I missed the end bit because people were acting like morons and I am now trapped in the 'unable to move freeze scene' whilst praying.. so that's awesome, thanks for that

People were acting like idiots from the beginning. I honestly think the people going around and PKing others during this fight should get a TDF from every living Divine.
In general it was kind've an underwhelming ending. The gods killed Bal'met, BBEG #6402. Whoopy. The people who were late couldn't take part in the battle at all (believe me, I tried) and in the end it just turned into "watch the world emotes while people act like jackasses as normal"
When I first logged on, I couldn't even def up thanks to the lag. And it took me fifteen minutes to stop fighting after three DSLs to try and leave the battle since I could barely see my attacks in the bunch. Generally, it was just a chore to be around. And that last speech had no weight given that Sarapis and Maya were pretty invisible from the start.
Would've helped a lot if the people who were late were able to -do- something in any meaningful way. But nope, one set of DSLs among several dozen.
Pretty sure that's all most people did (except in my case I used a spiritual mace because why not?). Expecting an individual glory moment with > 500 people logged on?

I can send you a quick log if you'd like.
It is all we can do sometimes to grit our teeth and ignore that crap, believe me.
Sat in the ether for 5 minutes with no indication of anything happening. Walked out, slain by dala'myrr, disconnect, log back in, no honors line. Sorry Sarapis, but I've hated this event from the beginning, and the finale did not redeem it in my eyes

With all due respect to @Nellaundra, that is exactly right. It's not reasonable to expect to be anything but one of hundreds in a large-scale event like this. There's simply no way for us to craft individual stories for each person. We'd love to, obviously, but we'd need every single player paying $25,000/year or something similar in order to hire staff up to make that happen. Not likely! That's really more in the realm of tabletop RPGs like D&D than it is in shared worlds with thousands of players.

That's ok. We know there's nothing we can do that will make everyone happy, and of course, we also know that absolutely nobody (least of all us) was happy about the technical difficulties. I'll make sure you get the honours line though.
The only thing I didn't like was the lag, which wasn't the admins' fault at all. The idea behind the event was certainly as epic as promised. It's just one of those stories that work much better reading after the fact rather than direct participation.
>_> My favorite part of the whole thing was probably after the death of Bal'met with Selira, just coolly standing and commenting while chaos erupted all around Nishnatoba.
Yup, only thing that sucked about it was the lag and the Gods channel, no complaints otherwise. GG, please don't let this be the last event for 7 years or whatever again
Seriously guys? I ignored the idiots and had fun, just like every other day in Achaea. Epic conclusion to an epic event, only slightly tarnished by the antics of idiots and massive lag during the start. Did not see demigodhood coming for all of us.
Also does this mean the player behind Sarapis is leaving as well? Hopefully not because he and Tecton have really been bringing their A-game lately.
Wow! Personally I loved every second of it! Yes, it did drag a bit. But over all, its an experience I'm going to treasure. Mainly because, well, I suck at combat and it felt amazing for Lodi to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with his fellow Mhaldorians on the field of battle. Lodi's died countless times defending Mhaldor over the centuries, but he's never done so on equal terms with his city mates. I can understand that for combatants this event probably wasn't as adrenalin fueled as they would have liked, but for someone like me it was very, very special. Thank you so much @Sarapis! Your a legend mate, you really are.
Big love to the Mhaldorian crew as well! So many people seemed to sink into trivial childishness with their new powers. But almost all of the Mhaldorians I saw didn't. Almost all of us kept focused on the task at hand and turned the other cheek even when we where stabbed in the back. If Lord Sartan had ordered us to go on the offensive, we would have done so in a hart beat. But He didn't, so we didn't. Now THATS what I call proper, old-school Mhaldorian spirit! Anyone who says this spirit is dead is simply wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong!
Not saying that every Mhaldorian acted through honor, but most of the ones I saw did. Those that didn't where given a stern talking to as well. Bloody brilliant RP all around! Its this kind of stuff that makes me love Mhaldor even after all these years.
I bet loads of people are going to complain, saying that this is wrong and Mhaldorians where the worst. I don't care though. I know what I saw and that's all that matters.
I won a competition awhile ago to have Chris Bourassa paint a picture of Lodi. My profile pic is the end product.

Shut up.
This plot was written to conclusion before it kicked off. If no one logged in at all today, it would have ended precisely the same way.
But, there is one bright spot:
Cool event, all in all. Excellent finale, despite all the hiccups.
