    Hey, we gave everyone the opportunity to be a part of this. Y'all decided to shit all over it. Granted, it's -mostly- worked in your favor, but only when you have most of the Order around. :D

    Ok.. so I was still sour that there's no new class... But now I'd like to get involved in this madness. 

    So I gotta hunt down splinters? How do I find them and what do I do when I find one?

    And before anyone says ask in character... all questions I've asked since initially logging in on any channel have been met with unrelated exclamations about how OP something is our saltiness about ganking. So.. I'm turning to the forums.  (Isn't that a little backwards?)

    The Announce news posts (4641, specifically, I think) have most of the details. There's a world message when they drop with the area, so you'll want to keep an eye out for that (it's usually around dawn of each day). When you find a splinter you either want to GATHER ESSENCE if you're a member of an Order and the splinter is for your Patron or SUBVERT ESSENCE otherwise. You can't do anything while gathering or subverting, and there's an area-wide message to let people know you're doing it.

    When you gather or subvert the first splinter you'll become an Avatar. This will remove everything you have worn and prevent wearing any items. It also seems to strip starburst defence, but from what I've seen you can touch starburst again afterwards (may be a bug, may have already been fixed). You're open PK while an Avatar.

    @Borran sort of feels like an event that also leads into a new class. Rather than just: oh hey have this ummmm class! Which I think is a much better system.

    To get "sour" over a new feature you wouldnt even know about if they had not told us is sort of like getting upset about nothing.

    Considering the reward for completing the Black Wave talisman set is a bunch of artefacts for the new class, and it doesn't open until some time in November, chances are the new class won't be out this month.

    Fair enough.  I already knew my bitterness about it wasn't justified, though.

    Also, I hate event talismans. If you don't play right now, you will never get this OP artefact that everyone else has.

    The stripping, at least, is intentional by the Garden.

    Yeah, I assumed it was. Seems odd to then allow starburst to be put back up as an Avatar in that case.

    I'm guessing/hoping that the Black Wave set winds up added to the talisman caches in the future, which may help balance things out.

    Our shrine is now partially fixed according to the room desc sooooo were doing alright even when we're only doing a majority of our work when we're out of work. I'd shit all over it again in a heart beat.  
    To be fair, you're coordinating 5-6 people typically on average. We're coordinating four, five times that sometimes, and a lot of those are typically non-comms or not practiced at group combat. Plus, it's a hell of a lot easier when our side chokes on quickly consolidating and stands out in the open for you to kill them before the defense can react. :'(

    It's mostly bored, heavily-artifacted top-tiers throwing chaosrays and crucibles out against a bunch of midbies and noncombatants with a couple higher-levels trying to basically herd cats. We're trying, though!
