Apparently if you've been a member of any skirmish this month, you're free game to the 'alliance' that wants to put the shrines together. Even if you're just following someone who hasn't been around at all and just wanted to look around. Way to ruin an event, playerbase.
The event is not ruined, for you or anyone else. You joined the opposition and then later put yourself in a skirmish area.
100% your choice and 100% your fault.
How do you figure I "joined the opposition"? I logged on for the first time this month today, never left my city until I walked to Riparium and then we got attacked. I literally did nothing but walk to and from. To be honest, I don't give a shit about the shrines. At all. But that was never expressed by my character, nor my friend's (as far as I know), we were simply attacked without any warning or cause. I'm actually fairly certain that is explicitly against the rules.
I was in that party, and someone said Dredrith was a nuisance the last time or something. Me/Krizal said like 5 times to talk to you before hitting, but meh. The alliance is pretty much a (very boring) clusterfuck, but it's what we're stuck with for now!

Man, did you complain this much when Harambe died?

You said you joined a skirmish this month, so I assumed you joined a skirmish this month.
I said I was sorry even though I didn't hit you and I was too busy being naked. But it was my shrine run, so I took initiative to apologise. But when I asked you what you were doing down in Riparium, you couldn't give me a straight answer. If you were genuinely doing nothing you would've just said "I was hunting" or "I was exploring" or anything. But you couldn't even do that.
Sorry but I've played this game too long to not get a feeling of someone playing the "I'm standing *just* outside defendable but I'm not touching you" charade. I'm definitely not for attacking people on sight, but just that short conversation with you just left me with nothing but the impression you were spoiling for a fight and looking for an opening where you could spoil for a fight.
In the old days, that sort of behaviour usually ended in someone issuing and claiming they didn't do nothing (except maybe pick up corpses or loiter around the combat area for no discernable reason) and got attacked. We used to have a name for that sort of behavior, but the person who made it famous still plays so I'm not gonna say it.
@Skye Why does anyone need to tell you what they're doing anywhere? Or anyone else, for that matter? I could have been hunting, collecting reagents, exploring, looking for a fight, dancing, anything, and it's no one's business but my own until I attack one of you. Just because you're in an area doesn't mean you own the area and people have to "make their presence known" as one of your compatriots said.
I asked because then I could convey it to them with all the more emphasis that they were being overly aggressive nutjobs.
But
instead all I got was 'damn this guy spoiling for a fight, I can't even
speak up for him because he's literally giving me nothing here but bad,
uncooperative vibes'.
Not forgetting p much most of people who
attack us are Ashtani. Including the guy who was following you, and also point in case above.
And then you walked into a room full of Targossians who have made it clear they're looking to kill anyone and anything given the slightest provocation (or existence).
Incidentally though, if you were going down there to bash merfolk (let's be honest here nobody goes to fuckin Riparium which is like the boonies unless they want to bash). I would've had to attack you too because Neroes (10/10 would've died doing it). You were literally in the worst possible place to try and do anything.
@Skye Honestly I was coming by to see how the event worked. Today's my first day logging on this month and I didn't know. I was going to make a decision about where I would stand afterwards, but none of that was your business, especially IC where my character can be an ass. But being attacked for going near there literally made the decision for me. Your group left no room open for discussion, when you could have had an ally had you (collective you, not you in particular) actually had a conversation or.. well... anything, before just "GASP IT'S AN ASHTANI, PITCHFORK ARMY MOOOOVE OUT KILL KILL KILL".
@Omor what you did was akin to walking into a room with a bunch of people from different drug cartels, all armed to the teeth and trigger happy, and when asked what you were doing there you said walking your dog. Did you expect to not get shot?
You can probably stop with the city-based attacks. I have been instructing people to only attack Avatars and Marks, infamous, etc. I've also seen Ashtani randomly gank our non-infamous non-Avatars. In a massive pk event, it happens. I don't think placing the blame on an entire faction and only that faction is very good for an amicable playing environment.
It is always interesting experience that people have learned during this time, most of combat is kill all the people in the room as fast as possible, now during this event is try and defend the one person who has the splinters and that turns out to be a bigger challenge.
Lol just got attacked at NoNT mid-duel because of the event. I'm not even sure how people think that's an "accident." Then I go looking for the person who attacked me, they run for the group and I get lol-killed without attacking anyone.

If you're referring to Laetetia, yeah it was an accident. She's not real used to combat and forgot to unenemy so golem hit. We both know that stuff happens with loyals.
You are already wielding an elegant rapier of pearlescent hues. There are no venoms on that item at present. You will now attempt to parry attacks to your centre. You weave strands of melodies over your blade, tunesmithing it with the power of the accentato. You rub some larkspur on an elegant rapier of pearlescent hues. Lightning-quick, you jab Ailea with an elegant rapier of pearlescent hues. The final blow proves too much for Ailea, who falls to the floor a broken, bloody mess. You have slain Ailea. That might have been Adeleine. Sorry! No hard feelings OOC.
