there I try to follow it. if someone starts attacking me out of nowhere, shardfall or not, i'll put them on a list and remember i have cause on them. no need to issue.
It's mostly bored, heavily-artifacted top-tiers throwing chaosrays and crucibles out against a bunch of midbies and noncombatants with a couple higher-levels trying to basically herd cats. We're trying, though!
That pretty much demeans what Jhui, Dunn and co do, though.
They enter fights with absolutely impossible odds. Even with artefact advantage and their experience, the tides are massively against them in terms of numbers, and even the slightest bit of coordination is usually enough to disassemble what they're doing. We've fought them for months and months on end. It should also be no surprise that thereafter, Targossas is also extremely good at groupfighting as well.
They're very skilled fighters. It's mostly the skill and preparation that is getting them the kills against vastly superior numbers, though their artefacts do obviously help.
You sound like I did several years ago before I got stuck into shit and realized just how much effort it takes to do things like that and come out on top. The short answer is: git gud.
The biggest thing here is people just have to learn a few basics. Honestly, if I can summon the energy, I might run a short workshop between falls to help spin people up. Unfortunately some of these super noobs are over cocky, thinking that they're going to murder everyone because they consolidated all their arties to a single char. And for the love of god, setting up a simple reflex if your target has deliverance up to untarget them will save your life soooooo much.
Yeah, it's got people running around doing what they used to do for shrines, being issue happy.
Known defiling in area > known subverter in area "I'm not touching the shrine!" > "I'm not an Avatar yet!"
"I'm in room with the shrine, but you can't do anything" > "I'm subverting but you can't hit me until I'm done, so I can stop subverting and laugh at you as we both just stand here accomplishing nothing"
Super cool rules.

At this point, I've been attacked for just being near the shardfall area as well as chased down outside of it (after the fact) by various parties. And you know what? That's fine! This is war, it seems to be kind of expected. And while it can be a tiny bit frustrating, the fun/learning experience far outweighs any sense of annoyance.
Just going to weigh in and say that the one time I happened to be able to subvert a shard, I was halfway through when @Xaden and (I think?) @Antidas started sniping me. I gtfo and never thought that was something that was not allowed. Shame on people for issuing for that though. No sense of honor.

You were near the Mage in Mog right?
I prismed in and started dsl'ing. If that's against the rules (which I guess it is) come fuck me up, ain't no thing.

Gurl you actin all innocent.
I wasn't even at a shard fall area and you walk up to me whenever I'm headin to new Thera to spin and start pointin your finger at me while I'm semi-mindless.
Then you run off and say "NON COMS ARE USELESS".
Don't even try and act like "omg ppl have been attacking me without reason". Most of us have plenty of reason from your rando-attacks during a non-shardfall.
I never said anything like that. And if you had read my post, I made no claim to innocence in this event either; it's just that both sides are equally uninnocent and that's fine.

Yep, it was there. And no worries man, I figured I'd get attacked (especially since it took me forever to realize I pretty much had to stop curing to subvert). But, I'll definitely come hit you a few more times in the coming days, I'm sure.

Three and out. My style too.
Just ask the wife.

Some of them are skilled. They have a pretty varied group in terms of skill levels atm.
That being said, I wouldn't say any amount of skill is required to do the room attacking stuff specifically. Just need to go BM, have a crucible, and have int/tanking arties. Pretty simple strategy as far as strategies go.
Don't have a problem with it. It can be lots of fun. I just think you over-glorify it a bit. It can be a lot more difficult to lead people who don't know what they're doing than spam thunderstorm. The MSC also has political problems (which I have no intent to resolve personally as they are the only thing that make it interesting) that impact ability to work together as one cohesive unit, which are fun but play to the lone rogue faction's advantage.
Lol what makes Jhui and co good is not arties and room attacks. Our biggest win yesterday came from everyone splitting up. All of us know how to fight 1 v 1 and group. If you have legions of Midbies that don't fight 1 v 1 and we split them up into small groups, we'll eat them for breakfast then team the bigger fighters. NBD
Achaea is 19 years old now, and people still don't understand that the M.O. of Achaea is, "When an exciting event is happening, expect to die... a LOT"?

Yeah. People are going to be idiots and abuse issues to get their way whenever they get salty about dying. If you're subverting, you're gonna get killed. If you're actively fighting against one side every time the splinters drop, you're gonna get killed if you're in the area. Deal with it or don't participate.
I'll take a group of experienced veterans any day over an army of unseasoned confused starters.
If anything, Babel's group has the advantage in all this, simply from experience as well as a single-focused goal. The coalition however is filled with strife, inexperience and forced coordination (which fails much of the time). Naturally Babel's group will be able to undertake and succeed at some heavily coordinated attacks.

You can take shrine combat out of Achaea, but you can't take shrine combat out of the Achaeans.

No clue why randomashtani decided to roflstomp me, but figured afterward it was because of the shardfall starting.
